Hello! I’m using a ComMarker B4 20W engraver with Lightburn, and recently I encountered a connection error while engraving in 3D on brass. The issue occurred while engraving a 3D relief pattern with the following settings: speed 6000, frequency 45kHz, power 90%, line spacing 0.0254, image mode set to 3D Sliced, and 150 passes. After about 6 hours of engraving, a connection error occurred. I paused for a while and resumed engraving, but the previously engraved pattern disappeared. Then, after about 1 hour, the connection error happened again. Is there any solution to this problem? And is there a way to resume the engraving from where it stopped? I would greatly appreciate your help in finding a solution. If you need further assistance with refining the details or want to send this in a specific context, feel free to ask!
Sadly I don't know of a way to resume something. Your best bet is to contact the company about this because it kind of sounds like the machine might be overheating and stopping. 6 hours straight up engraving is a pretty long time.
Hello Randy, thank you, your videos are great, I am looking for a 20w fiber laser for gold and silver jewelry applications and I would like to know your opinion and which one would you choose between the ComMarker B4 and the Gweike G2 that works better on these two metals? in definition and depth taking into account that they would be very small letters. Thank you so much.
Question Do you use lightburn for your lasers, And if you do can you use the same license on all your laser re fiber/C02 etc Or is it only per machine use. Thanks for any information 🙂
The Lightburn program you "buy" once, then, it is 30 bucks per year to keep receiving updates. The program will still work past the year, but, no updates. LB says that if you renew early, they add two months to your subscription which is great.... The 30 bucks per year renewal is for ALL licenses you have, even with the galvo license, so, as it is the very best burning program IMO, I'll keep renewing until I'm "in the ground" 🙂
Thanks Randy. I’m going to head all the way to the bank with those beautiful coins.
Lol.
That looks like too much fun.

@@randymay Thank you.
Would you mind sharing your settings for engraving PLA?
what kind of filtration system would be good for a silver engraving setup? Don't want to lose all that silver! Great video!

Hello nice machine ! have you tried to do color engraving on silver?
I haven't but I know this can only do black and white on silver
Will this one cut metal with enough passes ?
Yeah it can but it's going to be around 0.5-08mm max if I had to guess

You have to upgrade your license to be able to use it with the fiber laser. I think it's like $90 if you already have a license
Ahh ok thanks 👍
Yeah The upfront price definitely sucks but it's well worth using the software
