As someone who lived in San Antonio for many years, I agree with Hat Films assessment of the city and all it's landmarks. I moved to it, I disliked it, I moved, every else has been better
Well that's because all the "landmarks" are tourist traps lmao, you have to go to actually decent places, not just sit downtown and wait to be entertained by throwing money at things.
@@ReunionMana 3 years later it is still true. Had family come in from California dying to go see the Alamo and they were very dissapointed in it and then took them to see Mission San Jose and it was what they thought the alamo would be
My favorite part was easily Smith saying "changing tactics, I need to put the pressure on" (Ross and Trott) and then immediately feeling pressured by Ross askdjfldgdfh that bit had me crying
This custom mode is awesome! It's fun to see you guys remember the places you've been and the stories that go with them. I still think the Famous Places mode could be fun too... just sayin'
Interesting tidbit about the "nude jogging", in Germany anyone can opt-out of their home or buisness being shown on streetview because of privacy rights. This makes it much more expensive for Google to photograph the cities and therefore Germany is barely covered at all compared to its neighbours. Really enjoying the Geoguessr, keep it coming!
Well, if there's one thing I can take away from this it's that I should never bother visiting San Antonio. Well done to whoever made this map, very nice work!
One of the few things I (as a Brit) know about Boston (and I think New England in general?) is that its road layout is almost as chaotic as European cities (certainly when compared to the much more grid-like layout of US cities further to the west), so that one jumped out at me almost immediately
I love watching you guys play this. I don't honestly enjoy watching people be absolutely perfect at it; you three are competent enough to be enjoyable but not so much it's boring. Great stuff!
It seems like such a simple concept but I am really enjoying this stuff! Especially these rounds where you're going to places you've been, it's a fun little insight on some stories that didn't make it into the vlogs and a chance for us, who haven't gone to the places to have a look around. Definately some great content here boiks, keep it up!
Also, poor San Antonio, how dare you, hahaha I don't think it's that bad, but I also have family there, so it's always super enjoyable to visit there for me! Also, they have Big Red there, and it's my favorite soda ever, hehehe, strawberry, super sweet, and such a treat!!
That fourth round in the first game knew right away what city it was cause of being from Massachusetts. Can’t believe that Trott thought it was California.
I see we're continuing the tradition of speeding past massive clues. A road sign that says the street you're on? No thanks. A school bus with the exact district you're in? Nah
Yeah, Boston kicks ass. Pretty much as historical as you can get in the US, and the city has a bunch of super varied regions and stuff. Super cool city.
You bois need to visit Colorado some day, I have a feeling Smith especially would enjoy it, lots of cool things to do in Denver, and Rocky Mountain National Park is only a couple hours away.
I'm biased for living there for 10 years but I agree! Denver and the surrounding area is so beautiful. I think they'd really enjoy the natural acoustics of Red Rocks as well.
Yeah, my wife's family is about 100 miles away and my family is about 300 and we make those trips semi-often (I mean, not recently with everything, but otherwise at least a couple/three times a year). And that's all in one state.
Love it lads, keep doing more!! Can't believe geoguessr is pretty much completely paid now. I wanted to play it again after watching these, but instead I'll live vicariously through these vids!
I went on a motorcycle road trip through Oregon and California. Bend is really beautiful but my way there was kinda shit hahah. It was raining and hailing on my way through and had to stop for the night at a motel. So when I saw it on this I could recognize it right away. I've literally been on that road.
I love how simple terms sound foreign because they are, in fact, foreign to the US. When Smithy said "we went down THE I-5," I smirked. We don't say "THE I-5". We just say "We went down I-5." Fairly small detail that stood out nonetheless.
There are definitely people who say "The I-5" and they are all in WA lmao. It's very strange as a NorCal person to hear, just as weird as SoCal just saying "The 5." Oregonians are a wash though, I have never noticed any consistency of preference. Language is weird and fun! :)
I'd like to see more UK Geoguessr, obviously i'm biased as I live here, but it's fun to see the difference between cities and areas in our little countries, as opposed to opposite ends of America or the world.
Did Ross AND Trott just walk around inside a city and then guess they were in the middle of a forested national park? That's...impressive, even by the boiks standards.
Nice. Enjoying these :) Now do a virtual tour of some nice geoguesser places you've been, but using microsoft flight sim in VR. You have the technology ;)
Wow, I'm surprised but yeah I IMMEDIATELY recognized almost all of those, the instant recognition of my state was funny too. Boston is an old city too, doesn't have a block system since it was basically made during the revolutionary war or under colonists so. It has very british american roots.
I'm from Austin, not San Antonio, but I definitely understand that sentiment about Texas in general haha (still a beautiful state if you know where to go) edit: glad to hear they wished they could've visited Austin!
Smith poking fun on the US for their "historic" churches being new is amusing. I remembers someone in the past calling an US mansion ancient, one of the oldest in the area, and it was around 100 years old. While I'm over here in Europe with a family farm we spend much of our summers on with several houses at around 120 years old. It's fairly old, sure, but even in the surrounding area there are multiple older ones and a 300 year old church, which we'd consider fairly new for a church as the main church in the city we live in is 600 years old.
Trott has extensive knowledge of GB since he had to navigate to all those dogging spots
You mean his Jilling spots
Not to mention scouting out all those places to go cottaging
Fucking hell ross, that line broke me “if you live in San Antonio, move. “
i was expecting him to apologize on smith's behalf. lmao

Trott and Ross: Obviously in the middle of a town
Also Trott and Ross: I'm going to guess in the middle of the wilderness miles from civilization
I love how they all found a different wrong 4th street in LA
Its like the King's head pub in England, there's a different one in every town
@@holtender1029 or even worse, like my town, multiple King's Heads in the same town 😅

Hell yes, I could watch this every week until the sun burns out
A 30 minute video, now that does put a smile on my face.
ahaha 13:59 trott gets just about the furthest possible distance you could get in the continental US
"It's so fake."
- Alex Smith's deep insights on California, 2021
He's not wrong, tho
@@nakenmil It's California, of course he's not wrong.
Wow, Finland has very diverse climates! It's crazy how there can be both lush green trees and also arid desert right next to each other.
Well, it _is_ called the land of a thousand climates.
Smith you glassed right over a BOSTON POLICE CAR!!! :D
I don't know why, but I really do like these GeoGuessr videos

When in Boston, Smithy actually looks at the Freedom Trail which is probably the biggest indicator
Or the sign that had the Green Monster (Red Sox) on it. He even zoomed in to look at it.
@@dancingonfire6212 Or the police SUV he glossed over that literally said "Boston" on it.
@@B0nd07 lmao came to the comments for this
At 12:18 Smith passed the first bar I ever got drunk in. It's quite an honor.
From GeoWizard banging out a no move in one click anywhere in the world, to Trott having 0 clue about places hes actually been...
Ross: Sees plenty of large roads and buildings in a well built up area.
Also Ross: Puts marker in the middle of a National Park 🤔🤦
When I saw those blurred buildings I immediately knew that's Germany. 😁

keep it up boiks, you guys just helped me win a quiz because i knew where Andorra was from your last couple videos :)
I don't know why I enjoy this so damn much

Really enjoying this series guys, and the sheer length of the videos are extraordinary! Definitely pumped for more guessing/nostalgia chats.
I see we're continuing the tradition of speeding past massive clues. A road sign that says the street you're on? No thanks. A school bus with the exact district you're in? Nah

"94 miles, that's nothing to an American" I mean, literally yes. My round trip to work and back home is about 100 miles.

25-30 minutes is an ideal sweet spot for a Hat Films video for me
The round 3 one was their stop in Visalia, aka my hometown, where they got that In and Out and felt our main export, crippling heat.
Did they stop in Bakersfield in a vlog? I was surprised to see it come up
