I've always heard it explained that the building is not itself holy, but people act reverent because of Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
So I guess since Jesus is there, then everyone should be reverent?

Except that Matthew 18:19,20 is actually talking about confronting a fellow believer who has sinned against you. Jesus quotes from Deut 19:15 about how 2 or 3 witnesses are required to convict a man of an offense. When this is done correctly then it's as if Jesus is there and He stands by your judgment and the man must be expelled if he refuses to listen. Similar to 1 Cor 5:13.

You are so right 👍 We're so completely immersed in the churchianity model for decades and centuries. How do we individuals change this model? How can it be done? It's just me! It seems impossible. But do know that all things are possible with God!

You invite. Now be prepared for improvisation, impro is a very well prepared thing. 1 you invite so you are the leader (are you ready for that? That is the the most important part). 2 have tables to sit at. The sofa is for lazyness and distracting. On the table your guests can put their Bibles, papers, ball-pens etc. And no one is distracted with shoes or to-short-rocks 3 you are the elder so you give the example. The meeting wont start so easily, or will start too easily but not spiritual. Have some experience in conducting a meeting? 4 Paul is clear: is someone falls in the word of someone else, this second has the priority to continue. 5 For the first meeting, ask our guests to prepare one point. Write down a list and evtl. tutorials/howTos: reading, prayer, hymn, short explanation of a text, personal testimony, recitation of by-heart text, etc. 6 you can ask a woman to read pray etc, but woman should not fall in the word of someone else, they must accept they can only speak when they are asked (same with men: they have to prepare what the Spirit wants them to speak for the edification). 7 in your first invitation, write it is your first time, you want to follow God's word and it is an experience - so "bear with me if I am not a perfect elder". 8 make an post-event discussion: let people tell you what could have been better, write it down and learn by heart your notes till next week. 9 YOU must know by heart the Aaronitic blessing, since you will bless your ekklesia at the end (twice: at the official end and after the post-event discussion). 10 Start with a reading (a complicated text you are prepared for, or you asked some to prepare for, is more interesting than a very well known text), a song, a prayer. I recommend you start with the reading. Its known from non-biblical ressources that the reading was the first point of worship - which challenges people to arrive well before start. Its not in a fear imposing building, but its more about Jesus than ever. 11 since you are the elder, you must spend time during the week to become a better leader, and spend much time with Jesus. You are more than a pastor, there!

12 put your meeting on Saturday morning, so no one will feel distracted to go to.their usual church. (And Sunday before sunrise they wont come).

13 your preparation: you must be ready to be the only one who speaks during the two hours, but maybe you wont speak nothing at all for all you have prepared. Are you ready for this frustration?
14 you can send in your invitation a topic or text you want to study, or declare on arrival you would like to extract all the "juice" of a topic or text.
15 telll your people they will have more thoughts about this text/topic and they continue in this - till all are in absolute unity about it.

I have watched all the 7 teachings. I concur with the teaching. I see also that the early church met in both the temple and houses. The meeting at the temple must have been big seeing that numbers were increasing.

Tom my immediate reaction to the edifying model is you cannot leave out the mediation of Christ at the meeting. He walks among the golden candlesticks and knows "our works," and if we need to repent he has "something against us." This is why the prophets were important at the Lord's table. The meal brings the divine council assembly to order. It is based on the new covenant which has new priesthood and better promises. God is there mediated by the mediator with His people and he walks among us. now because we are no longer separated. The ascension is active with "our participation in Christ." He is veiled in glory but not absent. The manifestation of the Spirit shows we are not separate but in koinonia with the Father through the Son in the Spirit. This is the trinitarian relational model of koinonia and not the individual or existential self generated approach to the Father. That is where your observation that God does not need anything and it is obedience that matters not our empty words.
My hope is people will finally begin to see what has been hidden. This is necessary to help the assemblies get ready for persecution so your work is right on time not late!

Can there be a dual component model where the building is functional and the attendees carry the presence with themselves everywhere? It becomes reverent in substance because we are the church gathering. The edifying is fulfilled as we engage together in teaching, singing of psalms, hymns, and the encouragement of One another. Can it be both, not one or the other?

Absolutely! Jesus did not die on the cross to start a religion called Christianity. He did not have a worship leaders.

After attending several churches over a 40 year span, I realized a few years ago that the 'church' is brought INTO the building, any building, because believers ARE THE CHURCH!! Once I got that, I could really discern if this building has the church in it! Many, many Sunday buildings are full of people, but sometimes I think He's hanging out with the sinners because many know who they are, sinners in need of redemption, remember the Pharisee and the Publican? Who did Jesus say was justified? Why? Sunday buildings are just that, used once a week to collect cash and get good show!! The man-made church is nearing the end of its run. It will soon be replaced by the Real One headed by the Lord Jesus Himself! PTL!!

I'm not sure what century this guy is living in or where he's living but his idea of a worship model church is not what most churches are today. In fact, anywhere I've ever attended it has been emphasized that the church is the people not the building. This guy needs to get out more.
