Thank you for showing newbald my great great grand parents and great grand parents are from there . The 1871 census says the were living at tiger inn and my great great grandfather was a shoe maker
Newbald Village Hall has a good profile on the UK folk and Americana scene, with nationally and internationally acclaimed artists regularly including it on their tours… we’d love to see you there!
Thank you for showing Newbald, my father was born in South Newbald and you showed the farmhouse his grandparents used to own, our family now live in Australia
Just come across this video, lovely to see our village an so much information about its history! From what i know, the memorial you showed that you said was the whipping stone was actually a newly constructed memorial a few years ago, the original whipping stone still lays next to it however!
Thanks Andy. Can any of the locals tell me if the field with Ings Beck running through it is what my Dad used to refer to as 'Coney Clappers', and do people still call it that?
@@TheVillageIdiot A coney is a rabbit, so I expect there was a warren there. I didn't realise the school moved in 1914. My Dad was born in 1905 so he must have attended both schools.

I grew up between Newbald and Sancton in an area called Sands Top. Brought back a lot of memories xx
