    Dear Persolaise, what a lovely holiday citrus special. Thank you so much. Citrus, especially lemon, is my favourite top note and I collect these lemon "happy makers" with love. I discovered Loewe Aire Fantasía, and that one blew me away. What an amazing citrus frag that turns woody floral but the lemon stays for a long time. In high heat superb. And I want to mention L'occitane Vervene. The freshest verbena perfume I know. Smells so realistic like real verbena leaves.
    I wish you a wonderful summer vacation and all the best. Greetings from Holland.

    I live and fear both the moment where we have a frenzy of videos from Dariush, meaning he'll go a'd when he returns it will be the end of summer. Which is kind of amazing in a way, this channel is at the same time dedicated to scents but through time ! I love all these recommendations, know or own some, love also Mandarin Basilic by Guerlain, Déclaration Haute Fraîcheur by Cartier, Ô de Lancôme, Eau Dynamisante by Clarins, Cope together by Mugler and so on and so forth. Great work. Let's all have a wonderful summer, away or not.

    Citrus is my most reached fragrance profile all year round even though I live in the PNW where it is mostly cold and raining. I love the Mandarin Basilic by Guerlain, Pomelo by Jo Loves and Sundazed. I have other citrusy perfumes but i tend to gravitate towards these. I am quite interested with Pamplelune now that you recommended it. Enjoy your holiday, Mr. P! I had a professor in uni and everybody calls her Ms. P.

Since you disqualified Diorella and Cristalle for reasons I happen to agree with, then I will nominate a discontinued Molton Brown I adore (Bushukan), and Atelier Cologne's Orange Sanguine. When I was young (in the 1950s and 60s), my mother had two fragrances - 4711 and Chanel No. 5 (I think the later may have been given to her by my father). I'm not sure she ever even wore them. I LOATHED 4711, and still do to this day. It was all rather sad, actually. She was one of those starchy Scottish types who thought make-up or perfume (or, for that matter, pierced ears) made you "cheap". *Sigh*. Thankfully, I had a boyfriend in my late teens who introduced me to lovely scents - although Madame Rochas was probably a bit heavy for an 18-year-old!

    One of my favourite citrus perfumes is by Broken Anatomy, called 'Chasing Memories'. A simple but perfect musk-bergamot, lightened up by orange blossom. So bright and uplifting, yet immediately soothing, calming.
    I use it to scent the room during therapeutic trauma related sessions with clients, often when they are stuck/processing in a heavy space, it often causes clients to breathe deeply and release, so the name is apt. I think aromatherapy is underutilized in the therapeutic-trauma and hospice context. Something I've been working on for a few years. It's an American brand, maybe hard to get in the UK, I would be happy to post a decant to you if you are interested.

      I love how you're using fragrance in the emotional/mental space. For me scent is the strongest anchor to a memory. There was a perfume I wore throughout my mother's and my first trip to Europe in 2016, and I still get an adrenaline rush when I smell it. Every night I went to bed with those "pre-field trip jitters" like in school, so I'm not surprised the same perfume still elicits a Pavlovian response in me.

    This is really fascinating for me. Even though my name might suggest otherwise, I'm actually German. We pronounce the perfume as "siebenundvierzig elf," which translates to "forty seven eleven" in English. I remember it from my childhood; we affectionately called it the "granny perfume" and used its refreshers to clean our hands after eating grilled chicken. Now, I see it in a new light and have even ordered a bottle. It's funny to think that my teenage self, who loved "Joop Le Bain," would be so surprised by this! 😂

    I'm not that much for (lemony) citruses as intended by this video. I like citruses' other facets. I do wear E. D. Guerlain and Hadrien often though. Note to Mr. P: you'll reach more often for them if you have (bunch of) bottles scattered in several places around your home - you pick them up when you're there. If they're all in one place - much less. This is my experience.
    For those interested in Hermès' Mandarin Ambreè - I love it. Not your usual Ellena, not your usual citrus. Its almost candied (*ambrèe") mandarine, but because it's Ellena - it's perfectly balanced.
    My citrus would be ouside the parameters of the video - E. D. Hermes (leather), Diorella (BEST OF THEM ALL), Citron Noir (a killer woody, non favorite of Mr. P - he'll come around😎
    Wearing C. Noir and having a cool peppery gin&tonic is all the mood).
    Have a great summer everyone !

    The lemoniest lemon scent I know is Alvarez Gomez Ague de Colonia Concentrada. The bath & body products are to die for too. It fades more orange blossom than neroli & the aromatics are tiny bit players there to spin the luscious lemon onto her next partners.
    I buy the standard cologne version in 900ml bottles & use in the laundry. Something I learnt from a Spanish friend.
    There is another cologne called Nenuco aimed at children. Again I use it in winter laundry.
    My bedding always smells of line dried summer

    Maybe a fun idea for a series on this channel. Try to describe the DNA of a Brand. What makes Chanel Chanel or Amouage Amouage and so on. Maybe it's silly and unnecessary.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Год назад +1

      Actually, I really like that idea, and I’ve thought of doing something similar in the past, but I’m not sure how different it would be from my Best Of Brand videos.

    • @gunnar368
      @gunnar368 Год назад

      @@Persolaise You do try to find a common thread in the best of brands videos, but do you also compare how each brand for instance does a Rose fragrance or a Frankincense one? For instance, is Orange Star clearly a Tauer citrus or could it also have been a Goutal one?
      In some cases of perfumer has a strong preference for an ingredient like Quentin Bisch with akigalawood. If he works for a well-known brand that has their own strong DNA, will he have to tone down that preference to match the brands aesthetics? Some brands give perfumers more freedom than others I guess. I think what I want to know is: do brands have key ingredients or accords independent of a perfumer? In other words, I’m wondering if brands have a “Guerlinade” that colour each fragrance.
