In the video we are finishing up the small amount of hay that was just a little green at the end of the last video. You’ll see me; Ted hay with the Krone tedder and Oliver 1650, rake with the Gehl 310 and Deutz 6150, bale with the New Holland 326 and Oliver 1650, and load the hay on the trailer while my truck drive itself.

You got that New Holland dialed in.

Yeah it's been working well for me. Probably the best decision I ever made was to get a high capacity small square baler, way different than the smaller balers.

Brother you are having too much fun loading and driving solo, I remember those days. Yes it's always nice to have you dad alongside helping. Keep safe friend.

Pretty talented you must have a creeper gear still on that truck I didn’t know you could still get them

Thanks. My truck has a 6 speed manual and I put it in low and 4x4 low and it goes pretty slow.

Why not just bale into a wagon?

Nice looking hay .. I can’t convince my patch of straight og to yield … it’s a nice looking stand but just won’t make bales.. I was willing to bet that the Tom you mentioned in the last video is the same Tom that I know..turns out it is and I talked to him last week lol

Yeah I’ve learned that straight orchard grass has to have nitrogen. We have usually had mixed orchard grass hay. And nitrogen always helps but the difference between with and without on straight orchard grass is incredible!

    What happened to the squeeze?

It’s still around. Stay tuned and you’ll get to see it. I didn’t have the stacker here for this, it was at dads. And no more than what I had it wasn’t worth bringing it over.

After you have been baling a couple hours, what are you showing for oil pressure at pto speed on your 1650?

You need a better rake and your baking would go so much better to many big clumps hard on your baler

Can’t say I don’t agree. But this hay actually raked pretty good because it wasn’t too mature. The clumps come mostly from the the ends of the short windrows. It really clumps in mature orchard grass. I want to get a better hay rake for sure. I know it’ll make better more consistent bales too.
