    Why expose the batteries and inverter to direct sunlight? Although they may be rated for outdoor use, electronics still suffer from increased temperature and you may want to advise them to get a shade over the installation.

    For about $800 less than this unit you can buy an easy to assemble 15.5 kW, DIY LFP battery kit that uses high quality EVE cells with a smart BMS with active cell balancing, a full suite of communication ports with Bluetooth.

    You have come a long way from Blue China GTILs! I'm still there but am looking at the LUXpower 6K as they have current clamps and I don't want a contract with my utility. I have two Blue Boxes for day time and two for night time (batteries) I finally learned how to use the battery function and it makes so much sense! Set amount in watts you want to limit the battery bank to output, and use internal limiter to control each Leg up to the set limit. It works flawlessly. I use a regular AC battery charger during the day to recharge the batteries as the panels are keeping the house loads from grid at just a few watts. So no charge controller for batteries, just the AC battery charger. The system works perfectly thanks to all your RUclipss from back in the day of your blue box GTIls!

    could you technically power the entire home using backfeed to the main panel? I'm interested in a similar setup, but don't want to have to pick/choose my critical loads and would rather do a whole home backup up to the max 12K the inverter can support. I think the system will auto pull from the grid for any loads over 12k?

    • @SolarEngineering
      @SolarEngineering  2 месяца назад

      you'll need to relocated all loads from main panel. Or install tesla backup switch, which can do full-home backup without circuits relocation.

    For paralleling 2 PowerPro batteries, doesn't EG4 suggest connecting the second battery to the bus bar of the first battery? And then from there, running two battery cables up to the inverter from the bus bar?

    Why do they need batteries without solar, are they saving money on time of use? If it's for blackout protection, then they should just keep the generator.

    I would never use a low surge, high frequency, transformerless inveryer to power my home. They offer poorer peak power capacities and a shorter life expectancies than heavy duty, low frequency, transformer based inverters.
