Remember - when it comes to treating and preventing stretch marks, the idea is to keep the skin supple and hydrated! And this doesn’t just apply to women who are pregnant - but for anyone (man or woman) losing or gaining weight, especially at a rapid speed, ensuring the skin is moisturised before and after workouts as well can enormously decrease and fade the appearance of stretch marks.
    Products I used and liked:
    • Kimrica Coconut Oil
    • Wishcare Retinol Body Lotion
    • Verse Retinol Body Lotion
    • Palmers Cocoa Butter Body Oil
    •
⏺️ Disclaimer - Please note that this video doesn’t intend to amplify ‘the need to ‘get rid of stretch marks’, demonise them or look down upon them. This is just me sharing what worked for me and is aimed at helping those who may want to minimise the appearance of stretch marks.
I am not a dermatologist. This video is based on personal trial and research. Please patch test, do your own research and check with your physician before use.

The genetics part is so true.
My mother had both me and my brother in the early 2000s that too in a rural area and back then there was no such knowledge of stretch marks and preventing it and therefore she did nothing to avoid it and despite that she has no stretch marks in her body. And even today when she has gained so much weight she still haven't got any stretch marks whereas I on the other hand have numerous marks since teenage because of the weight gain. So I feel it's mostly genetics and having or not having it is completely normal. ❤

I had stretch marks from puberty on the back of my knees and my hips. When I got pregnant at 30 , I never got stretch marks anywhere. First noticed my stretchmarks appearing when I was in 4th grade. I was 9 years old. I can say its largely due to my genetics because all my cousins on my father's side have it too, also my siblings, no matter the gender, male and female, we both have them.. i love wearing sleeveless tops and many people keep noticing the stretchmarks at my back, near my armpits so being a teenager, it really bring my confidence down and it makes me feel so insecure. Now that Im in my early 20s, i start accepting and loving them because its a sign of my growth

I am a midwife student and I hate this topic so so much but (it is evidence based knowledge) no matter how much oil or moisturiser you will use, some women/people are just predisposed to stretch marks. Stretch marks have something to do with your tissues. You cannot change the structure and „durability“ of them by using moisturiser or oil. Some people are just „lucky“ enough to not get them and some will just get them no matter what. Instead of setting yourself up for disappointment you could see them as a reminder for how strong our bodies are and how they will change. We are beautiful with or without stretch marks. Does not change! Love ❤️

I moisturized every single day.. twice and My mom never got stretch marks. Even then I got a few at the bottom. It completely depends on the rate at which your belly grows. No amount of moisturising can stop what is meant to happen. But all these marks eventually fade away and turn silver/white. Dont fall for these "products". You can always go for laser therapy and retinol afterwards to help lighten the marks. Think of them as little souvenirs for the insane journey you just went through❤

Best thing to do is accept that your body will change in unpredictable ways during those 9 months, and be okay with it. Disclaimer: I’m not saying don’t moisturize. I think stretch marks depends on individuals, I didn't get a single stretch mark and I didn't do anything in particular to avoid it.

Im a doctor and i will tell u thats its genetics. The last 4 months pf my pregnancy i was bedridden due to a nerve compression problem amd was it constant pain that i didnt have the energy or the state of mind to moisturise my tummy or anything else. I delivered my baby at term wit no stretch marks at all.
If you are going to have stretch marks, u will get it depsite whatever u put on your tummy. U can probably minimise it if you do not gain too much weight during pregnancy.

No dont use retinop, retinoid, retino-a or any such creams. When i had break outs before marriage, doctor gave me retino-a and specifically told me to stop using it if i get pregnant and then start when my child stop having breast milk. So this one during such time is a big NO.

No offence but giving such advice based on the single pregnancy experience you had is a bit of 'stretch'. Pregnancy stretch marks depend on a variety of factors:-
    1) Mother's body type and her health. Nutrition, geography, genetics play a big role.
    2) Size and weight of the baby. Some babies are bigger than usual. Having twins can also make the belly stretch more.
    3) Number of births. A lot of women don't get stretch marks in their first pregnancy and even if they get, it fades away quickly. However they may get prominent stretch marks in subsequent full term pregnancies.
In short, no oil or moisturizer can prevent stretch marks if universe decided that you are going to have those trophies of war 😅.

    I did the same
I used vasalin body lotion daily on my belly during pregnancy
And I have very few marks ( stretch marks) like really few that I don't even realise that 😊

I didn’t at all moisturise my belly and I don’t at all have stretch marks but my younger sister did and she does have stretch marks. Moisturising is just a myth, stretch marks depends on the skin type one has

It comes with genetic, and/or you just born with thicker skin than other. Like, i have 5 aunts from mom side have stretch mark, but there is one have none at all. She gave birth to 5 children. Even hardly have wrinkles, where she almost 60. While i am, have gen from both side, mom and dad who have it, make me easily get stretch mark.
