    That is a very rare truck combo. Why tf didn't they charter a helicopter to find him right after she went missing? Or put up road blocks. Small towns everyone knows everyones car, so he was obviously from somewhere else. Road blocks would have prevented him from getting her out of town.

    Since the town is so small, I’m curious to know whether or not they checked into how many people owned red pickup trucks in that particular area. That lead itself could’ve minimized the search to a specific group of people.

    • @thosethreeweirdos32

      For one, this man could have not even lived in Alma, even if he did, Alma was about as big as Fayettville at that time. So it would have been harder than you think. Trust me there are towns like Farmington that have only 7,000 people and others that only have 500. So Alma is big for an Arkansas town. They were obviously not prepared for it.

    • @theoretic7856
      @theoretic7856 4 года назад +1

      Lol while Alma is small, it is 18 minutes from the Second Largest city in the state. 45 minutes from the largest area by population in the state. It's also 13 miles from a completely different state. Back then this being in the south. There was only one place people would really be in a small town. Depending on the season it's at whichever sports field that was being played.

    • @theoretic7856
      @theoretic7856 4 года назад +1

      @@thosethreeweirdos32 uhm.. Alma only had 2500 people at that time. People seem to think it's bigger than it is. But I think that was because we had the largest high school football stadium in the state for several years. My graduating class had 175 people in it.. The only place in town with an elevator was the football pressbox which was I think 7 stories high. It's crazy when i think back on it. 175 students in the senior class multimillion dollar football stadium see what mattered in the town??. Which was actually part of the fields there. Well one of the parking areas for the baseball fields the peewee field was the visitor parking for the football stadium. I am pretty sure Morgan went missing from the teeball fields parking area. If memory serves correctly. All the fields were connected but the parking was between them and anywhere someone could park. I was playing on the peewee field that night.

    Such a sad case! Breaks my heart when I saw this story on Unsolved Mysteries years ago; No blame to anyone, but I do wish those little girls would have immediately told Morgan's mom of that dude talking to Morgan. I truly hope she's out there, but unfortunately, due to the time that has gone by now, odds are she fell victim to a sicko the night of her abduction. Its amazing how something so disgusting and heart wrenching can happen at something as innocent as a baseball game. Makes me realize how as kids, we have all been unsupervised, or just played with friends, and how many times we all could have been vulnerable to a predator the way Morgan was. My heart and prayers are with her and her mom

  • @ssydneyjamess

    I was actually raised in the Alma area. I went to the high school and played on those same baseball fields as a child. I never felt unsafe. This case is so frustrating. The abduction happened before I was born, but still made such an impact on me. Alma is and was extremely small, especially in the 90's. I feel like it has to be somebody from the area. Alma is right off the interstate, so it is possible it was a traveller. I just can't imagine someone just "happening upon" those baseball fields. They are so intentionally tucked away... it is just so disturbing to think it is someone in the community.

      Sydney Denney I don’t think it’s a local. I think it’s an outsider. People in small towns know each other and what cars they have. So if they see a random truck in town, they would at least connect the dots in Morgan’s disappearance.

    • @ssydneyjamess
      @ssydneyjamess 4 года назад +2

      Serena Chintalapati I totally get what you’re saying. However, the area the fields are in are not just happened upon. Maybe he isn’t from Alma, but he could absolutely be from the same region. Especially since there were other reports in the same county/neighboring counties within 24 hours. The truck that was reported is a very popular type of vehicle in the area. Also, this specific town has a lot of open land/farming areas. There are parts of it where there are very reclusive people who nobody knows because they stay on their properties that have plenty of acreage for them to live private lives. I could see it being one of those people. It scares me to think that though because then there is no way her body would ever be found. Dead or Alive.

    • @SerenaHunter512
      @SerenaHunter512 4 года назад +2

      Sydney Denney true. The man may not be from Alma but he may be from surrounding towns. He may be local but only in that area, if you get what I’m saying. Like he’s from the same place but not the town of alma.

    I live in Arkansas and I was in hs when this happened. Her picture was everywhere, on every news broadcast, every newspaper, but not a thing turned up. They still talk about this case because I think something like this had never happened before in that town. Today, her case is pretty much used as a precautionary tale for parents to talk to their kids about stranger danger. It’s sad that even after all this time, not a trace has been found and I believe there ever will be. I have no kids of my own and I can’t fathom the pain that this has done to her family. I have a lot of respect for her mother for never giving up even after 20 plus years, she has fought to keep her daughter’s memory alive. I hope someday something will be known and her family will finally have some peace.😞

    I live about an hour from where this happened. I was close to the same age as her when she went missing. It was so crazy because things like that don’t happen often in our small towns. My parents started being a lot more strict with us at the ball games from then on... so sad.

    I’m genuinely shocked that those two people had attempted to steal Morgan’s identity years later she went missing, that’s something you never hear or see. And it’s such a coincidence that there had been two other attempted abductions just shortly after Morgan’s disappearance.. I really hope they get the justice they deserve, cases that involve little kids just breaks my heart, especially since there’s hardly evidence to go off of and to move forward with it.

    Sept 12, 1988... Four days before me. This case always hit home to me as a child even though it was nowhere close geographically, I remember watching it on unsolved mysteries (the original of the late 80's/early 90's.) I always thought our parents were being a little paranoid, but watching things like this really was an eye opener. This case was what got me interested in true crime so young.

    I live a town away from where this happened. I noticed that there were some things said wrong in this video. Her family lives in Alma. Extreme home make over came and redid the house. She didn’t go catch butterflies, she went to the field to catch fireflies. The firefly has been a symbol of hope with her family. There is so little info on this case, I’m shocked you even covered it! I think someone who knew the family abducted her. It’s what’s thought around here the most!

    i live in fort smith arkansas, it’s about 15 ish minutes away from alma, i wasn’t alive when morgan was abducted, but my moms best friends mom and little sister were at the same ballpark when morgan was taken. the mom had seen the abductor and has explained what he looked like to the police multiple times. there was a man who committed a crime a few months ago here in fort smith that looks just like morgan’s abductor and people are trying to figure if he is or not. it was all over facebook. people have been all over it for years and she’s never been found. it’s so heartbreaking and scary.

    Hi. I really like the cases you talk about in your podcast, but it's very unedited.. I am now on the Madeline McCann episode, and I'm just wondering if the newer episodes are more edited with fewer repetitions and stuff? I first started with the latest episode, but you began talking about viewers view on the last episode, so I thought it would be good to start from the beginning, and the cases are very interesting, but the amount of repetition is starting to driving me a little nuts 🙈 do you have a suggestion as to which episode I should start at?

    This hits close to home 🥺 I live so close to there it’s scary…. There’s been a family come forward saying the description of the suspect is their family but alma police will not look into him even tho 2 days after Morgan went missing he actually took off to Utah and had the same truck at the time she was taken from the ballpark I actually played a game of softball at when I played! He since has returned to alma 1 year ago and the police won’t do anything even tho the suspect has recent history of child crimes…. It’s sick

    I hope and pray that whoever is responsible for Morgan’s disappearance finds the courage to come forward and give her family the answers they have been waiting for for the past 25 years. Hopefully the abductor(s) will be able to make things easier on themselves too. This is very sad indeed!

    I was listening to the podcast and the first thing that put me over the edge is that two random kids came up to a little girl asking if they want to play with them. Keep in mine the oldest is 10 years old. These other parents are convincing Morgan’s mom to let he go without adults supper vision... And I think it’s a little odd that Morgan went all the way to there car and emptied he shoes. What if the kids convicted her to go over there. It may seem like a kid would never do this but maybe it was the parents idea. And like you said, “ Everyone knows everyone...”
