I’ve lived in south Florida most of my life. I lived for a bit in London and the lack of sunshine even more than the cold was crushing. My boss was so sweet though, anytime the sun came out she’d send me outdoors to run an errand even if it was a made up outdoor task. Best boss ever.

I’m seriously starting to get depressed because it’s getting warmer and the sun is out all day now in CA. I get the opposite seasonal depression…. I hate sunshine & heat! I live in Canada 🥶, I have painfully dry and reactive eczema prone skin. That new Danessa Myricks balm is a miracle product. I keep reapplying it morning and evening after my regular skin care and before sunscreen and makeup. It is soooooooo perfect.
How come you apply it before sunscreen?

I don't get winter here in Arizona, its like an east coast spring hahaha. I get the summer blues, you can't go outside when its 120 so that's super depressing.
I love subtle colors!!! I have veerrrrry muted coloring and so many bright, saturated colors just make me look like a clown. Subtlety for the win! I’m going to need to pick up the DM balm, it sounds amazing.

I’ve never heard or seen someone else describe something as “craft store potpourri cinnamon” before and I feel seen and valid. I describe the worst of the BBW fall candles as “smells like Michaels.”. (While I can appreciate that this lip gloss smells like this, that tells me to stay away because the fake cinnamon with a side of plastic smell i’m envisioning is not for me haha)
That balm serum is my new favorite. Slathered it on the first night I got it, and woke up with smooth happy skin. I’ve worn it under makeup for the past two days without trouble too. Hallelujah!
Officially the last day of summer here in Australia yesterday and it was 40C (104F). So warmer weather heading your way soon. Although our warm seasons last much longer than our cold….anything goes with climate change! 🙃

Glossier Sail swatched a little bit orangey on the back of my hand, but once I got it on my face, it looked closer to neutral, IMO.

The blush looks peach, not pink. This would pull so warm & orange on me. I was hoping it would be a soft dusty pink rose. I agree it suits you beautifully though.

I feel like Glossier products are always more warm toned and orangey in person than online. Nice to see that isnt the case with sail

Hmmm I received Patrick Ta “ not too much” this week and have been a wee bit underwhelmed and I have light Irish skin. Seeing this blush on you makes me want to apply w a bit heavier hand because I’ve been too timid…stunning on you!
I've become winter intolerant. Between the cold and the wind, my undereyes are trashed to the point of not being able to use concealer anywere near the eczema-like patches. This vid is reminding me to try slapping on some FutureDew before buying the Danessa Myricks balm. 👍🏼

I get the kit with these products - they have all blended seamlessly and look absolutely amazing on you. I'm dipping my toe into my first Danessa Myricks product with the balm powder. As an oily girl the colour is a bit off but the feel on the skin is amazing. And yours was the first review I watched to research. Obviously our skin types are opposite ends of the continuum but I find your explanations and comparisons to be at such a level of detail that I can leverage them to my own needs. Thanks Kackie.

Eyebrow pimples are the worst IMO why are they so sensitive yet difficult to purge??? Also, not helpful for sunshine but upgrading traditional long johns to high quality base layers for outdoor activity is a game changer for the cold! Not that much bulk but super comfy, especially when getting the male leggings to hike up past the waist

Gonna have to agree to disagree on the Tower 28 concealer. It 100% did not work for me. 38 years old, a bit of under eye dryness and some fine lines. The moment that concealer set it sucked every ounce of moisture from my under eyes and creased like crazy. I also think the shade range is bonkers weird and I saw some other RUclipsrs who had the same difficulty finding a shade that matched. I just refuse to buy two colors to get my perfect match. But this just goes to show that we all have different experiences with products based on our skin type. I'm glad it's a holy grail for others. Right now I'm getting along well with the Glossier Stretch Concealer.
Something in the Danessa Yummy Skin Tint makes me break out 😭😭😭 Otherwise I love it! For years I used the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue but I thought I had found my new Holy Grail. I do enjoy the Tower 28 and the Givenchy concealers. They really help a good skin tint ‘stretch’ further into foundation territory.
I hate winter, too. I grew up in Texas but have lived in NJ, OH, FL, and NC. NC isn't too bad, but I still hate the winter there, too. Give me sunshine and no seasons!!!

Ok, so I was inspired by the way you talked about the Danessa Myricks serum balm to try the same thing with the Bloom Effects royal tulip nectar and...I'm floored. My skin gets dryyyy and really flaky, and with the tulip nectar as a primer under my combo of the greige cica clearing bb cream and the white haus labs foundation (I'm cool toned and really desaturated as far as i can tell) it...actually looks like skin?? I will caveat this with the fact that my skin isn't at its worst at the moment and I haven't wear-tested it, but I'm not getting much transfer lightly pressing my hand to my face either. All in all, it seems super promising! Definitely one of the most exciting makeup discoveries I've made in a long time, so thank you so much for the inspiration ❤

Funny you mentioned bronzer going orange, I’ve been meaning to ask for your color theory help!! EVERY bronzer goes orange on me lately. I have light skin with neutral undertones but I think the problem may be that they lean very *yellow*. 15:46 Do you have a rec for a shade of bronzer that won’t go orange when layered over an undertone like that?

The Tower 28 concealer is the first shade match I’ve ever found that ✨vanishes✨ on my skin. Can’t say the same for their skin tint though 😭
I LOVE these shades. As you say 👨🍳 💋 I want to get that really desaturated one you talked about I forget the name I have to check. Ì get so much joy when watching your channel and your knowledge of color. Im also RE learning for myself about using the right type of tools the right way to apply the makeup. Im still mentally unsure if I can spend the money on expensive brushes bc I feel like I've had ok* luck using cheap brushes or semi cheap compared to higher end brushes. But now I'm wondering 🤔 am I setting up myself for failure or more work by not using more $ brushes. I don't know why I've not seen brushes reviews ?
Also I'm kinda curious if any of the cool tone inexpensive makeup mainly Korean [ and other origin] On Amazon are any good for a cheap product.
Finally id love to see someone actually go through color theory WITH 🎨 on how they develop colors esp cool tone colors - and how to make a delicate warm yet cool color with mixing. Including info on the pigment load % for each color and amount used to be able to bump a color from one shade to another. That would help me a lot in customizing colors

Would you suggest the Denessa Myricks over the new Kosas foundations for older dry skin? I have not liked any foundations on me as it shows all my texture. I thought of using Westman A dew drop lightweight one too. I have tried a lot of them and spent way too much money. I am going to look at the ones I can at a physical store. I also need to cover a few spots of hyperpigmentation I can’t seem to lighten with skin care. I might get laser treatments for that and my Roseacia. I have light. Skin with red Roseacia on top.
The Kosas BB is horrendous for texture. Would not recommend 😢
I am a Florida girl who just moved the Midwest. Its july and I am cold (I dont leave the house without a light jacket and even in the house I'm a sweater though that does have a lot to do witj my partners family feeling hot and having the ac down to 72).
My skin and hair, which have always been dry, feel noticably dryer after 3 weeks. Im looking through your videos for all the hydration recommendations and im started to get a little worried that I might not make it through the winter now...
