I remember as a kid going to open meetings of my dad's AA chapter, and how open he was about it, and my mom talking about her experiences with AA and NA. I remember as a kid going to open meetings of my dad's AA chapter, and how open he was about it, and my mom talking about her experiences with AA and NA. Even though I'm sure it's uncomfortable to admit that stuff, especially to your kids, it can really help them put all of it into perspective and develop a mature and compassionate view on addiction and the people it affects.
