Knowing how hard he practiced and worked to reach this level of excellence is inspirational. Makes me wanna make my kid listen one more time to how important it is to work hard and focus on achievable goals.
Me too. There was a cd that came with a book of him telling the 50 best basketball stories. I’d listen to that every night to fall asleep. Great story teller
2 of my favorite shots of all time came from Bird. His shot from behind the backboard, over the hoops as the ball is going out of bounds. And when he passed the ball to himself off the backboard, finishing with his left hand.
I love John Salley!! 😂😂😂 he is hilarious “Yall aint double teaming!! Larry Bird one of my favorite player’s! Sal you better ask for a double team bruh??!!❤️
Larry was one of the most interesting, colorful and of course Talented players that ever played the game.. He played on another level.. From trash talk to triple doubles, he had it all.. Like Jordan, there will never be another Larry Bird.. Although his stats were not no 1, what he contributed every game was.. The intangibles, like his leadership, supporting his teammates and just his ungodly ability to never fold under pressure was who he was.. He deserves to be in the top 3 of all time.. Jordan , James and Bird... My top 3 With so many great players , you just gotta pick 3 you love
I know, right? I have NEVER seen that either before or since. That is the ultimate tribute... when your opponent is going crazy (good) over you performance.
@@grzegoslawgrzegoslaw9962luka cant shoot anywhere as good as bird. Bird is one of the greatest shooters ever AND one of the best passers ever. Bird was so much better, better rebounder, passer, scorer, etc, etc,.guys feared-BIRD-you heard how X-Man didn't want no parts of guarding Larry. LOL. Larry won 3 nba titles,12 Nba all star-teams,2 Nba Finals MVP awards. Oh,I forgot,he also won Rookie of the Year in the nba too. Bird's first year on the Celtics they had a 32 game improvement from their previous year. BIRD was a-BEAST-of a player.
Love Rick because I'm from Hartford and went to the same High school, Weaver High but I'm a Celtics fan so F#@#^!@ck Rick lol this is about the 10th time a watched this and still love to here about those days.
Pat Riley Said that if he had to pick a player to take the last shot to Win a game he would take MJ.............but if he had to pick a player to shoot the final Shot to Save his life he Would pick Larry Bird👍* ...
I don't understand how players who _played_ through this era, get stuff confused so much. 1) The Byron Scott story about Bird curling to the corner and hitting that three pointer, in The Finals of 1987. He says Bird hit the shot, and "ball game over". No, not game over. Magic came back and hit the baby hook with two seconds left, then Larry missed a very tough shot at the buzzer, and the Lakers won, going up 3-1. 2) Cedric Maxwell saying "We played one game in Hartford every year". Wrong. The Celtics had to play THREE "home" games in Hartford every year, which I always thought was total crap, along with that annual super long, west coast road trip, after every All-Star game, because the damn circus was using Boston Garden. If the circus just _had_ to use The Garden, for so long, then that's when the Celtics should've played a couple of games in Hartford, but, were instead forced to play three games in The Civic Center, each season, for no valid reason.
Isaiah is a punk. I believe he lives on others backs. Too bad, he was good for a short player. Others were short. But they weren't narcissistic sociopaths. Id play his knucklehead a55 at any age. I'm 45. Bring it . No players to help u now
I love watching these Larry Birds stories they get crazier and funnier every time 💀
Funnier than the last time you heard most of them in his part one?
Love them too

2:27 The way Sall said "and he hated Bill Laimbeer" randomly took me out haha
Mouse in the house is crazy 🤣
Love Walton so much, he is so funny and only exaggerates a little bit here and there. Love these stories. Thanks

It is refreshing to see so many NBA greats give Larry his flowers.
That is true respect.
Larry Bird was a player who just knew what he could do. Give me the ball and get out of the way. Now that's backing up your trash talking.
His confidence was off the charts. Playing with "brothers" when he was young helped, no doubt.
Another dope video bro
You know that Larry Bird was the man when even Michael Jordan hated playing him. Larry Legend!!! 🤣❤️🔥

"Only God can guard me." - Larry Bird
Just awesome. Every player I say thank u. Those years were a lot of fun watching the entire nba
The Fucking Legend
Old school real G's....miss that kind of vibe.
With this many witnesses the stories must be true! Larry Legend! 🍀
Larry gave us 4 tickets to my friends and gave me one too, at the NCAA championships, I got my hat signed by him back in 1979! He was so cool with us!
Larry hated Bill, because he tried to hurt you and Larry hated him.
It ain’t trashing talking if you can back it up. It’s just stating facts at that point.
Luka and Larry bird are so similar I swear
Stop it
@@DF-ni5sy what do you mean stop it, they have almost identical playstyles

Think if Bird went from high school directly to the NBA like LeBron. He would have crazy scoring stats.
I never thought of that.

In the matter of best shit talker that could back it up. Muhammad Ali or Larry Bird?
Only the greatest Wilton Chamberlain would stop his asss.
