Traditional Pad Thai is often served with banana blossom (hua plee or หัวปลี). In some restaurants, flowers such as orchids are used purely for decoration, while other types of flowers can be eaten or even used to make drinks.

Thai food is one of the best in the world. Unfortunately in the US and most other countries we get maybe 10-15 dishes as options. I did eat at one Thai restaurant that had 50+ dishes that are common in Thailand and that was amazing to try different dishes. So when I go to Thailand, I’ll have hundreds of options with most I’ve never tried!
Thai,Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, Mexican, Peruvian, Italian and Szechuan (Sichuan) are my favorites!

I find most Padthai too sweet, so I mostly avoid it, but fellow Thai people seem to like food with a lot of sugar in it, which is why you find little bowls of sugar on the table in most noodle eateries.

      ฉันกินนะ! I'm Thai and I really love Padthai! ❤❤❤

@@mynday4491exactly. Pad Thai is super common internationally and it’s one of maybe 10 dishes international people eat when eating Thai food and it’s the most common. So when they go to Thailand, the come in with just that small number of dishes they know so they eat pad Thai a lot. But locals have hundreds of common dishes so it’s just 1 of 300 options for them while it’s 1 of 10 options for tourist
I’m Mexican American and I travel a lot in Mexico. In the US, tacos are usually served with about 6-8 meat options. Im currently in Mexico and I see maybe 30-40 meat options. There might be 8 meat options purely from the face or head that almost never get severed in the US but are popular in Mexico. There are maybe another 4-6 organ meats popular in Mexico that almost never get served in the US. Etc etc

Well done my friend 👏 💯 - You are right Thai food is wonderful to share many dishes among a group of friends. It looks like they serve their dishes healthier than we do Thai food in N .America , less heavy on the carbs, heavier on the vegetables. Also the papaya is very affordably priced there, here in Canada that would be very expensive, I'd be in heaven, I love tropical fruits...

best thing to do here in thailand is really to add alittle chili with every meal to build up your tolerance and tastebuds
After +15 years working and living Bangkok i can even eat super spicy isaan food without burning up and i love that kick and feel of cooling down my body chili gives.
For me the ultimate street food is always Phat kaphrao also spelled pad kaprow, pad kaprao ( ผัดกะเพรา,) with moo (minced pork) or gai (chicken)or mo krab(porkbelly) with rice and a fried egg..most days i eat it for at least one meal and it cost around 50-70 baht (under 2 usd)
pretty funny u pay about 4 times more than normal local normalprice. =)

    Some tips for Thailand
Thailand like all countries have different grades of Supermarkets.
Big C- the low price range, this is a good place to get basics that maybe you've forgotten but don't want to splurge.
Tesco Lotus- Mid ranged price, this supermarket offers a more wide variety of products from Big C but are more expensive.
Terminal 21- (This is just a recommendation of mine, their food court is famous for it's wide variety of food while still being affordable) since this mall is in the mid-priced range It is more popular with locals and is less of a tourist trap.
Robinson- Higher end price range, this supermarket has the most international brands, so if you've forgotten a specific product back home and really need it Robinson is most likely to have it.
Central - These are malls are large multi store structures and host a wide variety of shops, they focus on luxary shopping in general.

I got this idea from Mango Mango desserts chain which is Hong Kongese and one of my favorite ideas lately. That is one of their bowls and then they also have one that has mango and pomelo which is famous from Hong Kong. Best thing to do with Asian fruit. If you are in Thailand though my favorite produce you must try is called holy krapao. Usually served with minced meat dip dishes, holy krapao is the most underrated Thai food. I also really like any shave ice with dragonfruit or like in Japan with blanched peaches. Friendly reminder that durian contains pretty high potassium ever for a healthy person you could overdo potassium with durians, mango, banana. So dragonfruit is a great refreshing one that is rather low in this potassium. If I was in Thailand I might go for a green Thai tea with little bit of the fresh Kratom, that would be nice. They say the betel/pang helps to regulate dopamine levels to articulate amounts. I think this helped me recently during a traumatic head injury episode. Very nice. Enjoy hammocks and things you cannot do in Russia in Thailand friend.

Gr8 vlog. It’s fun to see Thai food. The prices in the supermarket seemed high. I wonder how ordinary Thai residents can afford those prices? 🫢
Whilst recently on holiday in Norway my wife and I had fun looking around the supermarkets and fish markets 👍

Love the video, Niki! When I travel, I just want to see amazing architecture/landscapes/scenery, relax, and eat delicious food LOL. Do you have any plans to visit China again soon? I just applied for a 10 year Chinese Visa and am planning on going next year!

Your videos are really next level. Don't hesitate to approach TV stations or big sponsors like Visa with this kind of quality content. I remember how Ivan made fun of you on the amount of time you spend on your videos, but it certainly pays off.

A fabulous collection of food and snacks! Your videos must always feature food! But at that covered street food market l wouldn't know where to begin as there is so much choice. The grocery prices, for example the cheese, were quite high compared to the UK.

Niki Proshin, the man, the myth, the legend.. I've said it 2-3 times and I'll say it again.. I am SO glad you got out of Russia, and your content is top notch! :) I am from USA, and I noticed that Thailand's electrical and communication poles look like an electricians nightmare. How they don't burn houses and buildings to the ground, I have no idea!

Hey, thanks Paul! The wires.. somebody told me that most of the wires I see are the Internet wires, I don't know if that's true though. Someday I'll find time to figure that out! These cables are crazy all around Asia

I'm definitely visiting Thailand someday. I would like a postcard. By the way, it might be a good idea to have a 24 hour stream going for your travel videos. Maybe a lot of people would like to chat about them?

Four condiments that were served along with Pad Thai are chili in vinegar (sourness), dried chili (spiciness), chili in fish sauce (saltiness), and sugar (sweetness). One of the reasons that there is chili in vinegar is to show that the vinegar is not fake. If the vinegar is fake (Sulfuric acid diluted in water), the chili will appear paler than usual. These set of condiments is served along with noodle type food. For rice type food, only chili in fish sauce is provided as shown in Thai Basil Fried Rice.
For Pad Thai, you most likely add sugar or dried chili because you can get sourness from sour papaya + lime and saltiness from dried shrimp.
