as a wvw vindi main, i think you're doing really well considering you dont know the ins and outs of wvw yet. here's a few thoughts that might help! 1. if you /bow and duel then its bad manners to stomp, so letting them self revive is totally expected like he did for you 2. due to how damage modifiers are bigger in wvw, getting 100% crit is absolutely required. marauder is actually super strong in wvw because it has higher precision than zerker, and because everyone is much tankier so you need to be tankier too. i go with a mix of dragon and marauder and take roiling mists. 3. for quickness i use the sigil where disabling a foe gives you 5 seconds of quickness. you can actually stack the major sigil, which gives 4 seconds on disable and the superior sigil on one weapon and both will proc, giving you 9 seconds of quickness on disable. note that this is a disable attempt, so even if they have stability or block it, so long as they dont evade it then your sigil will proc. 5. sigil of energy is OP because it gives 50% energy, not 25% like in pvp 6. getting outnumbered in wvw is kind of like being outnumbered in pvp, if the enemies are good players then you won't be able to win 1v2. so you need to always know whether you are "overextending" or not. depending on your build, there is a max distance you will feel confident you can run, so make sure you identify the nearest "safe spot" and know how many meters you are away from it, so that you are aware of whether you are overextending or not. the "safe spots" are: - a nearby cliff that your team owns, which you can glide off of but enemies can't - a nearby tower portal - a nearby friendly zerg or other teammates - for vindi, certain terrain you can dodge + jump to reach that other classes can't - if you have a lot of movement skills lined up, try to wait until all are off cooldown, and use them all at once to get out of combat and mount up immediately 7. the biggest difference between pvp and wvw stat wise is that wvw has celestial, which allows people to play high damage condi builds while being really tanky. personally i play a cele build myself because its just so strong, and i take relic of mosyn with salvation trait so that i cleanse 2 conditions and get twice as much protection per dodge. i suggest playing around with different ways to condi cleanse like sigil of cleansing, or even try retribution trait line for the resolution boon, to survive the celestial meta.

Very true. I know what all my skills do but I'm not used to the different cooldowns and damage levels so it feels like an entirely different build! Definitely need to do some tweaking on my build and maybe get some advice from some good WVW Revs

At least it still was as of a couple months ago. And yes as someone already posted. Assume everyone you meet that’s isn’t part of a zerg is running cele.

Just like in cooking where you find out the secret is to use a lot of salt and butter, in WvW the secret is to use a lot of cele gear. It literally gives almost twice as much stats as 3 stat gear, so you are basically playing at half strength without it.
Good video! some tips are: survivability is key on roaming builds... you will be always 1vX, can go on side maps and look for the "Duel Island" and bow to someone waiting there to get some nice 1v1s. Builds are really different from pvp, because you will fight too much cele nowadays and condi bunkers, you have to stay alive or get a oneshot build! awesome video, keep it up PS: Duel Island is either Champion`s Demesne or Hero`s Lodge on the Sentry

Enjoyed the vid, you've got a good understanding of other classes...will be interesting to see how you progress. The area that is known for dueling is the southern sentry area of both the alpine borderlands. But you'll also get gankers coming in, so ya just gotta approach people like they a rabid dog and see if they bite you right away, or looking to duel. It seems less and less nowadays tho that you get duels there. Oh, and all the dumb stuff you said you did is me when I just start a session and I have bloodlust haha (and props on the juke at start, you have good terrain awareness which is already a win in wvw)
When it comes to roaming in WvW, the one thing you might want to consider doing is bind a key to look directly behind you so you don't have to swing your camera around. I use the Z key to give me a quick 180 view when running away or traveling anywhere on the borderlands for that matter; helps you avoid Warclaw spears from those chasing you down. Great video. :)

Things you'll learn in WvW. 1) everybody and their alt accounts is running cele stats. 2) You will be outnumbered 90% of the time. 3) Everything and everywhere is a no port spot. The deathly "No valid path" debuff seems to be imbedded into WvWs code.
1) you can also run cele stats yourself. 2) being outnumbered is basically the reason why many are forced to run cele and it's also what makes WvW "Fun" for some roamers. 3) just an excuse for people when they get rekt for the most part.

Condi builds are currently meta in WvW. Everyone is more tanky. Certian places in WvW are known for duels, mainly south camp on blue and green borderlands.
In WvW you have two primary points of view: 1. Capture objectives, get points! 2. Screw capturing stuff, join a blob, get tons of kills and thus more loot bags I was also curious to see what stats/runes/sigils you went with. A lot of guides will recommend Marauder or Dragon or some combo of them for power builds. Another comment mentioned a lot of people run Celestial. Other than that, you were holding your own against Plat/Mithril level folks and surviving 5v1 encounters. I'd say you're doing just fine. =)

I was running mostly Marauder stats with some berserker mixed in. I tried the rune of the chronomancer on Herald and then used Durability on Vindi. If you have any build recommendations I'm all ears
I liked the honesty. As a wvw guild leader im saddly used to having newcomers come disappointed at their performance in wvw because coming to the game mode they are fed with montages of duels and 1vX fights and they expect to be like that. Whilst in reality most of those montages are the 1 fight amongst 50 when all enemies were noobs. It is nice to see a clip of someone that is skilled in pvp and showing that in reality you cant fight a 1vX if your enemies are decent.
That being said, i myself dont really enjoy wvw duels. They lack purpose and as long as the exp difference isnt big, the fight usually becomes a gamble of which build counters the other. You can see that in this clip, the spelbreaker at the end was doing great, then a simple change like going long range sent him to oblivion. In pvp you find ways around it making yourself useful in other places of the map or joining an ally, or you can be of use baiting the enemy out of a capture point so your team mates can cap, or you take aggro for the sake of the team, etc. In wvw solo duels that doesnt exist and it ends up pretty often in a rock scissors paper situation
All I do is WvW, and I love it. Solo, small grp roaming, or zerg. There are certain things you can do solo, there are certain things you can do with 2-4 people, and there are certain things you can do with 20+. Just adapt to what you got.
9:16 If you're confident you can survive a 2 v 1, then yeah, contest the cap because if your objective is claimed by a guild with max WvW buffs then that's an advantage to you. If they cap it you lose the buffs. If they claim it as well, that's added bonus advantage to them. They will also have an invulnerable NPC on their side, so better get out of range from that if they successfully cap.
Woot, a wvw video from you! Thank you! Agree with others- cele builds are everywhere for roamers. I pretty much only run mara, tb, or cele in wvw depending on build and mood, and generally with defensive runes to boot. For you though I'd almost say just go with what you're already doing- you're already really good at picking your burst windows and creating distance, so really all you'd be doing is dying a little slower when you turn the corner into a surprise outnumbered. Just expect people to take a bit more to kill. :) Any thoughts on rev spear? Was glad to hear they're speeding it up (it was SO SLOW on beta weekend), but I think it's going to be tough to compete with SB as a midrange condi weapon...
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed! Anet was in for a tough job designing a new weapon for Rev. Because every possible weapon niche has been filled already. That being said I was very underwhelmed by the Rev spear beta. I haven't tried it yet today, but hopefully it's better than the beta lol
@@homage3 I thought about it more last night and had the thought that it might actually be a good alternative to mace + axe rather than SB. The kits are actually pretty similar with a pull, small movement, and a few layers of conditions. I know you're not a condi guy either though. ;)

I think, right of the bet, before seeing most of the vid; I see you running a zerk-ish build... But the problem is cele beats zerk pretty much always (however, cele vs cele is a tie because both are too tanky...) That's why most roamers use cele and some use trailblazer builds. It's really sad but it's just a fact... cele does almost equal if not equal dmg (with boon upkeep it can be equal) but zerk / marauder is way more squishy AND with a lot less healing / boon upkeep etc... So that said I think you can own in wvw if you are a pvp pro, just have to run the cheeze gear...
after seeing the vid, well played, and great vid, since you show everything and not just your own wins ... and your relaxed commentary is way better than turning the vid in a music vid. and 19:31 yea... that's like 50% of my deaths.... Anet optimized the pathing skills a bit better in pvp maps, but in wvw that is such garbage.... seems to be a hard fix form them.. I think they would need to rework all the terrain somehow
@@homage3 In the center map (Eternal Battlegrounds) there is a central castle (Stonemist Castle, or SMC) that has an outer defensive wall and an inner defensive wall. PvP-type duels usually happen around the outer walls of SMC (on the hill immediately to the east of the western green Keep, western side by Dredge entrance, northeast by Oakheart creature, and southeast by Oakheart creature, and south side of SMC). I don't think it is as consistent as the area listed above (and a larger area to search), but it does have its moments.
First time watcher, i like the video format. Btw, you can't teleport up to that beetle as it is in the outer ring of the desert air keep, so there's no path up there unless you destroy a wall or a gate.
some of these comments are absolutely wild, so I'll add mine here: celestial is fine and people playing it are chads. ok for real this time, great video, as a newish roamer I'm curious how you felt about the population, roaming content, was it borring ? especially on desert BL, where it's harder to find fights and as for what to do, it depends on what interests you the most ig, if you wanna feel useful for your server, hunt dolyaks, get camps or towers, small stuff that big groups don't really want to waste their time on. If you're looking for fights, then roam around SM in EB, go for north camps in BLs, watch for dots on the mini map, etc ... you can also find duels spots around SM, south island in alpine BLs, or sometimes just flat areas rn the only power specs that are really broken tier are drd/de and wb, every other class have viable power builds but don't expect to pull out some insane outnumbers, celestial is broken on most classes, sometimes you'll see full condi tank builds but celestial is just that much better in 90% of cases. Metabattle has good builds in general, sometimes builds have questionnable stats and sigils/runes/relic but heh it's a good start to get a feel of the meta
Thanks for your insight! I've actually seen a bunch of your videos so I appreciate hearing the opinion of someone experienced. I didn't find it too bad population wise. I don't think I was playing at prime time but didn't really have to run too far to find people. I'm not necessarily looking to play what's the strongest. I'm more looking to play some kinda power rev build because that's the build I find most fun personally. I may try cele rev at some point but I wanna get my bearings a bit first.

Good video. This meta is garbo unf. You see the pain of a roamer. You did well I hope you come back, wvw always needs quality people to fight. Sometimes the quality of the fights can be lacking.
Number one rule in wvw: when you think you will 1v1, you will end up 1vX. Movement is king and having map awareness is a lifesaver. Desert map is good for solo roaming more because all the escapes and LoS blocks that can be used to survive from long range. Every other map is an open field and usually the bigger groups always win. Depending on the players of course. This is gank wars 2.
You were unbuffed for most of the fights, people go full sweaty in wvw with food and stones. That helps with damage a lot. If you’re planning to run a power build, I’d recommend making sure you hit crit cap, changes how the builds feel. Especially with the Zakarios relic and life steal on crit food
Yeah first DH was unfortunately a cele😂 is what it is, to get past that some ppl began running thief relic, but also herald has been sorta on the downtrend of roaming, rene gets bigger burst with shortbow and kalla and vindi is self explanatory
Great video , maybe I can help. 14:21 You are so close to a hay stack and you never used it. Learn where all the wvw hay stacks are for escapes. If you have pulls, use them to get kills before you jump.
At least in EU - I'd go ebg for 1vX fights. The area around SM has plenty of roamers and camps attract 1vX fights. Alpine borderlands, south of the map between a sentry and bridge south of it is a dueling area. It is common and good manners to not +1 and let people ress after a duel there :) or anywhere else in the map too if you enjoyed a duel and want to go again :)
I don't see anyone saying this in the comment section so i'll just make sure you know. The camps which are closest to 2 waypoints, especially the one between them, are commonly changing claim on cooldown for a very simple reason: Anet was "smart" enough to put Gift of Battle into legendary recipes and PvE players rotate from this camp to that camp taking them to upkeep the participation. This is exactly why that necro has ported out. These people are not interested in PvP, very commonly they're very unexperienced in PvP and wouldn't provide you any challenge or fun. At the same time there's quite some experienced people who go for these far (from their perspective, as it's their home borderland) camps to find duels and/or farm such newbies for kills. There are several spots (for example, at the bridge near south camp sentry in alpine borderlands) where some players just stand waiting to duel someone.
Absolutely love your calmness and how you play the game! I am mainly a WvW player, trying to get into pvp.. Could you help with some guides? I always watch Sindrener's gameplay and get motivated, go to pvp and then in my gold league, the players only play for mid.. Lol.. Is there any tips on which class I should train on so I could atleast try help to carry the team (at gold level which is pretty low)..

I'd say the main 2 ways to hard carry in ranked are 1. Play big damage and go into team fights and secure tons of kills 2. Play as a tanky duelist and win on side nodes 1v2 Pretty much every class has a build where they can accomplish either of these. Shadowfall on youtube has lots of great PVP guides. If you have any more questions though feel free to hit me up any time
Most of roaming and even zerg builds nowadays run celestial so they have really high defenses/self sustain. Some builds aren't even worth to fight against due their self sustain. And the same stat advantage that makes them powerful in 1 v 1 makes even better in small groups.
It takes a long time to get good in WvW. I’ve been playing it strictly for over a year now and I still can’t win a one on one. Stay with a Zerg, they’ll teach you everything. And carry lots of good escapes.
I hate what they did to world vs world... I've lost my beloved server.... As for PvP, it is not what it was like 10 years ago. Can't have decent fights anymore and don't tell me to do 1v1s outside of the matches, that does not do it for me... Why Arena net can't add new armors and rewards for wvw it's literally been untouched for decades...
Roaming was so much more fun a decade ago before mounts and before everyone was super tanky, full of cleanses, boon stacking and stun breaks. Now if you roam, to fight someone, 3 the homies on warclaws are gonna jump out of Narnia and make their teammates immortal. It's rough out here for roamers
It all depends on what aliance you at... There are places where insted of romers you have gankers like wsr so theres no fun there on the other side there are relms where thers only cloud content or pure zerg myhem. The trick is to find a relm that fits youre needs...

Wvw is a physical representation of lag. You hit someone and they hit you and you might not see the hits but the hits come delayed in the form of another player and then another player and then another …….
7:40 No. That port would have never worked, as that upper lvl there is the inside of the keep. You see this jump pad there? That can be used be the team that owns the keep, rest can not use it. Aka you need to break the outer wall or use glitches/hacks to get inside. In WvW maps you can't always port everywhere. There are hard cliffs/places where you can simply not shadowstep. As there is no "non-jumpable"-path to it. Desert map is the worst map IMO when it comes to "invalid paths" and general vertical gameplay shitiness. Other maps are way better in this regards, as they have simpler geometry. Only towers/keeps can be crooked when it comes to teleports/shadowsteps. Btw, your friends always have round icon above their head (color can change from week to week) enemies always have triangle over the head. But you can also disable simple nameplates for friendlies only. So you see the whole names of friendlies in blueish default friend color, which I personally prefer, as you can recognize ppl you play with better. But thats personal preference.
I havent played in a while but this video got me the ich to play sPVP and even WvW again. Sadly I have responsibilities IRL 😅 and my only GW2 friend got too fed up with the state of sPVP so I'm solo que :D. I really want to get the shards from ranked but man the games are so bad and of low quality. I dont see myself solo quing to gold 3 on a daredevil again
You should give it a try! The meta is kinda dominated by warrior, ranger, and thief right now. But most people below plat 2 are playing off meta builds so you can play whatever you want. If you run into any issues or have any questions feel free to shoot me a message!
In wvw most roamers you’re gonna encounter are gonna be on blue and red bl. Few on red but generally speaking red is a dead map. For the most part tho you will get ganked regardless of the map your on because roaming itself isn’t all that popular anymore and if ur more interested in big fights then go ebg

WVW solo roam is totally different from PVP. It's entirely okay to spend 5 minutes in a fight. I highly recommend running a hybrid heal vindi for wvw. I run it on cele. It will take you a while, but you can beat most specs. It will take you some time though. THe imporant thing is that you can solo a tower if you want. This lets you do roaming but also cap objectives. Just be sure you go to the bathroom before you get in a fight. :D
Welcome to WvW aka wild West where anything goes! Power rev is a classic build that is satisfying to play when things go well. Cele players are nuisance but don’t give in Homage, don’t do it man, it not nearly as fun. Only reason to have a cele build is to troll ganks.
Thank you! I've received lots of recommendations to try Cele. Admittedly I've never tried it even once. I'm a little bit tempted to give it a whirl just to see if it's as strong as they say. Maybe that would make for a fun video idea?
Best advice I can give is use a class/ build that can disengage. Stealth groups roam WVW .They love the easy kills. Zergs love to 30 v you as well,lol.
WvW takes a very different skills set compared to arena style pvp, it's a lot more unpreditable, a larger variety of possible builds and set ups to face. No shame in struggling. With some time and familiarity I'm sure you'll find roaming more fruitful.
in wvw its ok to target people just because they are not MOVING its your own fault for putting yourself in that position You enter wvw YOu have to keep your guard up always no matter where you are Pardon me if this sounds so much worse then it is It should be a lesson in how wvw works imagine RPrs they be destroyed in this enviroment

Duels in WvW usually let the other opponent rez after winning the fight.

Just like in cooking where you find out the secret is to use a lot of salt and butter, in WvW the secret is to use a lot of cele gear.
It literally gives almost twice as much stats as 3 stat gear, so you are basically playing at half strength without it.

some tips are: survivability is key on roaming builds... you will be always 1vX, can go on side maps and look for the "Duel Island" and bow to someone waiting there to get some nice 1v1s.
Builds are really different from pvp, because you will fight too much cele nowadays and condi bunkers, you have to stay alive or get a oneshot build!

Enjoyed the vid, you've got a good understanding of other classes...will be interesting to see how you progress.
The area that is known for dueling is the southern sentry area of both the alpine borderlands. But you'll also get gankers coming in, so ya just gotta approach people like they a rabid dog and see if they bite you right away, or looking to duel. It seems less and less nowadays tho that you get duels there.
Oh, and all the dumb stuff you said you did is me when I just start a session and I have bloodlust haha (and props on the juke at start, you have good terrain awareness which is already a win in wvw)
When it comes to roaming in WvW, the one thing you might want to consider doing is bind a key to look directly behind you so you don't have to swing your camera around. I use the Z key to give me a quick 180 view when running away or traveling anywhere on the borderlands for that matter; helps you avoid Warclaw spears from those chasing you down. Great video. :)

Things you'll learn in WvW.
1) everybody and their alt accounts is running cele stats.
2) You will be outnumbered 90% of the time.
3) Everything and everywhere is a no port spot. The deathly "No valid path" debuff seems to be imbedded into WvWs code.

Condi builds are currently meta in WvW. Everyone is more tanky. Certian places in WvW are known for duels, mainly south camp on blue and green borderlands.
In WvW you have two primary points of view:
1. Capture objectives, get points!
2. Screw capturing stuff, join a blob, get tons of kills and thus more loot bags
I was also curious to see what stats/runes/sigils you went with. A lot of guides will recommend Marauder or Dragon or some combo of them for power builds. Another comment mentioned a lot of people run Celestial.
Other than that, you were holding your own against Plat/Mithril level folks and surviving 5v1 encounters. I'd say you're doing just fine. =)

I liked the honesty. As a wvw guild leader im saddly used to having newcomers come disappointed at their performance in wvw because coming to the game mode they are fed with montages of duels and 1vX fights and they expect to be like that. Whilst in reality most of those montages are the 1 fight amongst 50 when all enemies were noobs. It is nice to see a clip of someone that is skilled in pvp and showing that in reality you cant fight a 1vX if your enemies are decent.
That being said, i myself dont really enjoy wvw duels. They lack purpose and as long as the exp difference isnt big, the fight usually becomes a gamble of which build counters the other. You can see that in this clip, the spelbreaker at the end was doing great, then a simple change like going long range sent him to oblivion. In pvp you find ways around it making yourself useful in other places of the map or joining an ally, or you can be of use baiting the enemy out of a capture point so your team mates can cap, or you take aggro for the sake of the team, etc. In wvw solo duels that doesnt exist and it ends up pretty often in a rock scissors paper situation

All I do is WvW, and I love it. Solo, small grp roaming, or zerg.
There are certain things you can do solo, there are certain things you can do with 2-4 people, and there are certain things you can do with 20+.
Just adapt to what you got.

You might know this by now but the green and blue borderlands a lot of people will duel at the South Camp / South Camp sentry.
9:16 If you're confident you can survive a 2 v 1, then yeah, contest the cap because if your objective is claimed by a guild with max WvW buffs then that's an advantage to you. If they cap it you lose the buffs. If they claim it as well, that's added bonus advantage to them. They will also have an invulnerable NPC on their side, so better get out of range from that if they successfully cap.

Agree with others- cele builds are everywhere for roamers. I pretty much only run mara, tb, or cele in wvw depending on build and mood, and generally with defensive runes to boot. For you though I'd almost say just go with what you're already doing- you're already really good at picking your burst windows and creating distance, so really all you'd be doing is dying a little slower when you turn the corner into a surprise outnumbered. Just expect people to take a bit more to kill. :)
Any thoughts on rev spear? Was glad to hear they're speeding it up (it was SO SLOW on beta weekend), but I think it's going to be tough to compete with SB as a midrange condi weapon...

Anet was in for a tough job designing a new weapon for Rev. Because every possible weapon niche has been filled already. That being said I was very underwhelmed by the Rev spear beta. I haven't tried it yet today, but hopefully it's better than the beta lol
@@homage3 I thought about it more last night and had the thought that it might actually be a good alternative to mace + axe rather than SB. The kits are actually pretty similar with a pull, small movement, and a few layers of conditions. I know you're not a condi guy either though. ;)

I think, right of the bet, before seeing most of the vid; I see you running a zerk-ish build... But the problem is cele beats zerk pretty much always (however, cele vs cele is a tie because both are too tanky...) That's why most roamers use cele and some use trailblazer builds. It's really sad but it's just a fact... cele does almost equal if not equal dmg (with boon upkeep it can be equal) but zerk / marauder is way more squishy AND with a lot less healing / boon upkeep etc... So that said I think you can own in wvw if you are a pvp pro, just have to run the cheeze gear...
after seeing the vid, well played, and great vid, since you show everything and not just your own wins ... and your relaxed commentary is way better than turning the vid in a music vid. and 19:31 yea... that's like 50% of my deaths.... Anet optimized the pathing skills a bit better in pvp maps, but in wvw that is such garbage.... seems to be a hard fix form them.. I think they would need to rework all the terrain somehow
For consistent duels, in both Alpine borderlands, you'll find a spot where many roamers like to duel north of the south camps, near the sentry.

@@homage3 In the center map (Eternal Battlegrounds) there is a central castle (Stonemist Castle, or SMC) that has an outer defensive wall and an inner defensive wall. PvP-type duels usually happen around the outer walls of SMC (on the hill immediately to the east of the western green Keep, western side by Dredge entrance, northeast by Oakheart creature, and southeast by Oakheart creature, and south side of SMC). I don't think it is as consistent as the area listed above (and a larger area to search), but it does have its moments.
also theres a blacksmith repairman at the spawn point who offers to fix ur armor he will give u a nice hp buff

First time watcher, i like the video format. Btw, you can't teleport up to that beetle as it is in the outer ring of the desert air keep, so there's no path up there unless you destroy a wall or a gate.
Yeah there's an exploit port of thief sword 2 into that area and that's about it.

and as for what to do, it depends on what interests you the most ig, if you wanna feel useful for your server, hunt dolyaks, get camps or towers, small stuff that big groups don't really want to waste their time on. If you're looking for fights, then roam around SM in EB, go for north camps in BLs, watch for dots on the mini map, etc ...
you can also find duels spots around SM, south island in alpine BLs, or sometimes just flat areas
rn the only power specs that are really broken tier are drd/de and wb, every other class have viable power builds but don't expect to pull out some insane outnumbers, celestial is broken on most classes, sometimes you'll see full condi tank builds but celestial is just that much better in 90% of cases. Metabattle has good builds in general, sometimes builds have questionnable stats and sigils/runes/relic but heh it's a good start to get a feel of the meta

I didn't find it too bad population wise. I don't think I was playing at prime time but didn't really have to run too far to find people.
I'm not necessarily looking to play what's the strongest. I'm more looking to play some kinda power rev build because that's the build I find most fun personally. I may try cele rev at some point but I wanna get my bearings a bit first.

You should be fine on power vindi, both builds you played looked good, I'd just stay away from power herald, it's not doing too good
I forgot to talk about it but this format of video is great imo, I think you managed to hit most of the WvW audience, we don't have many people doing commentary videos for roaming, only Berry does really good mesmer commentary, so yeah can't wait to see more

Number one rule in wvw: when you think you will 1v1, you will end up 1vX. Movement is king and having map awareness is a lifesaver. Desert map is good for solo roaming more because all the escapes and LoS blocks that can be used to survive from long range. Every other map is an open field and usually the bigger groups always win. Depending on the players of course. This is gank wars 2.
When I play WvW: dies randomly because an enemy sneezed in my general direction.
How you play WvW: casually walk around enemies without taking damage.
You were unbuffed for most of the fights, people go full sweaty in wvw with food and stones. That helps with damage a lot. If you’re planning to run a power build, I’d recommend making sure you hit crit cap, changes how the builds feel. Especially with the Zakarios relic and life steal on crit food

in wvw ur options for heavy armor classes are be squishy as hell and do lots of damage or do barely any damage but not be one shot by everyone
Yeah first DH was unfortunately a cele😂 is what it is, to get past that some ppl began running thief relic, but also herald has been sorta on the downtrend of roaming, rene gets bigger burst with shortbow and kalla and vindi is self explanatory

Great video , maybe I can help. 14:21 You are so close to a hay stack and you never used it. Learn where all the wvw hay stacks are for escapes. If you have pulls, use them to get kills before you jump.
At least in EU - I'd go ebg for 1vX fights. The area around SM has plenty of roamers and camps attract 1vX fights.
Alpine borderlands, south of the map between a sentry and bridge south of it is a dueling area. It is common and good manners to not +1 and let people ress after a duel there :) or anywhere else in the map too if you enjoyed a duel and want to go again :)

The camps which are closest to 2 waypoints, especially the one between them, are commonly changing claim on cooldown for a very simple reason: Anet was "smart" enough to put Gift of Battle into legendary recipes and PvE players rotate from this camp to that camp taking them to upkeep the participation. This is exactly why that necro has ported out. These people are not interested in PvP, very commonly they're very unexperienced in PvP and wouldn't provide you any challenge or fun.
At the same time there's quite some experienced people who go for these far (from their perspective, as it's their home borderland) camps to find duels and/or farm such newbies for kills. There are several spots (for example, at the bridge near south camp sentry in alpine borderlands) where some players just stand waiting to duel someone.
Absolutely love your calmness and how you play the game! I am mainly a WvW player, trying to get into pvp.. Could you help with some guides? I always watch Sindrener's gameplay and get motivated, go to pvp and then in my gold league, the players only play for mid.. Lol.. Is there any tips on which class I should train on so I could atleast try help to carry the team (at gold level which is pretty low)..

I'd say the main 2 ways to hard carry in ranked are
1. Play big damage and go into team fights and secure tons of kills
2. Play as a tanky duelist and win on side nodes 1v2
Pretty much every class has a build where they can accomplish either of these.
Shadowfall on youtube has lots of great PVP guides.

Most of roaming and even zerg builds nowadays run celestial so they have really high defenses/self sustain. Some builds aren't even worth to fight against due their self sustain. And the same stat advantage that makes them powerful in 1 v 1 makes even better in small groups.

It takes a long time to get good in WvW. I’ve been playing it strictly for over a year now and I still can’t win a one on one. Stay with a Zerg, they’ll teach you everything. And carry lots of good escapes.

I hate what they did to world vs world... I've lost my beloved server.... As for PvP, it is not what it was like 10 years ago. Can't have decent fights anymore and don't tell me to do 1v1s outside of the matches, that does not do it for me... Why Arena net can't add new armors and rewards for wvw it's literally been untouched for decades...
Try on vindicator this =>
• Celestial stats + scourge runes + relic of the flock.
• Sigils of Water + Sigils of Energy
•mace/shield + shortbow(or spear probably replacing it)
•Alliance stance + Centaur stance
•Invocation traitline: 1-2-2
•Salvation Traitline: 3-2-1
•Vindicator traitline: 2-2-2
Roaming was so much more fun a decade ago before mounts and before everyone was super tanky, full of cleanses, boon stacking and stun breaks.
Now if you roam, to fight someone, 3 the homies on warclaws are gonna jump out of Narnia and make their teammates immortal.
It's rough out here for roamers

It all depends on what aliance you at... There are places where insted of romers you have gankers like wsr so theres no fun there on the other side there are relms where thers only cloud content or pure zerg myhem. The trick is to find a relm that fits youre needs...

Wvw is a physical representation of lag. You hit someone and they hit you and you might not see the hits but the hits come delayed in the form of another player and then another player and then another …….

7:40 No. That port would have never worked, as that upper lvl there is the inside of the keep. You see this jump pad there? That can be used be the team that owns the keep, rest can not use it.
Aka you need to break the outer wall or use glitches/hacks to get inside. In WvW maps you can't always port everywhere. There are hard cliffs/places where you can simply not shadowstep. As there is no "non-jumpable"-path to it. Desert map is the worst map IMO when it comes to "invalid paths" and general vertical gameplay shitiness. Other maps are way better in this regards, as they have simpler geometry. Only towers/keeps can be crooked when it comes to teleports/shadowsteps.
Btw, your friends always have round icon above their head (color can change from week to week) enemies always have triangle over the head. But you can also disable simple nameplates for friendlies only. So you see the whole names of friendlies in blueish default friend color, which I personally prefer, as you can recognize ppl you play with better. But thats personal preference.

I havent played in a while but this video got me the ich to play sPVP and even WvW again. Sadly I have responsibilities IRL 😅 and my only GW2 friend got too fed up with the state of sPVP so I'm solo que :D. I really want to get the shards from ranked but man the games are so bad and of low quality. I dont see myself solo quing to gold 3 on a daredevil again
You should give it a try! The meta is kinda dominated by warrior, ranger, and thief right now. But most people below plat 2 are playing off meta builds so you can play whatever you want. If you run into any issues or have any questions feel free to shoot me a message!

In wvw most roamers you’re gonna encounter are gonna be on blue and red bl. Few on red but generally speaking red is a dead map. For the most part tho you will get ganked regardless of the map your on because roaming itself isn’t all that popular anymore and if ur more interested in big fights then go ebg
each time i see a revenant do pvp i instantly want to main that class. then i hop on it, have no clue what i am doing and feel super weak 😅

WVW solo roam is totally different from PVP. It's entirely okay to spend 5 minutes in a fight. I highly recommend running a hybrid heal vindi for wvw. I run it on cele. It will take you a while, but you can beat most specs. It will take you some time though. THe imporant thing is that you can solo a tower if you want. This lets you do roaming but also cap objectives. Just be sure you go to the bathroom before you get in a fight. :D

Welcome to WvW aka wild West where anything goes! Power rev is a classic build that is satisfying to play when things go well. Cele players are nuisance but don’t give in Homage, don’t do it man, it not nearly as fun. Only reason to have a cele build is to troll ganks.
Thank you! I've received lots of recommendations to try Cele. Admittedly I've never tried it even once. I'm a little bit tempted to give it a whirl just to see if it's as strong as they say. Maybe that would make for a fun video idea?

Best advice I can give is use a class/ build that can disengage. Stealth groups roam WVW .They love the easy kills. Zergs love to 30 v you as well,lol.
I will definitely keep that in mind. It seems on Rev you need to stay near things you can teleport to in order to escape
wvw roamers are built different
WvW takes a very different skills set compared to arena style pvp, it's a lot more unpreditable, a larger variety of possible builds and set ups to face. No shame in struggling. With some time and familiarity I'm sure you'll find roaming more fruitful.
Just rember in wvw ya can use the armor buff form repairing gear 2 get little more hp and armor gos a long way
i had the opposite experience as a plat 2 player on EU. i constantly win outnumbered fights sometimes even 1V5. wvw skill level is so much lower
WvW have Celestial Prefix
while PvP not have Celestial trinket anymore
this is another reason why many PvPer hate Celestial build
