Thanks to Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, music from the 40's and 50's are very very close to my heart. They've opened up a whole different world, one I really wish I could've been a part of. This song is amazing and Peggy has such a pretty and haunting voice with so much emotion. I kinda cringe when thinking of today's music. But whatever; I'm quite comfortable in this section of RUclips (: cheers to Fallout!
I've always wanted to be in the 40s/50s I think it was a much better generation with much better music, the ink spots, Peggy lee, hank Williams at. Etc I would have loved to. People are too ignorant now and there's no respect for anyone/anything. "Women" don't dress like they did in the 40s/50s and all the music now sucks. I hate it
Jesse Pinkman People are ignorant now? The 40s and 50s were not the utopia you seem to believe them to be, while I prefer the music I'd much rather live in a world without so much McCarthyism, Racial Segregation, and Polio. At least now women can dress as they please, domestic abuse wasn't properly illegal in 1950s America. Entertainment at the time wasn't all too great either, the 20th century stuff I'm particullarly fond of was mostly "Black Music" and heavily frowned upon and television is now leaps and bounds better. The 50s were only great if you were a white man.
I prefer the way women women dressed in the 40s and 50s. They didn't look like sluts Women hit men now A days and ask for equal rights but when a man hits a women, women flip out because they aren't strong enough and shit. And they're is still a shit load of racism going on today. Black on white, white on black, Muslim, Mexican. Etc...

Ah, the memories, the nostalgia. Wandering the Mojave at night alone, chasing an impossible dream in a devastated unforgiving world, soldiering on despite the weariness of it all.
If you're new to Peggy Lee, perhaps here from that Fallout video game, take some time and watch her live performances here on youtube. She's one of the great vocalists of 20th century music. She wrote alot of her hits, too, like this song. And she can swing harder than all the rest...incredible vibe and incomparable timing.
People have no idea what a great composer Peggy was besides being a terrific singer. She wrote this for the movie "Johnny Guitar. She also wrote music for other films such as "Pete Kelly's Blues". She could also act. I miss her. T. Pitre, Phx, AZ.
Its amazing to see so many people appreciating and listening to old music because of a beautiful videogame like NV. Man, i love that game so much, it made me make friends for life, and im not talking about fisto the robot lol
this song has such and eerie quality to it...and the recordings from back then only add to it....i fucking love it. imagine a pop singer now a days singing anything like this? yeah right....even rock artists of today don't come close to making anything as spooky and as musical sounding as this....
You absolutely took the words out of my mouth! Of all the songs on New Vegas, to me, this song always stood out because I always felt it had a horror feel to it. I used to dislike the song because it used to heighten my horror senses when I'm fighting to survive, but at the same time, I liked the song because it's just perfect.
That phenomen(I mean old music better than modern shit) is in every country of the world...As example , almost all soviet songs are better than current shity fcin Russian songs...And german with French too....Sad , humanity is not progressing , it s regressing...
Luis Figueroa it´s called like the Song "Johnny Guitar" it´s a beautifuly shot western from the late 50´s or early 60´s I am not sure. You should watch it if you ever get the chance.
Johnny Guitar, la mejor película que vi en mi vida. Un western feérico, genial, con las mejores interpretaciones de Joan Crawford y Sterling Hayden, secundados por un notable elenco de actores y actrices secundarias dirigidos por Nicholas Ray
I love this melancholic minor key melody.......so haunting, sadlike. Appeals to my melancholic soul. Doesn't strike me as something gleeful, but rather pensive-like
Questo pezzo è la mia vita....... in trasferta da solo.... lho messo in loop 8h al giorno x 11 mesi....... e visto che mi da..... mi ha dato la forza x andare avanti......ma.G
Good God! She looked so much like Ginger Rogers. I wonder why I never notced this before? I've been around since 1941. I went to school with her sisters children at the Avery Coonley School in Downers Grove, Illinois. Peggy's sister was equally pretty, but apparently not as talented. "Fever" was high on the charts, and played every day on the radio for minths at this time. All this more than sixty-four years ago! INCREDIBLE!
I'm listening to an over 50 year old song because Bethesda decided to make a game backwards compatible on X1 and I'm sure 10 years from now someone will come to this video and realise how amazing that is.
Thank You New Vegas , This is one for the Golden playlist. I am truly blown away by this video , the emotions , the classic & my god she was so pretty too, hope she got her Johnny :)
A great live version of a great song. The staging is pretty cool, too. The film "Johnny Guitar" is excellent as well.... How many Westerns are there in which the dueling protagonists are two bad-ass women?
Esta es la canción tema del film de 1953, interpretada por Peggy Lee, muy popular en su época. No se puede entender la canción sin haber visto la película. Geniales. There was never a man like my Johnny, maybe you're cold, but you're so warm inside, I know... letra genial basada en el film
The quality of videos and recordings was so poor back then, but the quality of singing and the style of music was so much better than what it is today.😊
The tempo of this song is incredible, just a hair short of stalking. Peggy Lee was the business, great performance. More songs like this in the next fallout please.
This song played while I was about to do the fight for Hoover Dam. It made me stop, listen, and appreciate before I went on. 10/10 Fallout 4 used it again.
Love the little guitar solo, touching for me as a guitarist, the way she walks over to the acoustic somethin tells me there was a "Johnny Guitar" who inspired this.
Wow, they changed the lyrics on at least one lp record. They took out 'What if you lie, what if you steal .... (I love you) . Replaced it with 'What if you go, what if you stay...' on the lp. So they took that phrase out in the '50s; and look what we get these days. Good grief. Anyway, I like the 'bad boy' lyrics. ... and ya ever been in love with the 'bad' guy/girl? Man, that is some trip. Not for the faint of heart. It's fascinating in ways, but not truly recommended in my book. Still, I was sucked in for a few years. Wild experience. I hear ya Peggy.
Not only do I have to give thanks to Fallout New Vegas but a BIG thank you to my brother. Love all the songs on the soundtrack but mostly love this one. : ) Thanks again bro. Much love to you.
I have acually listened to this song by searching for classic music and then I listed to this song so many times and I got Fallout: New Vegas then I heard this song, it was awesome!

My favorite song in NV.
+darlack0301 Me 2 :D
+darlack0301 it's a beautiful song... but in my opinion "Love me tender" is better!
+darlack0301 me too
sebastien boudreau they are both really good songs but in my opinion I think Johnny Guitar is better.
Mine too! :D My fav in Fallout 3 was the one about setting the world on fire.
Please never delete this video it's timeless.
patrolling the Mojave almost makes me wish for a nuclear winter.
Who has time to patrol, there's a settlement that needs our help. Here, I'll mark it on your map.
Word from a settlment, word from a settlment, word from a settlment, get off to a settlment

What a dumb comment lol.
I was born in 96 but thanks to New vegas a music from the 50s is one of the songs of my childhood
Truly.

An absolute masterpiece of melancholic music. We miss you, Peggy.
