I want this book, it follows from a mortal detective who eventually gets pulled into the world of demigods. This could be so cool!
At this day in age, yeah stuff is going to come up. While most mortals will do anything to only see what fits into their established world view, but some of us are crazy conspiracy theorists who want wild truths. With camera's and other evidence, the mythical world cannot stay hidden forever. And yeah, does the mist affect cameras?

No like literally the shipping thing is real there was this Harry Potter Percy Jackson crossover duck I read and they tried to ship nico with Thalia, they straight up made Thalia leave the hunters for nico and Nico was like “I was wrong I am bisexual” or something like that and it was crazy. I think they shipped them because they both kinda dress alternately but they are literally cousins. 😭😩
I mean all the demigods are cousins so that's kinda moot. But I agree with the rest. Just let them be friends.

I was a huge Harry Potter fan. Still has a lot of nostalgia for me when I can look back and see a lot of its flaws.
Harry is objectively very powerful.
Percy Jackson scared the shit out of several primordial immortal beings.
Not to mention that Demigods are canonically resistant to magic. Remember how Hagrid needed dozens of stunning spells to even react? Our boy Percy not even blinking. Cruciatis curse? He been there, done that. Even regular wizards can throw off imperio, and Percy has a lifetime of telling all-powerful beings to shove it.
I don't think Avada Kedavra would even work on a demigod.
Even in the driest possible place, with Percy refusing to blood-bend or suck out someone's moisture until they were a corpse cause he is a gentlemen. Percy is going to one punch a wizard, no problem, and we all know it.
Harry's abilities are more versatile, he can do things Percy can't. When it comes to combat? Sheer power? Harry going down every time.
People also need to stop that shit about Harry having been through way more than the demigods. Yeah, he is an abused orphan who went through some crazy shit, not gonna lie. His life sucks.
