The bus driver was nice about it because he understood that of course a ducati would break down on the side of the road and the rider is smiling and happy because he expected it :P
Man, Zack and Ari, a long long time ago I stumbled upon your channel and grew into whatever passion that it is that allowed me to purchase my very first bike, a 1976 Honda CB750, and I thank you for it. I plan on painting it and getting rid of the rust, but my biggest goal is just to learn and enjoy the ride and explore my states windy mountain roads. Once again thank you, and Motorcyclist Magazine, give Zack and Ari my best wishes, and please never stop uploading, you guys are fantastic!
honestly, mc commute is the most practical review series around. im pretty sure most of us barely or never go for track days and are probably riding our bikes in/around the city streets. Love these videos, keep it up.
I loved it how he got scared watching the scooters filter aggressively like that, that's how they do it all over the world, only in America you can see motorcycles stand in traffic like a car That's why you dont see scooters in America, it has no real advantage over a car in the dense city taffic
@@slomorenga because people are really pesky about it here. "if i have to wait in traffic, he (motorcyclist) has to wait too because that would be unfair". funny that they never complain about having AC and motorcyclists dont have it. im filtering only in heavy traffic when everyone is standing still for maximum safety and im really surprised about the rareness of road rage im encountering, considering in my city there is so much hate against motorcyclists. especially if they are loud. beeing a motorcyclist here is like beeing black in america 100 years ago
I love this video. I honestly watch it every few months to remind myself of my vision: have a Monster in Europe and ride in Monaco, Spain, Italy, & France.
Haha that police man was shouting at you as bikes aren't allowed in casino square, I know this as I got caught riding through it 😕 and you need to practice your filtering bar that I'm loving this series of commute reviews. Cheers Duncan
Hey Zach what's going on man I was originally kind of predisposed to MC garage with Ari, but I have to admit you're a little motovlog review videos have really grown on me. You both impart a lot of good information while being entertaining, and that's really what it's all about. Deuces brother
Great review with everything a punter would want to know about this bike, good riding & filming in a very schmicky location, only thing missing was Cary Grant sipping a coffee at one of those highbrow cafes.
How does nothing faze you lol, and add to that, u still gave a full commentary!!! Amazing!! Loved watching this review, Ducati... just give him one!!!!
Great video, although it is an odd feeling looking out over the handlebars and not being in control of the bike! (I know all your MC Commute videos are like that, but it is intensified in the city--just like your Brooklyn video). It's maddening to get lost at the time it happens, and hilarious looking back on it. I once drove around and around the old city in Florence (where it is only for pedestrians and delivery vehicles), looking for the car rental drop. Finally, a nice police woman laughingly pointed me in the right direction. Thanks for all your great videos. They really do give the viewer a sense of what the bikes are about.
This was better than usual....especially the lost part, sorry for you but i felt like a passenger having late lunch on the back seat. 😁😂👍 Good job, dude ! 👍
I own a 16 M1200R and test rode the 2017 on a ride day that following year. I agree with everything you said. I did miss the Marchesini's , Damper and bikini fairing. Great job as a Monte Carlo tour guide also. 😁
Nice video man. What can you say about the rear suspension of this Monster compared with the Speed Triple R in a more sport use. Both look amazing, but the SP3 have link and the Monster don't. This channel is amazing, thank you.
Great video, Zack! Though not the same area exactly, I spent two weeks in Rome in Dec-Jan 2010-2011, this offered some nice flashbacks. Crazy traffic, right? I wasn't stressed about traffic for months, after coming back to the States. Things here are pretty docile by comparison, usually. :-D
I'm debating between a Duc 1200S or a Yamah XSR900. Yeah I know very different but these are my top picks right now. Ducati much more expensive but how much better of a bike will I get? My moto technician/mechanic friends tell me to stay away from Ducati though due to all kinds of random reliability issues they say on a weekly basis. Thoughts guys?
seems funny watching a bike launch when I've done a few car launches at the same place. I watched you ride past the hotel we stay at and the Irish bar that's about the only cheap place there!
For a better sense of speed, many vloggers put a dark filter on it so that the shutter times are longer, which causes minor motion blur. I think it's that.
Interesting to see how you adapt your riding style to a new country. In the US you are incredibly slick, overseas I see you are a little more defensive. I am a riding instructor, so I find it funny to look at such things. One question: You seem to put the bike in neutral when stopped. Do you do that just about always? Keep up the good work.
i was hoping the review would be a bit more like the 2016 Monster 1200 R demonstrating the torque (low speed power wheelies) and braking (bit of slide) by exploring the bike a tiny bit more aggressively and how many of us would ride when commuting or on the daily..
Thanks Zack. Ill stick with my 016 Versy 650. Ive only got 12k usd but in NZ I can get a new 015 KTM 1050 Adv, which is a bargain in my mind. Keep up the commutes they are a real highlight.
Monaco. Wow. With all due respect, it looks like you were going around in circles. That said, we got as much info about the city's layout as the bike, and it's all good.
I am 15 and I want motorcycle if my dad gave me $2000 for fast quick bike would this he a good first bike? I have ridden on dirt which is basically the same thing and I am responsible and mature for my age. Also thinking of getting a turbo Hayabusa
I guess if I'd been in the vicinity of the Monaco GP track I'd have had to ride it too... but with so much insanely good riding in Europe I find that I spend almost zero time near large cities on the rare occasion I get over there and have time to rent a bike. Other than the touristing... that ride looked like zero fun.
You can go through cars in Monaco like a hot knife through butter. 😂 P.S. I believe the word "between" is the one you're looking for. Going through cars would not be a pretty sight. 😂
What a beautiful city. Lost with a Ducati...sounds like a win win situation.
Serious? Endless traffic jams is beautiful?
The bus driver was nice about it because he understood that of course a ducati would break down on the side of the road and the rider is smiling and happy because he expected it :P
one of your best commutes so far, heck....probably the best !!!
Yeah don't think I've ever seen a motovlog from Monaco before. Beautiful city. Loved seeing that grand prix corner by the casino(s). Very fascinating.

Same in Germany. German car drivers would shoot down everything passing them. That’s why guns are illegal here ;)
@@slomorenga because people are really pesky about it here. "if i have to wait in traffic, he (motorcyclist) has to wait too because that would be unfair". funny that they never complain about having AC and motorcyclists dont have it.

He’s from Cali lmao, he’s used to lane splitting
A Monster in Monaco and lost? As long as the company credit card holds out I'd stay that way a while!
Wow, getting lost in Monte Carlo on a Ducati Monster 1200..... I mean.... that's kind of the dream isn't it? lol. You're livin the dream Zach!
Jonathan Sporrong ...worst was the destination ending, that terrible looking hotel..
What was a Rolls doing driving up to that dump? haha
Personally I'd rather be lost trying to find the coast from Ronda southern Spain on this bike
Absolutely loved this. One of my favourites so far.
Absolutely loved this down-to-earth ride review video. Well done. Great scenery also.
I love this video. I honestly watch it every few months to remind myself of my vision: have a Monster in Europe and ride in Monaco, Spain, Italy, & France.
I was getting nervous watching you behind a car, LOL. Filter, man! Here it is legal. Or gray-area-nobody-really-cares-legal, anyway.
Was thinking the same thing.
Don't forget that he is reviewing/talking about the bike while he's riding :)
Haha that police man was shouting at you as bikes aren't allowed in casino square, I know this as I got caught riding through it 😕 and you need to practice your filtering bar that I'm loving this series of commute reviews. Cheers Duncan
Zack Courts yeah when us bikers aren't eating babies apparently we'r out to rob the wealthy coming out the casino 😕 hence ban
thanks guys for your videos I like then very much and I can't wait to buy my first motorcycle : )

Great vid, really great shots of the town, thumbs up!!!
That was fun! Thanks for the ride!
How does nothing faze you lol, and add to that, u still gave a full commentary!!! Amazing!! Loved watching this review, Ducati... just give him one!!!!
Awwww he didn't turn right at portier to go through the tunnel.
3:45, flashbacks from Grand Turismo.

What a flavorful place that is! Nice ride through a busy city.
This was better than usual....especially the lost part, sorry for you but i felt like a passenger having late lunch on the back seat. 😁😂👍
Good job, dude ! 👍
What microphone and camera do you use?
I own a 16 M1200R and test rode the 2017 on a ride day that following year. I agree with everything you said.
I did miss the Marchesini's , Damper and bikini fairing.
Great job as a Monte Carlo tour guide also. 😁
Lol you guys got the best job in the world! Great video thanks.
great review as always.
Nice bike, love the details on the new monsters, but the Steering looks small ?
Despite it being "properly dark now", those shots are still beautifully visible and well-exposed...
What sort of camera are you using? I want one :)
yeah the color looks pretty dope.
Hey Zack, at the end you got better! In South Europe we don't split the lane, we cross the line...
Nice video man.
What can you say about the rear suspension of this Monster compared with the Speed Triple R in a more sport use. Both look amazing, but the SP3 have link and the Monster don't.
This channel is amazing, thank you.
great tour of Monaco (and the Ducati)! Yamaha VMax next??
I love that bike!
Nice Zack! Did you ever see European Vacation? "Look kids - Big Ben!" x10 lol
Does the hidrolic clutch make a difference? Compared to the tuono's clutch for example?
The place & bike look amazing.
Monaco is cool. Nice vid Zack!
I enjoy these MC Commutes. Has anybody ever mentioned that you sound like Mordecai from the Regular Show ?
Great video, Zack! Though not the same area exactly, I spent two weeks in Rome in Dec-Jan 2010-2011, this offered some nice flashbacks. Crazy traffic, right? I wasn't stressed about traffic for months, after coming back to the States. Things here are pretty docile by comparison, usually. :-D
Zack, love your MC Commute series.
How does the 1200s compare to the 1200R? Worth the extra cash?
I'm debating between a Duc 1200S or a Yamah XSR900. Yeah I know very different but these are my top picks right now. Ducati much more expensive but how much better of a bike will I get? My moto technician/mechanic friends tell me to stay away from Ducati though due to all kinds of random reliability issues they say on a weekly basis. Thoughts guys?
How's the rear brake feel, and does it have noticeable stopping power when going slow/through corners?
I'm curious about the new Hyosung GD250R! Would be great to see a comparison between that and the new little Katana 250!
i wish i could be riding right now, getting lost in Minneapolis is always kinda fun.
13:55 Is that the flash of a speeding ticket??
Awesome video!
loved the bike as well scenery
Love the monster what jacket u wearing
I'm torn between this and the BMW S1000R to buy next year I'll be 40 then. I have to ride the Aprilia Touno and The MT10 as well.
seems funny watching a bike launch when I've done a few car launches at the same place. I watched you ride past the hotel we stay at and the Irish bar that's about the only cheap place there!
which camera is that? its not a gopro according to the low light performance
For a better sense of speed, many vloggers put a dark filter on it so that the shutter times are longer, which causes minor motion blur. I think it's that.
How bad is the heat compared to an 899 Panigale?
I'm looking forward to the Ducati Supersport review.
Lucky You! Great video, thanks.
I am very happy with my 1200s larger tank... can someone guide me on what brand is his jacket, thank you guys
so how weirded out was ducati at the end Zack? BTW scooters is a city thing not a europe thing
Well, it is more like "italy and spain" thing, greece to, I guess...
Can you guys do one on the Ducati hypermotard 939 SP. Would be Epic!
With a USA bike license can i ride in Europe or is there some license bs?
I know this is an old video but can someone confirm if the 2017 monster 1200 R also has a quick shifter
saw the 1000PS Video about the 1200S today. . . they had a sick lineup of Monster's there. (30-ish)
Volkswagen make some great fucking cars though.
And what brand would be better?

Monster 1200's clutch is pretty heavy, if you are not used to it (which he isn't), after some 10 seconds your palm begins to hurt really bad!
Ducati monster 1200, really beast ,havocs.
Is that a Renault Twizzy that I keep seeing parked with the bikes as well as on the left side on the last shot???
Tomos13 Yes.
You've managed to make the commute on a Monster Ducati dull and painful to watch. Let Zack ride man!
Can you guys somehow review the new CB650F/CBR650F?
i was hoping the review would be a bit more like the 2016 Monster 1200 R demonstrating the torque (low speed power wheelies) and braking (bit of slide) by exploring the bike a tiny bit more aggressively and how many of us would ride when commuting or on the daily..
You gotta do an MC Commute on a 2017 Grom through a city. See how it compares to the big bikes.
Looks like a great place to be.
What jacket is that?
You missed the biggest opportunity to make a GTA 5 pun out of that "MC Lost" joke...
I love the Ducati bikes but is it true that they are alway in the shop? Any of you Ducati guys have a opinion I have alway wanted a monster.
roger jensen I have a 2015 Monster 821 and I have never had any issues, absolutely love it!
True for older models, some models often have issues with cooling especially if the bike is in tropical conditions.
Yeah we roasting all that green, so it dissolves quicker otherwise there's just too much. That's how we do.
That place looks like a death trap. No thanks
I've been there and didn't really like it. and I was on foot. And they had not so many cunstruction sights back then. Looks ugly right now....
Of Zack your money, call it, Speed triple or Monster?
Thanks Zack. Ill stick with my 016 Versy 650.
Ive only got 12k usd but in NZ I can get a new 015 KTM 1050 Adv, which is a bargain in my mind.
Keep up the commutes they are a real highlight.
So disappointed when he turned away from the tunnel :(
This or the Ktm 1290 super duke? having hard time to decide :(
TVB super duke is a beast but i feel like it's a little too much. Monster is lighter and easier
who would have want a GREY ducati , its almost looks like they put the primer and forget to put the paint ?
Have a monstrous good night 😊
yeahh!!! european lane splitting
Being lost in Monte Carlo probably doesn't suck as much as some other places.
Monaco. Wow. With all due respect, it looks like you were going around in circles. That said, we got as much info about the city's layout as the bike, and it's all good.
Anyone know what jacket he's wearing?
I haven't heard of iXS before, have you had it long? Is the set you use on the usual commutes iXS too?
Those scooters are way faster, you should get one of those.
I think a little scooter or Grom is the way to go in Monaco traffic.
right bike wrong place lol
Funny how a brand new Ducati gets no second looks and how scooters dust you - reminds me of feeling ripped and taking my shirt off on south beach
damn, monaco is a damn pretty city
+Jack you must come to India do a MC commute on an Indian motorcycle. You will find it real fun riding in India.
Awesome idea - bike would be biggest bus in town?
Ducati should always be red
MC commute euro style ;) over here you can split lanes!
I am 15 and I want motorcycle if my dad gave me $2000 for fast quick bike would this he a good first bike? I have ridden on dirt which is basically the same thing and I am responsible and mature for my age. Also thinking of getting a turbo Hayabusa
4/10 troll
How can you be lost in Mónaco?!
that is a beautiful city and of course a beuty bike indeed
Everybody living in that city is either a millionaire or a nanny.
Riding on a crowded street really not an easy thing.
"rush hour in monte carlo", lane spilt/filter that monster through man.
You can go through cars in Monaco. If you wait behind a car at a stop or red light people will look at you weird.
You can go through cars in Monaco like a hot knife through butter. 😂
P.S. I believe the word "between" is the one you're looking for. Going through cars would not be a pretty sight. 😂
