- San Diego is BNSF territory here in Southern California. While we don't nearly get as much action compared to the busy San Bernardino Subdivision up in the Los Angeles Basin, BNSF action down here is thankfully steady. Over the past few weeks, I've been filming the various BNSF action that comes here to San Diego, everything from the unique to the typical nightly action.
Most BNSF trains, such as the scheduled "Daygo" manifest and the autorack trains arrive and depart here in the darkness of the night, but I've been lucky to get a few of these trains during the daytime hours. In addition to the normal trains, BNSF has been sending down quite a few empty windmill trains lately, and loading them up in San Diego. Power has also been interesting lately, with SD70 power frequently visiting, even throwing in a Union Pacific SD70M on one of the windmill trains.
