    The second food vlog on my channel, hope you like these ones! I surely like filming it a lot 😊 The first one was from Thailand (ruclips.net/video/SCHHI0rn6B4/видео.html) and I'll keep filming this kind of episodes from some of the countries on my way. I'll appreciate any feedback and suggestions for this series. Thank you!

      The Pho and the Bahn Mi look so incredible! I wonder if the spice Cory is trying to pinpoint in the Pho is star anise? It's commonly used in Pho though.. so..? 🤔 GREAT to see you home again and making videos! 🤗 Yay!!

    I love your content, Niki! This "slow" way of filming and showing life one piece at a time is really wholesome. It saddens me to see RUclipsrs caught up in the rat race to produce, and become disillusioned with it. I sincerely hope your channel continues to thrive the way that you do things, because your videos are relaxing and refreshing. Keep it up, and looking forward to the next video - at your pace!

      @@fayepotts3279 You surely can survive in Vietnam (and other countries around) being a vegetarian! The spice food wouldn't be an issue too, usually vegetarian meals are more moderate with spices. The humid hot weather is much of a bigger deal! Dalat ins't like that, but most of Vietnam is actually hot. You can try visiting in "colder" time on the year, somewhat around December to February.

    In New Orleans, we have a sizable Vietnamese immigrant population. The Vietnamese population here runs restaurants that serve surprisingly authentic food, and this has worked pretty well for us. The "po boy" and the bánh mì use the same suppliers for their "French bread," as we call it. We have the same history of French colonization and the same love of spicy food.

    The dark sauce at phở places is similar to a Chinese hoisin sauce (if not just hoisin) and the most prominent spices in phở are usually anise and cinnamon. Some places spice very lightly while others go pretty strong. I prefer stronger, but light is fine too. And I LOVE Thai basil (though sometimes also called Vietnamese basil in Vietnamese places). I also love getting Vietnamese vermicelli noodle (bun). It’s amazing how such a pungent thing as fish sauce can be amazing when sweetened.

    • @NikiProshin
      @NikiProshin  День назад +1

      @@user-JamesBond Nice, that's very detailed questions that are easy to answer for me. Someday I'll record a video about it. I usually travel light, keeping my main luggage (two pieces, 40KG+ total) at the place where I base at the moment (or at friends' places).
      Here's what I pack for shorter trips, 1-2 weeks. For longer trips I just get an additional set of clothes and probably one more pair of shoes.
      My clothes essentials: two t-shirts, light pants and shorts, 2-3 pairs of socks and undies (check out Uniqlo's underwear (Airism? can't remember how they call it), that's super light and comfortable), one very light summer sports coat OR warm shirt in case I need it. One pair of sport shoes. If I need anything else, I buy it. It's super cheap in Asia, and second-hand stores are real good here too which are ideas for getting temporary clothes in case I need it.
      My other essentials: Sunscreen (you should have one). Moisturiser. Toothbrush and toothpaste. Shampoo and body wash in small bottles. A few other little self-care things. Laptop, DJI camera, a few other little tech things.

    • @user-JamesBond
      @user-JamesBond День назад

      @ Thank you. 40kg. is not light but I can understand how easy it is to get there. I can see that sandals are probably worn 75% of the time especially in Thailand where you have to remove shoes all the time going in a house.
      Packing clothes is important and forgetting stuff is a pain in the head.
      Anyway, you are officially a “digital nomad”. 18 months ago escaping the mobilization but now a digital nomad like me. I’m glad you get to find inexpensive places to travel unlike Singapore. Try the Philippines 🇵🇭. Congratulations on your success and keep up the good work. Thank you 🙏
