This is legitimately the most passionate, intense song I’ve ever heard and it’s about being unable to beat Megaman 1

This is in no way an exaggeration.
The player of this game has only played the later nes megaman games.
The game is significantly harder then every later megaman game. Just because you beat Mega Man 2 on normal does not mean you are ready at ALL to beat this game without the pause glitch.
Gutsman was a lousy choice to start with, and without cutman's blade, it's indeed hard to even get off the first screen in elecman's stagemaking it an even worse second attempt. But with practice it's doable.
And sure enough with perseverance he manages to get to the Yellow devil, which is the real brick wall of the game. You expect it to be hard, but it manages to be even more brutal then expected. Without using the pause trick, you will get brutally kicked to the curb until you get the reflexes, the knowledge, AND the stamina to win.
But you can't turn off the game at this point, or you have to start ALL OVER FROM THE BEGINNING. Hence, "i'll never sleep until i clear it!" With all the work to even get to that point, you don't want to give up. especially if you struggled a lot to get there.
This game crushed a LOT of souls back in the day, until the cheat got spread, and you could beat the yellow devil the first time the eye opened.
i can beat the game glitchless and without using any continues

Before playing Megaman 2 for the first time, the Airman song made me think he was going to be super hard, only to find out he wasn't very, and is an absolute cakewalk with the Leaf Shield.
This whole game however, Rockman1/Megaman1, is absolutely brutal in comparison, especially the Gutsman and Iceman stages for those insane platforming sections. I can relate to this song more than the Airman one.

@@joaovalentini8190 No, the NES version most certainly has unlimited continues. It sends you bqck to the beginning of the Level on Game Overs, but it never outright boots you back to the title screen or anything.
@@joaovalentini8190 It has always had unlimited continues. What it did not have, that all later games had, was PASSWORDS. you had to beat it all in one sitting. Which is what made the Yellow Devil so soul crushing if you struggled to reach it. You want to take a break and cool off but you can't turn off the game. and your parents might not let you leave it on overnight. hence "No sleep until Clear!"

This song perfectly encapsulates the frustrations with the first game. Screw those rock-quarries and screw those Gabyoalls even harder.
At least the Gabyoalls in this game can be destroyed with Cut Man’s blade. The top-like ones in the Zero series cannot be destroyed at all.
After so many years this is still one of my favorite songs and music videos, ever.

@@TheNightOwl11683 I’ll be honest, I forgot the Magnet Beam in my first few times playing through it. I always chose Guts Man’s stage after Elec Man, and so I kept forgetting about the magnet beam. I was able to brute force past both Guts Man’s, Ice Man’s, and even the first 3/4 of Wily Stage 1 (with the foot holders) without the magnet beam, and after that…I was basically stuck in that room confused on what to do because there’s no way to progress without the magnet beam there

Just listen: In the begining the kid is determinated to compleate the game, but at 2:58, you start hearing nuances of madness.

Player decided to go back and get the first game, surely it can't be that hard to beat, he beat mega man 2.
Player picks Gutsman to star,t and fails at the moving platform section repeatedly, gets frustrated, and give sup for the day.
Player comes back tomorrow, tries to start with Elecman, and can't get off the first screen. Gives up again. This game is unrelentinng and not afraid to throw real challenges at the start of the stage, and very damaging enemies.
Come back, finally figures out the weakness order, and probably goes cutman, elecman, elecman again for magnet beam, iceman, fireman, bombman, gutsman, using magnet beam to cheat the platforms.
Finally gets to the yellow devil, and gets pwned so bad it feels like all his progress was meaningless. tries again, and keeps getting pwned. But because he's sunk in so much time, and can't turn off the console without loosing all progress, doesn't want to give up.

@DiegoARS (Vídeos, AMV's & Animes) Yellow Devil in a Battle Network game sounds fun, actually. I always liked the devil bosses. It's pretty fun to weave between the segments, and even to clear several in a single jump.
He’s really easy IMO, or atleast the MM1 version anyways. Yellow Devil MK II sucks and I haven’t fought MK III.

yes, that's exactly the sentiment from the song. if you had a hard time beating the six robot masters, the yellow devil will pwn you, and yet you don't want to giveup because shutting off the game removes all your progress.

Well, I found this upload of the song because vgperson's upload of it seems to have disappeared.
The translation here makes _much_ more sense than his! I get the feeling that you know Japanese much better than vgperson does (based on the fact that this translation is much less stif and unnatural than his was, at least; I don't know Japanese at all, so I can't actually judge the accuracy of the translation).

Original doesn't even HAVE E tanks. 9 is just some cheap, masochistic, fake dev difficulty. Original is that proper horrific they-had-no-clue-how-to-design-a-platformer-yet NES difficulty.
