I’m from Toronto so I was able to watch all of those games. The one against Cleveland with the 360 i remember like it was yesterday. He made basketball what it is today in Toronto. I feel privileged to have been able to watch all those games live. It’s like being a early bulls fan with Jordan.
I will always mantain that if Carter could have kept this level of motivation and hunger for the game during all of his career, he would have ended as a Top 3 - Top 5 SG of All Time. His natural talent in his definitions, his shooting mechanics... His hand size, his flexibility and explosiveness. Awesome. Number #44 is an awesome play, that fingerroll could have been a big dunk. Great grace in that move, it looks so powerful! Thanks for this amazing compilation, so many never-seen before moves!
Apidra Iceboy I wonder if things would’ve been different had TMac stayed! I’ll tell you this, I don’t see Philly and Jersey getting to The Finals at all.
This is honestly my favorite nba video ive ever watched on youtube…between the player, the season that it is, the plays he made that year as a rookie, and the two instrumentals chosen…perfect mix
Vince could do EVERYTHING amazingly good if not the best. He is not just a dunker but one of the most talented if not most talented player in the league. To be honest I enjoy his layups more than MJs
That intensity and passion to go with those throw downs is so infectious, he's another player you have to thank for there contribution to this great great game. Thumbs up, hall of fame for sure.
Greeeaaaaaat choice of music. And looking back too, I realise that no one in the NBA since has been that flat-out cool. And he was only a rookie in this video
Great video amigo, brings back my childhood watching this man in awe. Great music (NBA Street memory), good montage with original commentary, Great watch!
If he had this mentality throughout his entire career he could've been the greatest ever. He was cocky, explosive, and looked like he wanted to humiliate his opponents anyway possible.
@@phenomfacemob1011 if he was on the bulls and replaced jordan i gaurantee he wouldve won the same amount of rings he was with tmac but almost everybody else on the raptors were lacking defensively horrible team
@@beast12340987 "Vince Carter would have won 6 rings with the 90s Bulls" is an untestable claim, therefore irrelevant. Untestable claims are never accepted in science. Analogously, untestable claims should never be accepted in serious basketball discussions. Carter won 0 rings, not 6. Period. "If, if, if" doesn't exist.
V.C. was an incredible player and he's still contributing to an NBA team at 42! I saw him on an ESPN show saying he wants to play next year and it's just a question of whether a team will sign him. He also said "no ring-shopping" and that he won't sign on a roster where he can't play just to try to snag a ring. His stamina and conditioning, playing at the most elite level, is beyond incredible. He should be studied. At 42, most people feel 32 and 22 in their minds. It's not that old, in normal life, but it's ancient when you're competing against the best players in the world in their 20's. Vince until 2025!! That's unlikely.
can we see a ROOKIE like him ever again? thanx god we saw him playin alive... imagine vince came to nba in 2018 as a rookie in golden state as he is drafted by them!!!! steph-klay-vince-durant-draymond
The one man currently that predates me going into pre-school... I graduated college last year. Gonna see the Rockets play the Hawks and I’m really hoping Carter plays!
He's hands down one of the most exciting players to watch in NBA history. Combine his skills with Steph Curry in their primes and wow! That would be the most explosive, indefensible offensive player ever.
You did great on those crappy quality 12sec plays from those years. I still have a lot from those early VC years (not rookie), and I know how horrible they look by today's wide screen HD and UHD standards.
Shaq, Penny, T-Mac, and Vince were probably the most *gifted* NBA players of our generation (Kobe, according to himself, was a product of patience & perseverance).
If you were a sports newscaster for the evening news and trying to increase your ratings, all you had to do was go to the highlight reels of this guy every night. People will not miss your sports news.
Prime Vince Carter was compared to MJ. The potential of Vince being the GOAT was real, especially if his cousin Tracy McGrady stayed in Toronto. Those two would of won multiple championships. However, once McGrady left, Carter was left as the only superstar on a team. Even MJ had Pippen for all his championship runs. McGRADY to Carter is what Pippen is to MJ. It's a shame, because Vince in my opinion, could have been the GOAT.
Vince is another “what if” player just like d rose. What if he didnt have all those injuries, what if he made that shot against the sixers and advance to the ECF in 2001, what if he was more motivated to play and give his all during his peak. Damn what could we have witness from Half Man Half Amazing we will never know
I disagree. Players with major injuries like Rose and Tmac and Penny and Hill are in a category of their own. VC did have a brief stretch where he was injury prone, but was very healthy for his New Jersey years, which I consider his basketball prime. He definitely did not have the killer instinct of Kobe or Jordan, which is the highest standard obviously. To me it feels pointless to wonder “what if”. He is who he is: an extremely talented and exciting scorer. He could lead a team to a first round win, but never was a player to say “give me the ball, I’m taking all the shots”. That’s not his personality. The fans and media wanted him to be the best, and while he fell short of being a Kobe or Jordan, for a decade he was a top tier shooting guard in this league who at his peak was THE most entertaining player in the league, and inspired a whole generation.
@@MaxaMillion711 well put. As much talent he has/had, the killer instinct wasn't there to put him at Jordan's level. He had the talent to be the best, but you're right, at his peak he was a top 10-20 player and has had a great career, was the most exciting player and a huge inspiration. My all time favorite.
It was juste un rookie...............And he is still flying on the court, unbelievable! If Bruce Bowen hasn't destroy VC15's ankle, I believe VC15 would fly more time, perhaps he could win the title at Mavs at 2014

Yeah I agree. Not everyone is wired to want to be the very best.
I agree 100% and Vince is my favorite player of all time
VC just lacks mentality like Kobe and MJ. I just wish TMac didn't leave him in the first place.

Besides all that he is the nicest guy off the court too gotta love Vince Carter

Vince was always fun to watch
In his rookie season he had that raw Shawn Kemp funk.
He lost that swagger to me. 98-99, he drove like a man possessed! Then, I felt like he started settling for fallaways.

Hands down best dunker of all time. Awesome vid. The 2 hand 360 against Houston should've been in the top 5.
Another awesome video Max. I hope VC comes home
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that VC was destroying the LA Knights till Calvin Cambridge showed up and beat the Raps at the buzzer.

The Ultimate Athlete, skilled and talented in every way.Literally my favorite basketball player ever.Real Talk!#1 Baby.Half man/Half amazing.
