Incredible guitar for the money! I bought one to take to a men's retreat I was leading worship at as I knew there would be lots of camp fires and smoke everywhere. Didn't want to ruin my Martin D18. What I didn't expect is I fell in love with this guitar. It's not my D18 or my Gibson J15 but for the money, ...whoa!
Will Vallarino Music the Savannah parlor guitar is actually quite good. Not any other size just the Parlor. It has no base but it does have a very smooth High tone and very good naturally word because Lee body is so light and small.
I bought the FG830 and for the money I love it. Great road/ gigging guitar. I own a Martin and honestly I play the Yamaha the most. Loved this guitar from the time I picked it up at the guitar shop.
I have this guitar. My nephew has the fg800, different wood on back/sides. Both sound great. I love the looks of my rosewood back/sides. It’s gorgeous.
If you're trying to get a guitar on a budget GET A YAMAHA! I have this guitar and my friend has the less expensive one, they both are great guitars (I like mine better of course) but seriously, this is a great guitar. Sounds amazing, stays in tune, gets the job done.
I just bought my FG 830 and you better believe I'm very happy, now I love acoustic guitar more but it just blows my mind out how Yamaha is able to give you so much more for less money my guitar with tax cost me $321.00 so you know I was happy that was my whole check good thing I don't have a girlfriend, cause my ass would have never been able to look at it.But my 830 is always gonna be with me,and I already got 56 songs already recorded on my phone already from my F325 the old beat on.the strings are brushing and the trush rod is broken, but I get this badass tremelo effect tone going on it's awesome too,got it for $100 bucks it's gonna be real hard for or me to leave that guitar,so next month I'm gonna buy the FG 800 so I can put the beat on back in the closet..Mann...that's gonna be a sad day for me cause I used that guitar to heal myself I was in a lot of pain,I lost my pharmeceutical job my $100,000 dollar studio and my apartment so I had to leave Vegas to find another job, Mann..I been through hell, and back so you better believe that F325 took a beating..lol...I'm okay now a new job and religion and a new life..
I recently bought a yamaha fgx830c which is a very nice guitar. I bought it to replace a low end takamine I had. I have had ebony bridge pins installed. When my strings go dead, I'll have a bone nut and saddle installed. This guitar isn't as good as my martin d18, but still a very nice guitar. If you're looking for a good guitar, then grab this one.
I hadn’t played any of my guitars in a week or two. I pulled out my 830 CE and man what a sound. I didn’t have it plugged in or anything. I just messed around on it for a few minutes. This guitar is my budget hd28 which I still hope to get someday. For the price it is quite good and very glad I can plug in it in. Even if the rosewood is laminate back and sides, I still get some of that bass tone that i really like. My guitar sounds so good playing country and bluegrass.
Wow you're a very good guitar player..I could listen to you play all day! Thank you for this video..I am planning on getting this guitar! :) Have a great day!
No offense to acoustic letter, but singer/ songwriter here, been playing for 30 years, and to me it seems they really downplayed this guitar. . . am I saying it's an awesome guitar and better than a 2 grand Martin or Taylor, no certainly not, but for the price it's a great guitar, and not just for the beginner either, but even for someone well seasoned as myself, the poor Joe on a budget. I've seen videos where this guitar sounded a whole lot better, they played the ax a mile away from the Mic for starters. So for all those of you looking for a great guitar on a budget lemme tell you something, don't be afraid to look away from the Titan guitar manufacturers, such as Gibson, Martin, Taylor, guild, and the more boutique brands. Yes they are nice, but let's be real folks how many of us have 3 grand laying around the house to spend ??? Honestly right now I'm rocking a Fender cd160 acoustic, and ya know what it sounds pretty darn good, would I upgrade beck yeah, but in all honesty my opinion, if it's over 1500 , believe me when I say u are spending on looks alone, and branding. It's like this 1500$ + 20 % sound, 40% looks and materials used, 40% branding, meaning paying to keep our boys here at home in good old USA in job, ( Not that there's anything wrong with that) I support jobs here at home myself, you bet !!! but you know how it is with the corporate big shots , they gotta have their million dollar homes and all . . . Anyways back to issue at hand, I am seriously thinking of upgrading to the A series, why ??? Well for 800 some bucks , you get an awesome guitar, great quality, great sound, good electronics, and even a case . Now if u ask me when poor Joe has a wife & 3 kids to feed, a mortgage, a car loan and bills etc. even 800 bucks can seem steep, but at least it's more doable then 3 k. Moral of the story ??? don't be afraid to really look around try every single guitar in sight , do ur home work. The big boys ain't the end all be to owning a great guitar.
I agree i really would LOVE a Taylor 320e but they are going for like 1600 bucks! That's just a bit much for me. I have a Yamaha F335, a Fender CD-140SCE all mahogany, a Gibson LG-0 (passed down to me) and an Ibanez PF-15ece. I fell in love with my F335's neck it has a black satin neck and it is a DREAM to play on. So much so that i want to pick up a FGX820C Yamaha acoustic as it has the same neck but has a lot more sound and electronics behind it. I used to have a Taylor 110e and let me tell you what i have played some guitars at HALF the cost that give it a really big run for its 800 dollar price tag.... Taylor makes a beautiful guitar but a lot of that money goes into the looks and materials used to make it so pretty. They are nice but i can buy a few REALLY good playing guitars for the price of one high end Taylor. I like options. And Yamaha has GREAT options. I also love my Fender as well. That thing has one of the most beautiful finishes i've ever seen on a guitar.
I agree. Is this laminated guitar so much worse than be Taylor or Martin laminate? Or even the solid wood Recording King? I think The next step Up is probably all solid wood Blueridge or other models. But of course it's all a matter of taste and I change my mind often
Yamaha makes one of the best guitars I've ever played I have Taylor's... Gibsons ... fenders and so on I would compare the Yamaha 830 to any of them been playing for years
I have a FG820L and a Larrivee D-02 (solid mahogany b&s). I'm finding it harder and harder to pick up the Larrivee, to be honest. Harmonics, overtones, bass... they're all more full and rich on the Yamaha.
Hahaha I have a FG-730 as a "beater guitar). I had 5 high- end (05, 09 and 10s) larrivee, all traded or sold now. Can't say the Yamaha is better, but it's certainly just as good. With a good setup, the Larrivees are still difficult to play, but the Yamaha plays almost as easy as a stratocaster. The Larrivees are perhaps a bit louder, but the Yamaha is stronger in the overtones. I tried the 800s. I find that they project more than 700s but gives a up a bit of richness. I suppose it's style dependent. If I have to be honest, the Yamaha is just as good as any of my other 15 guitars (most of which are in the 2000 dollar range).
Y’all crazy as a bat if you think the 800 series Yamaha are better than a Larrivee they are great instruments for the money but sound wise Larrivee smokes the low end Yamaha
How is the fgx800c ? How is its base ? Fgx830c is not available in our country .. only fgx800c is available. If I want to take Yamaha, I have to take this guitar. So I want to know what kind of guitar it is ? Is it right to play live, on stage and in studio ?
If you're looking for something similar in a smaller package, look at the yamaha FS830. Practically the same guitar (solid sitka top and laminate rosewood back and sides) but in smaller folk acoustic body instead of the dreadnought. It's still an amazing sounding guitar, especially for the price point, and much better suited for those of smaller stature!
I’m new and I’ve been playing that exact same fg830 for like 6 months now and my finger tips still hurt. You have a ton of guitars. Is the action on the 830 considered higher than normal in your opinion? Ty.
I'll tell you how sold I am on the FG830. Sold enuff to rebuy the same guitar that I traded for a Martin Dreadnoght a few weeks ago. This guy is going nowhere any time soon!!!
I have recently purchased this guitar,I've been playing over 30 years ,and have had about the same amount of guitars.I have to say this guitar is great in the right hands, but if you were a beginner I wouldn't recommend it, because you need to be precise and firm with this guitar ,and I know from experience when I was a beginner I had very little of either To sum it up its a great guitar for the money ,But a great guitar should be easy to play ,and this isn't.if I was a beginner again I would buy a slim neck classical guitar ,so much easier to play and much more forgiving.
Laminated, but the top is solid and torrefied for age. With that said, it absolutely doesn't look laminated. The fit and finish is flawless. Setup was perfect on mine although I setup guitars myself for a hobby. Double-check before you buy and ask the store if they have a second one if you're not satisfied. This guitar puts many guitars 5 to 10x its price to shame and will blow you away on the first strum (assuming it's in tune). I have a Custom Taylor 516e with bear-claw Sitka Spruce top and curly mahogany back and sides and enjoy playing the FG830 equally well, with the advantage going to the FG830 in terms of volume (which will blow you away) and sustain. I did a lot of experimentation with various saddles too (changing saddles 30 or 40 times to really understand the differences in tone) and ultimately concluded that the urea saddle that comes with the guitar actually suits the guitar very well. I cannot remember the characteristics of the sound all the saddles I tested, but I remember Tusq was BY FAR the worst--way too hard a material, and the sound was brittle for lack of a better word. I ultimately concluded that Taylor's Micarta saddle suited this guitar best (and fit perfectly), with the the urea saddle in second place, followed by bone and ivory. Also, with the Taylor saddle, this guitar's intonation is PERFECT--even better than my Taylor or any other acoustic I've owned. This video does not do justice to the in-person sound, and I wouldn't even recognize the sound as coming from an FG830 if I had my eyes closed. The EQ is way off. For less than $300 (on sale), there is no better made or better sounding guitar in my opinion, and I own 14 guitars and have played hundreds of them for 35 years. I will never sell this guitar.
@@rroman3891 under the FG series information on the Yamaha site, you will find (since 2017 or newer models) the following: "Yamaha’s exclusive Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) uses heat, humidity and atmospheric pressure to accelerate the aging of the wood. The A.R.E. process gives the instrument a rich, vintage-quality tone, producing a sound as if you’ve been playing it for years"
Hello! which one is better fgx800c vs fgx830c? Is it worth the upgrade from nato to rosewood? price differencr would be 200 bucks. please repl, really need some help.
The rosewood is a veener over a cheaper laminate such as beech or Basswood. These strips are glued together, the glue interferes with the resonance to such an extent that it doesn't matter what laminate strips you use. The side and back when laminate therefore add very little to the overall sound.
