So inspiring! I am 6 months in to Nature Journaling and love this community! I like the idea of putting journal time on the calendar. I tend to leave my journal open on my art desk so that I can sketch or paint in my pockets of time. I love learning about the nature I am sketching and now I am wanting to inspire others to start journaling through my blog and maybe start a local group when we can meet in person!
Kit Dunsmore I think there is something about nature that brings that compassion. How much better would the world be if everyone could appreciated nature. If Trump nature journaled he might not support selling our parks.
As a brand new nature journaler, I have been binging your videos and interviews and they are wonderful. You are really getting your message across about trying new ideas, keep practicing, mistakes are good for learning, etc. A suggestion for future newbies: If somehow in the future you could link the names, website, etc of the people you interview and who they talk about that would be awesome. In this interview there are a bunch of names dropped of other people who journal and I am not familiar with them as I am new to the community. I would love to check them out but some of them I am struggling to find online to see what they do. Keep these coming. I took a lot of notes in this interview.
Hello Ainwena, I'm so glad that these videos are helping you. Thanks for your suggestion, I will do my best to always link or provide more details about everyone mentioned in the interviews. Many of the people that Heather mentioned are on the nature journal club facebook page.
Glad you liked it Aneta! I just interviewed Dallas the yesterday about homeschool nature study, that you so much for the introduction! That episode will come out next week.
Wonderful video Marley! Love the story of how Heather started in nature journaling. So many great tips and ideas. Just a wealth of information. Enjoyed it so much! 😊🍁🍂
Hi Lynda, I really had so much fun with this conversation! I did not know what to expect but was so blown away by all the wisdom that Heather shared. It is so cool to feel like I learned SO much from someone who has only been nature journaling for less than a year. I love how fearless Heather is and how she just nature journals everything!
What a great interview-exactly what I needed to hear right now. I appreciate the acknowledgement that it’s intimidating to post in the FB group, crawling as it is with professional artists. I’m suddenly feeling emboldened!
yay! I'm so glad that this interview had that effect for you. That was my goal and why I wanted to do this episode with Heather, I feel like she is very encouraging to listen to!
From Heather: I'm so glad this was helpful. Sharing can be hard. It can make you vulnerable but it can also open you to new things. I have met so many amazing people and gotten inspiration and energy from the interacts. I'm so happy you're giving it a try.
Great interview!!! I definitely relate about finding a wonderful community in the nature journal group! Your encouragement and enthusiasm that you bring to the GV nature journal club is one of the things I look forward to on Saturdays, Heather. Enjoyed learning about your unique journey getting into NJ.
@@MarleyPeifer It would be great to have you join us sometime! Brian's meetings are very relaxed and mellow. A good place to just chit chat about nature.
I've been watching from Nepal, preparing to start a nature club for teens. Love your content! Who is the "Jack" you both reference? Can you link his page?
That sounds amazing! I think the subcontinent could be on the verge of huge tipping point for nature journaling! Jack AKA John Muir Laws is one of the most well know nature journaling teachers and authors!! Check out his youtube ruclips.net/user/JohnMuirLaws
This was great Heather, LOTS of good info.
