Finally posting again! That 6.4 sounds awesome. 6.4 is the fastest, especially with the compounds it comes with from stock. If the money is there to build it thats the best decision. She's definitely pricey though.
I liked my 6.0 but she had a lot of issues. Had to put a cam in her at 250k. Mild build trans, pmax turbo, 175/30s, tuned ficm and all the bulletproof stuff to make it half reliable

I drove a 6.4 powerstroke for work and lemme tell you, the ones that were going to blow up already have, the ones left over are awesome engines if you know how to take care of them
@carter.coleman Yes, runs great, but! 99% of the time, I set the tuner to "no power/stock". When I tow, I'll set it to "Mild". I do not run it hard (stock turbo and tranny). 215k miles on it.
@carter.coleman yes sir. I run my tuner on "no-power/stock" unless I'm towing "mild" setting. Having stock turbos and tranny are not designed to handle the 600 rear wheel HP. Just do routine maintenance and coolant flush every 2-3 yrs. 😉

6.4l powerstroke are a good buy if you plan to build it, like motor out, build it. If you think you're safe with a turbo swap and delete kits and fuel pump upgrades, you are sorely mistaken. don't look to this video as to what all 6.4's are like. God's hand is on this motor, it should have blown up by now, long before his trans did. Even he acknowledges that. 6.0's, if driven well and are kept stock, are fine. they require no engine building to be reliable and powerful. New heads with a fire ring, studs, egr deletes, oil cooler replacement and a coolant filter, will make a 6.0 bulletproof. You want to buy a 6.4? You have to build it to be reliable, no "if, and's, nor buts" about it. There's a reason as to why ford ended their Navistar partnership after two years of the 6.4, despite working with them since the 6.9l Idi's in the 80's, and maybe earlier. The Idi's, 6.9 & 7.3 only needed coolant additives to be "bulletproofed." The 7.3l powerstroke needs only a decent owner and maybe some bellowed up pipes, but nothing else. They are more reliable then a well maintained stock 6.0, they can't make the same power, mod 4 mod, but can be built for truck pulling if you got $50,000+. The 6.0 isn't reliable stock, but can go for a while, the oil cooler gets clogged eventually, and injectors will go out along with your oil pump(I can't remember if it's the hpop or lpop that causes the no start when hot condition.) The 6.4l needs to be built from day 1 to be reliable, with out forged internals (glass piston issue) you are stuffing gauss in a bullet hole. Did you stop the bleeding? Yes. Will it last? No, infection will set in and a cascade of failures will come. So, if you got $40,000-$50,000 burning a hole in your pocket, and you don't want a 7.3l, a 6.0, nor a 6.7l and save money by making them reliable and giving them a boost in power (pun intended), then you can afford to buy a high mileage lariat 6.4 powerstroke and you can afford to build them. Ford offers a studded remanufactured 6.4l for $16,000, put forged pistons in there and an upgraded turbo and bam! you have a reliable stock 6.4l powerstroke engine only and you have a "stock, high mileage" everything else, truck. you need to do an upgraded high pressure fuel pump and both egr's and dpf delete's to finish making the power plant reliable, and it is after all of this that you can now add tunes and big power, and not worry about if it's going to blow up. although it's probably wise to buy, or build, a built tranny for this, since it's high mileage.
I have a 2008 f250 with egr and dpf delete and 203kmiles and has 0 blowby and sounds. So i also have a 2000 lariat le 7.3 dually and also has 0 issues with over 350k miles.i dont know what to say to people that hate 6.4
6.4s are my fav ford motor. Yes they blow up but get rid of the fuel bowl get rid of the paper pistons and cam and swap over to a single turbo with studs and u have a slick truck.
So real quick bro I can hear you use LAV mics for recording the interviews, to help with the audio "sticking" to one side, take the audio from the LAV mic, duplicate the audio track, set on audio track to left, the other to right, that should fix the audio shi. Love the videos

Idk i mean it definitely comes down to how it was driven and treated ive seen 800k mile stock 6.0s un opened and ive seen 500-600k 6.4s but it really comes down to what youre looking to get out of it

Yup, I knew the 6.4 Powerstroke is a very good engine and it's a very 150k mile problematic by Navistar. I love the 6.0 Powerstroke is very easy to work on. The 6.4 repair is very expensive for maintenance.
6.4 all day. Just let my 08 350 DRW go. Had 230k on the original engine and trans. I beat on it like it was a race car. Only things it ever asked for were oil changes, fuel filters and fuel.

Stock motor and stock turbos? I have a 2008 F250 6.4L deleted EGR/DPF/Cat/EGR COOLERS with a H&S Turner (+300 hp) with 5" ss exhaust.

Minds do change when the turbos and coolers have to be pulled, i think they roll out but if your not doing the work and you got the money go for it!
