Love your stuff. The 'will it shoot' series is great! It's such a relief given the countless hours I've spent trying to find answers on alternative calibers in milsurps only to read the same unhelpful comments infinitely. Thanks!
Its known they were using any parts they could get to build rifles at the end. There is a documented Type99 with a 12 or so inch barrel that was brought back from the factory in Japan during the occupation.
The outside of the barrel is so crudely machined it looks bulged. But a careful examination of the inside shows its not. It’s just that crude. That being said it still shoots and cycles well enough. The workmanship would not be very confidence inspiring if i was handed that.
@Dominic1962 the action is smooth because i greased it. It has a wooden buttplate but has sling swivels. The rear one is a single screw type one. It seems to work fairly well for what it is and the chamber seems tighter than some of the early ones ive had.
@@WastelandArmorer By smooth I meant the machining on the action, but of course it’s hard to see finer details in videos. I don’t think I’ve ever handled an Arisaka that the action wasn’t fairly smooth. Hell of a find for a quarter of a Bill!
You ought to reach out to Rackum Projects and see if he can replicate that upper handguard. And Lord love a duck, you have that much snow already? I live in northern Canada and haven't seen that much. Yet.

What is the series and Arsenal? It doesn’t look extreme last ditch, so it’s still a solid 99.
Nagoya arsenel 11th series
@@WastelandArmorer Oh, that is later. Looked a little smoother. Wooden buttplate and rope hole?

Its already melted off. We had over a foot a week ago. Montana truly is the land of extremes. Last year it got to -30F. This summer it hit +120F.
