  • Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, Summer Festival 2007, August 1
In this video, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, a Buddhist teacher, discusses the importance of understanding emptiness. He explains that while many people have received teachings on emptiness, listening to teachings on emptiness many times is necessary for our understanding of emptiness to become qualified.
He also notes that whenever we contemplate and meditate on emptiness, if our delusions such as anger and attachment reduce, it indicates that our understanding of emptiness is qualified. However, if our delusions remain as strong as before, it indicates that our understanding of emptiness is not qualified, or other necessary conditions are missing, such as inner obstacles of non-virtuous actions or a lack of receiving blessings.
Therefore, it is necessary to gather all the necessary conditions, including faith, correct view, purifying inner obstacles, and increasing the potentialities of virtuous actions. When all these necessary conditions are gathered and understanding is correct, there is no doubt that we will gain deep realizations of emptiness.
Overall, listening to teachings many times and gathering all the necessary conditions is crucial for our understanding of emptiness to become qualified, which will lead to a reduction in our delusions and an increase in our inner peace.

I hope this doesn't come up as rude but I find him so cute and tender, like a loving grandpa.

In 1994 at the summer festival I heard him testify that he had travelled through time and found no beginning. A genuine Buddha. His teachings lead to great joy now and Nirvana later.🎉

What makes someone a Geshe is exactly what made you regret ignorance and arrogance and doubt what you asked after typing the comment, and prior to typing doubting whether you are doing the right thing. That doubt you develop is what makes him a Geshe and the foolishness you display a good reason why you should make effort to meet and learn from him.

Same way any other Geshe became a Geshe, the study and practice of a curriculum over many years.
