This is good info! My son lives off grid and has told me of all the expensive mistakes he made when setting up his system. We plan on getting a solar system soon, so between the two of you we can make wise choices in our equipment purchases.🙏🏼
Good easy to understand info. Thank you. I am getting ready to go solar. Two different company reps are telling me I don't need a back up battery because the grid rarely goes down. I got a bad computer now because of all the shut downs this year going into summer, and previous years. I think I need a back up. Not sure why they don't want to sell one to me...
Thanks! The peace of mind I get from storing (renewable) energy for use when I need it is why I did it. And by renewable I mean: if it's sunny, I've got an energy source (which is really cool).
It is also great to mention about the Fed tax credit when installing a battery, solar back up added to the home... about 2 years ago I bought a clone of the LV6548 (2 units for split phase) inverter and looking at the current inverter reviews I wish I had waited/knowned about the Lux power, signature solar 12000/18000 hybrid inverters. and still slowly putting this system together
Hey Rob! I came over from your IG, I appreciate how detailed you are in all your posts and I was just beginning to look for a battery backup system when I saw your IG post. I’m glad you’re going in depth about this topic because it’s a ton of information and there are so many brands and different types of batteries to choose from! Does it make sense to try to get a battery backup system to power an entire house for several days when energy consumption is roughly 41 kWh per day (FL summer) or is that just wishful thinking?
That's great and thank you for your kindness. I'll go into depth on how I'm setting this up to backup SPECIFIC breakers in my main panel (not the entire house) which I think is the best option for grid down or emergency "insurance" if there's a disaster.

That's great, I'll be sharing more details too.

Good call!

Looking forward to it!

what does having a lithium battery of that size in your home do to your homeowners insurance? Does your insurance even cover a fire from that thing?
How do you compare the Ethos battery to the EG4 wall mount or rack mount?
She looks stronger than he does lifting that inverter on the wall and way hotter too lol
