Lock maneuvers

Lock maneuvers require special care. A lot can happen in a confined space, especially when commercial shipping is involved. As a rule, commercial shipping enters and exits the lock first. You should always keep a safe distance from the propeller water of the ships, as you can clearly see in the video.
And always carry the lines to the lock chamber wall manually, as mooring could have fatal consequences. It is often a good idea to first moor to a bollard with the stern line and then steam in forwards. A boat hook is helpful here. It is very advantageous if you enter the lock later and then hand over your line to another boat. No stress with lines and you go out again first.
