For someone who's only been watching the movies, I have to say that it was absolutely amazing. I was literally brought to the edge of my seat almost every second. The cast blew me away, and everyone suited their roles really well.
Thing is, I feel like book readers will almost NEVER be satisfied when theres a movie adaption made. But for a film to be this successful, for a film that started off with little resources and funding, and for a film that actually hit no. 1 in box office, I think you should cut them some slack. Like movies will never be 100% or sometimes even 50% close to the book, but if they actually make it big, and it becomes a hit, I don't think it's right to call it the "worst film ever" just because you're constantly comparing it to the book.
Cheyenne Jawahir and it's funny cause even james dashner is like completely satisfied with the way the movies are made. Because wes managed to capture the main idea of the story that's why James is ok with all the changes (Saw that info in an interview). And I think that's the most important part tbh, the fact that the movie still captures what the book's been trying to tell all this time.

au3reyoo exactly its completely ridiculous how they act when its only a few changes and the movies still captures the main idea like you said making the things he left out not important but the movie still shows you everything that's suppose to happen in the book with the exception of a few missing stuff

I saw it last night so im sorry if i get this wrong but the first was when the crank attacked him when they were running and Thomas came back for him and helped him and Newt said 'Thanks, Tommy' but it was very fast paced so it was hard to tell. The second was towards the end of the film and they were all sat together talking and Thomas says about Chuck and Newt says how 'Chuck would you proud of you, Tommy'.

Just saw the movie. Here's an unpopular opinion: the movie was better than the book (like the first installment). The changes made the plot more sensible and thrilling. Not watching it bc "it's nothing like the book" will only make you regret it. Plus you won't see the beauty that is thomas brodie-sangster haha

I say the movies were good but I like the books better because of the way it was originally and the characters I still like the movies though.
Why are people so upset about the changes? They aren't that horrible. Every movie adaptation is going to have changes, you're lucky you even have a movie franchise for these books. You can't say it's completely different from the book when you haven't even watched the movie. I thought Insurgent would have way too many changes and be confusing but it made more sense than the book. Not everything in a movie can be played out the same as it is in a book. Stop whining and be happy that you even have a movie.
It still has the same characters, setting, major details, etc. so I don't see how it changed the plot.
Also, I wouldn't want to see a movie adaptation where it is completely the same as the book. That would be so boring. The changes make it exciting because you don't know what's going to happen.

I said back then and I am gonna say it Again Hollywood does not create masterpieces like this anymore. 2010's was the Godly era of hollywood, they were creating masterpiece every single month. Dylan O'brien is literally the most talented actor in the Industry. After watching this film I almost forgot that he was a crazy comedian in Teen Wolfs. This Movie has insane sound tracks and crazy jumpscares. I can easily feel the pain of Voice Editor myself.

Tomas Beramendi in comic con the director said that he is following the book but not completely. He has changed some things in the movie with Dashner's approval as well. But he said you will notice key moments in the book which are in the movie.
Also he said that Teresa will get a big role in this movie which is like the complete opposite in the book where she doesnt show up towards the end.

I can't begin to explain how incredible this movie was I saw it when it first came out omg it was perfect 100 x better than I thought

Divergent was stupid series. But the Hunger Games and Maze Runner they both are amazing.

I hate the fact that the cranks got turned into boring cliched fast zombies. In the books they were TALKING... and it was AWESOME. But in this movie? just "GYAAAH!! UAAARGHHH. WUEEEEEE!!!" sigh....
Also pretty much everyone was infected and had a bigger to lesser degree of intelligence depending on how far the flare virus has been in them, which made them REALLY interesting. In the movie however, people are either: ZOMBIE / NOT ZOMBIE

Thomas and newt were my favorite charaters, i wish they had more screen time together. Especially newt, he should have gotten way more lines and screen time. bloody amazing movie nonetheless!!!!

Just saw the movie. It was just amazing! Best film I have ever seen!!! I never was so excited about a movie before!!!!! Really worth to watch!!!!
By far an amazing movie..I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. I know the zombie (infection) concept than been played over and over again but it really added more suspense in their whole try to survive. I suggest you watch it before you judge. People disliking the movie are usually those who've read the books, it's understandable..nobody likes to see big changes. But personally, since I haven't read the book, this movie to me was really amazing.
One thing is Thomas is a pro at sliding at the perfect time before it squishes him
