Advent has been answered. Grant Kirkhope did an episode of Super Beard Bros, where he explained it's actually left over music from Dream, and Advent is actually short for "Adventure", not actually related to the advent calendar
It was probably changed because the original rhyme didn't actually specify that you'd lose health, and they didn't want little kids to get confused when they did.
The early version of clankers cavern was originally called fungus forest, and was originally located where the click clock wood picture is in the final. This level then got changed into both the final clankers cavern, and fungi forest in donkey kong 64. Also there is an unused underwater version of wozzas cave I think, since the music never changes when underwater there as the walrus.
Banjo-Kazooie mysteries were one of my favorite things as a kid. The internet was still so new then so everything you'd find was speculation and poorly researched, like the "secret methods" of getting Mew or "Pikablu" in the original Pokemon games. EDIT ~ Ahhh, I recognized Tater-Tot Tunes immediately!! So cool.
Same here, I was scared of that game over cutscene when I was little as well, that I also got so terrified of seeing the game over cutscene of Yoshi story
The yellow jinjo in the opening might have to do with the golden sparkles that dance around the rare logo. I believe they’re the same as the ones a yellow Jinjo used when flying away. He might have needed to be loaded in to use the sparkles for the intro.
theory about the random yellow Jinjos in the cutscenes: they could've been used as anchor points for certain moving elements in the scenes or for the maps? from what I remember from some other videos (I think Boundary Break videos - shoutout to Shesez), developers sometimes use random objects as anchor points when building a scene or stage. plus, the Rare logo in the very first cutscene might've had its movement data tied to a Jinjo animation (that was probably scrapped), which might be why the Jinjo disappears as soon as the Rare logo exists. but that's just speculation and I'm absolutely not an expert on this sort of stuff, so take it with a grain of salt.
@MjrCinnaminBun You really think Yandere Simulator is better than Undertale? The man keeps adding more and more features to the game for no particular reason, and as far as I know, has only finished... one rival? The game's not even finished and it's been in development for 5 (maybe more) years at this point. It's going to become a stealth game, but there's very little actual stealth elements that have been added last time I bothered looking at it. He's already got plans to add features like security cameras, increasing levels of suspicion as more and more people are killed (again, last I checked). Yet, he hasn't gone to test them, but he'll gladly add a beat 'em up gameplay mechanic that can only be used in very specific scenarios that are unneeded, otherwise fighting is a QTE or literal one button press. Undertale was delayed and took 3 years. The features added were all added with purpose behind them. There's care behind the story. The themes aren't forced. Characters were designed specifically to feel like a proper character. The gameplay designed to be beatable by even those inexperienced in bullet hell games, and the difficulty of being a pacifist playing perfectly into the theme as well. Toby didn't go too far with his scope, and ended up releasing a well polished experience albeit delayed. With the way I see it, right now, I'm anticipating going to see Yandere Simulator release as a worse game many years later. It's going to be the Duke Nukem Forever of indie developers. An unfinished game that keeps getting bloated with content or reworks. Except this time there's no publisher to say enough is enough, and he's being funded by fans. Undertale is a complete experience right now that delivers what it aims to give you. Even given small updates to fix the few bugs there were and add a few crumbs of lore. It skyrocketed in popularity, fueled by the power of a Homestuck fandom back at its prime via Kickstarter. It grew popular, and popularity tends to make people hate things. I had a truly horrendous first experience with Undertale. Some dumb ass fan who owned a server, resigned as the owner, then shut down an entire server and used Chara to replace the website as his edgy response. I had an inherent disdain from that. Playing it quickly won me over though with its charm and simple but good gameplay. Maybe you're not an RPG guy, maybe you don't appreciate the themes behind it, or maybe your own opinion of the game is skewed by the fanbase. But, can you really call an unfinished game better than a finished game? A lot of things can change during development. For the better... or for the worse.
I found some more dialogue in a Gameshark site, including one that I did see as a kid. "GRAAR! THIS CONGO'S TREE! ME HIT TERMITE WITH ORANGES!" if you approach Conga as a termite. Advent might mean an advent calendar which happens to be connected to the entrance of freezeezy peak which means this could be an earlier track of the stage, or a theme for the hubworld outside the level.
Mumbo's Rain Dance has the Native American vocals that can be heard in Humba Wumba's tent, in Banjo Tooie. Advent is VERY similar to the music featured in Fungi Forest in Dinkey Kong 64. ...this makes sense, when one realizes Fungi Forest was supposed to be used in Banjo-Kazooie.
