It doesn’t appear to be 200mph because it’s tiny. A full size boat moving 200mph would actually “appear” to be going 200. My rc car doesn’t look like it’s going 50, but it is.
actually, I find it to be the other way around, if the boat or car or aircraft is longer, then it appears to pass it length in a longer time and thus appears to be going slower the longer it is.
That doesn't make sense, as something small scale looks like it's going even faster, and to scale it usually is, but that didn't look like it was going 200mph to me.
Hey, as a school project were making rc raceboats, any tips for making an outrigger. we will be making it out of glass fibre so shape wise a lot is possible, my cam skill are reasonably good to. So any tips for ponson shape or anything related to outriggers is welcome, im tryharding for this project and want to kick some ass.
Hello Jeroen, the first thing you have to decide is whether you need a boom for a SAW rigger or which one for an oval rigger. I can only give you the tip to register in a forum, you will certainly be helped there. In Germany there are a lot of model builders in the RC Raceboat Forum. In America it's Offshore Electrics Forum. (google translator) My english is to bad.
Incidentally, I have not been active for 5 years now and only operate this channel. This year there will probably not be many videos either because all events in Germany are forbidden because of "Corona".
Fast RC Boats il give thosse forums a try. I can speak a little german since im dutch so that wont be a problem. Also whats the difference betweeen a SAW rigger or an oval rigger. And whats a boom?
@@jeroenbeskers3012 Bei einem "SAW" Rigger geht es nur über 100 m gerade aus mit maximaler Geschwindigkeit. Wow so many people don’t believe how fast these little riggers can go. Most of these people never owned or built an rc boat that goes over 50mph lmao. That thing is crazy. Next time show us the GPS so all the crybabies can calm down
There are no GPS measurements from this rigger (also no space in the fuselage). This rigger was built exclusively for SAW events and there a distance of 100 m is measured over 2 light barriers. It's even more accurate than GPS. But there are videos on my channel where you can see your world record runs with an average speed of over 100 m. An official rating means that the boat has to drive 2x 100 m in quick succession in the opposite direction. I totally agree with you that for most it is hard to believe.
ruclips.net/video/DvTpkAt3tnE/видео.html And here is an older video with the still current world record. At the end you can also see the display where the light barrier is used for the evaluation.
@@AB-80X His post is serious. The pass in the video is not the 206mph pass. If anyone doesn't know what an RC boat looks like, at 60/100/200mph on the water, check out the other videos of this specific rigger on this channel.
@@poebemaryn You don't have to believe it, even if it corresponds to the facts. Ihr müsst das ja nicht glauben, auch wenn es den Tatsachen entspricht. Jeder der sich mit SAW Racing beschäftigt weiss das es stimmt und kann es in den offiziellen Listen nach schlagen.
@@poebemaryn, probably you do not know who are those guys: this is the worldwide elite, everything self built after many years of experience … and speed measurements are official … what you believe, is just yours …
All speeds that were not used in official competitions such as "SAW" are determined with GPS. SAW speeds are determined as the average speed over a measuring distance of 100 meters using a light barrier. This procedure is even more precise than a GPS measurement.
Impossible @ 206 mph. Don't believe it in I've seen riggers run as fast as 125 and it takes a longer stretch be of water to get it flying across the water. So it's impossible to go that fast
There is nothing to discuss about. Everyone knows where in the SAW scene knows what speeds are driven by Arne, Gunnar and Jörg (Jag's team). Moreover, this is all officially measured by photocell over 100 meters. It is also just the pure top speed. The world record is also by Jörg according to SAW regulations with 314 km / h avg. (sorry google translator)
ruclips.net/video/cRXafcIwvkY/видео.html It is impossible for those riggers, correct. But that's the only thing you got right. The riggers are working with a fraction of the horsepower of these SAW boats. That's why they are so slow in comparison. The flip side is that they can run at top speed for more than a few seconds, unlike these boats that are pulling hundreds of amps for a very short burst and trying not to smoke themselves in the process.

The 40 -50k rpm range is not high enough for this boat. I'm running electric - driven outrigger boats for oval - racing - use for years at this rpm level. This boat runs at a significant higher rpm level. You could hear the difference. I think the Jörg - Mrkwitschka - outrigger needs around 70k rpm for its maximum speed. LMT motors offer custom - made versions with a titanium ring around the rotor ( rpm limit 100k ... not only 65k ). J. Mrkwitschka' s battery is extraordinary powerful for its size. I never heard how powerful his battery really is. But remembering data from former record attempts... with lower power level on board ... I think his battery is able to bring out 22 or 23 kW peak. In my opinion... not bad for a battery pack weighing not much more than 1100 gr. 😉.

I dont know. With the RC boats, the absolute record of an official measurement is at an average speed of 314 km / h according to the SAW rules.
Way more power and far less resistance once at speed.
maybe they are smarter than rc cars:) and do things right
Less drag on a hydro like this.

Holly shit.i thought mine was fast

I don't know any "SAW" rigger who turns around.
They are straight line boats.
Pretty funny how people spout nonsense. The saw record 15 years ago was 160mph. This is as lagit as it gets.
The old SAW record was also driven by Jörg in the USA. The current one is also owned by Jörg and was driven in Munich 2017 / 315 km/h. Video from 2017: ruclips.net/video/DvTpkAt3tnE/видео.html
I thought it was 331k km/h
It doesn’t appear to be 200mph because it’s tiny. A full size boat moving 200mph would actually “appear” to be going 200. My rc car doesn’t look like it’s going 50, but it is.
actually, I find it to be the other way around, if the boat or car or aircraft is longer, then it appears to pass it length in a longer time and thus appears to be going slower the longer it is.
That doesn't make sense, as something small scale looks like it's going even faster, and to scale it usually is, but that didn't look like it was going 200mph to me.

Fastest submarine
Kinda what I was thinking. I think to be an official boat there needs to be a certain percentage above the water line
do you have that on a gps speed tracker?
All speeds that were not used in official competitions such as "SAW" are determined with GPS. SAW speeds are determined as the average speed over a measuring distance of 100 meters using a light barrier. This procedure is even more precise than a GPS measurement.
Here you can see the German SAW Homepage with the record and topped list.
rc-saw.de/viewpage.php?page_id=20
Impossible @ 206 mph. Don't believe it in I've seen riggers run as fast as 125 and it takes a longer stretch be of water to get it flying across the water. So it's impossible to go that fast
There is nothing to discuss about. Everyone knows where in the SAW scene knows what speeds are driven by Arne, Gunnar and Jörg (Jag's team). Moreover, this is all officially measured by photocell over 100 meters. It is also just the pure top speed. The world record is also by Jörg according to SAW regulations with 314 km / h avg. (sorry google translator)
WD - you are dead wrong, since you're on the internet.. do some research.
ruclips.net/video/cRXafcIwvkY/видео.html
It is impossible for those riggers, correct.
You think it's impossible because you're ignorant and have a bad attitude.

Would like to know prop, motor and batt specs...thinking rpms are 40 to 50k range
Check out the other videos of this 8S1P rigger. In one video I wrote all the data and info under "comments".

Hello how you can get this color?
I do not know. It's not my boat. But looks like neon color.
I'm just saying that it looks to me like that's 60 to 90 mph at best. Its definitely not 206 mph or whatever you claim it is. Other than that nice job. It's got so much torque it dives into the water bf it plans out lol
It's weird that this rigger ran 177 mph in 2016 and 2017 195 mph avg. That's why these values are right. Or someone comes again and writes that the measuring system was not calibrated properly. And this for 3 years in a row.
Well that's all fine and dandy but until I see proof then to me it does not look that fast at all. Its definitely fast for sure. Like in the rc cars they will show you the speed. But I just don't see 206 on the water when I watched another boat that was black run o shit it was well over 100 mph and bf he showed its speed I guessed it around 95 and yes I was off but I was closer to guessing at it than this boat and I dont see proof that this boat runs that fast. I'm not trying to be a dick, ass, troll or any of the other slangs. Just want you to know that bc anyone can read something and it get taken the wrong way. You know what I mean? And I respect what you said but until me and I'd say many other people see proof that this boat runs as fast as claimed we not gonna believe it. And if you do show proof then I will gladly type anything in the comment section that you want me to. Thanks for your info. And I will say again that is a sweet boat and it definitely is fast. One question. What is it made of? If you don't want to give that info out I totally respect that.
What in America the "NAMBA" is, is the "RC-SAW" in Germany. Here is a link where all official records can be found. There is also a file with the top speeds. I also think that all American SAW driver Jörg M. from the Jag`s team understands. Each of our SAW competitions takes place in Munich, at which time the "Oktoberfest" takes place. Anyone who does not believe it can come by and watch the spectacle or go for a ride. Then, of course, observe the rules where to comply. In the first video of 2016 you will also find all information about the boat under the video (see more).

Why do people in Europe use a comma as a decimal point instead of a full stop?
Read here: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dezimaltrennzeichen
Most of the world uses a comma.
It’s the main reason behind Brexit 🤣. Comma for thousand separator and full stop for a decimal separator, this should be the international standard.
Who do the people in North America, descended largely from European immigrants, use a period instead of a comma..?
Because we are well educated people - and it is the correct use.
