  • GREEK MYTHOLOGY: How did the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor end up in the sky? - Artemis' Confession
The tale of Callisto and Arcas, the people behind the constellation. Artemis confesses and explains the tragic tale of Callisto. Full of betrayal and deception, this twisting turning myth is just the start of the myths about the stars. Zeus and Hera themselves have stakes in this story and do their best to turn the balance in their favour...
Living Mythology is an attempt to entertain, relax and educate all in the one place. We are trying to forge narratives so that people can experience the religions and mythologies of the world as they were meant to be. Not as dry academic monoliths, but as living breathing tales and parables as experienced by the peoples who worshipped these beings, in an attempt to make sense of their own lives and the world around them.
This channel is in its infancy, so we hope to improve and develop it as we gain more experience.
All of the tales are taken from very conflicting traditions across many centuries, so there will be many a moment when decisions need to be made to create a more cohesive narrative. If we present something that seems to be in contrast to details, rest assured we have researched many forms of the traditions and come to the conclusions we have done to form the videos.
There will NEVER be total agreement on any of these narratives due to the history and differing ways they developed over the centuries.
These videos are for entertainment and an easy gateway to the subject. If you wish more academic details then please direct your attention to the wide source material and others who perform those types of academic video essays.

this has been a trying week. Emotionally exhausting.
So it is good to sit with a warm drink by the fire and listen. I do so love the stars and the night sky. Twinkling little lights. Old ghosts and memories to act as companions in the long dark.
As ever and always, Baldermort and Lightbringer, Thank you both.

Usually, I have some deeper thoughts on your tales. But this one in particular, I just enjoyed it in the telling. This by no means meant as an insult. I genuinely enjoyed this tale. It almost felt like a folk tale told around a campfire. As always, your work is unprecedented in its execution. Keep up the fantastic work. I wish a joyful Lupercalia to you, Lady Lightbringer, and Sir Baldermort.

Maiden most fierce, most fair...tis' true many tales begin with Zeus's ministrations, as did your own. Your Father is,well...His wandering eye falls upon many...but he is your Sire. You are most fortunate He treasures you so...few others could be so discouraging when speaking of Him and remain unharmed....

I’m not sure I understand what becoming a constellation is like….
Is it better than dying and going to the underworld?
Seems like the constellation fate would be stale or would essentially be like being stuck in Amber with a smile on your face.

I love these stories but they make me confused she says she's mad because she broke her vow of chastity and that having a children conflicts with the hunt doing so fights nature she says when just moments before she admits her and her people were hunting deer seems to me that's just the same as fighting nature but what do I know I am but a mortal to eyes of a god or goddess 🤷
