Dachsunds are the best breed ever. They are loyal, loving, smart, and silly. My Dachsund is not a nuisance barker at all. She barks if someone knocks on the door or hears a loud noise, which is totally normal. I can't begin to describe the amount of joy my furbaby has brought me over the years. She is my best friend and makes our house a home. I can't imagine my life without her. #worshipthewiener
There are definitely no cons with this breed. I heard about the barking but I've heard my dog bark 5 times in the 6 months I've had her. The barking can come from not socializing them to all noises, people, dogs etc. My baby also has the energy of a terrier but it depends on their parents personality. Her stepsisters are so chill.... and then there's her. And another pro: little to no shedding!! Have fun everyone!
We adopted a new dachshund puppy, she barks a lot! mainly when she’s attention whoring or begging for food😆 but she is so fearless, she is beefing with dogs triple her size, and she is only 10 weeks old. Really smart but sooo stubborn. Perfect dog for me lol like dog like owner
What was your experience with your Dachshund and their back? It really seems like the ideal breed for me and my lifestyle but I have a lot of anxiety about their proneness to back problems and IVDD? I’ve talked to a person who said every person she’s known who had one had to get the surgery for their pups. It just scares me.
I just had to put my 18 yr old mini down 5 weeks ago. Hardest thing I've ever had to do. She looked just like your black and tan you have but of course all her tan turned gray. She was the best dog I've ever had . We had 18 great years together and I'm lost without her.
i’m so sorry for your loss... i hate thinking about the day i’ll have to do the same, but it’s worth it to be able to have all those happy years with them. just knowing i can give my pups a really good long life is what makes it worth it too!! hope you feel better as time goes by...❤️
Nice vid! My mum used to have one, they were best friends 😊 he was very sweet and affectioned, more than other dogs. They had telepathy, she was able to understand all his desires and needs very clearly and he was even closer to her when her cancer developed and her travel to heaven was near, he would just stay as close to her as possible all the time, more than ever. He was adorable 😊❤️ I think you're right, they are extremely stubborn and sweet and protective. He was really nice to all the family but got a special bound with one person in the family (my mum ofc). Having had more than one dachshund in the past I underline how crucial it is for them to avoid jumps and downwards steps. We lost our first one for this reason (he got an ernia and we didn't notice on time to get him emergency surgery - 24 hours - so ended up paralysed and eventually died from complications). A great pro is that they can be happy without going for a walk for several days (you still have to walk them at least 15 mins 3 times a day for their bodily needs), but then they'll need a long one at least once a week (at least one hour, and can be up to 3, they are extremely resistant and can walk a lot, despite the tiny body). They are easy to wash and keep clean, they are really low maintenance dogs (walk them on the concrete and they won't even need nails cut, as concrete will naturally consume them enough). They are literally clowns, they bring so much joy and companionship to your life, I really suggest taking one if you're single or retired, as they make your life so much happier without requesting much in change. They can bark a lot so I suggest building the habit of you leaving them alone at home for 2 mins (and adding up more and more time each day) since day one. So they'll learn that you'll eventually come back and that you're safe and sound without them and viceversa. It is important that during this training and for all their live you NEVER and FOR NO REASON come back home when they start barking, or they'll associate them barking with you coming back to tell them off and they'll do it always, cos they'll prefer receiving a punishment but having you back, rather than letting you go and calming down. (My mum made a mistake there, she used to go back home and tell him off, and he developed a lot of symbiosis and anxiety, every time she left he kind of protested/marked the territory so she would come back, he used to pee and sometimes even poo by every apartment door and window 😅😅😅... So train them from day 1 to be a little independent... And never be overly happy when you come back home or sad and talk to them when you leave... Act like 1 min has passed/will pass since you left/until you will come back and your energy is calm an normal as always... I know it's hard, I know everyone loves to receive dog's special welcome back-attention, but you gotta let that excitement scale down before you pet them, otherwise they'll develope an unhealthy symbiotic attachment). Having said this, this breed is fantastic and has a lot of advantages... They can travel on planes in the cabin (if they are full mini), you can carry them easily everywhere, they are voracious but being small they don't eat much, they are extremely friendly with other dogs, animals and people if correctly socialised since a young age... 😊❤️ They are so loyal but careful if you decide to unleash them, they tend to get overexcited and not respond to any command, not even if you shout at them and they'll risk to run under a car, as they are very courageous (they don't realise how tiny and vulnerable they are) and very stubborn... They will chase a ball under a truck or a train...there is no hold back for them... Keep them on the leash or let them run free in a garden with high walls (they can squeeze easily through wooden fences) 😂😊❤️
I have 2 mini dachshunds. I drove across the country to get the first and when we wanted another we went right back to the same family and bought his nephew. They are so loving and smart. I’ve never had a dog that was so easy to potty train. They sleep with us and we have their doxie ramps up on the bed. They actually wake up in the middle of the night get down, go into the bathroom to use the paper and come right back to bed. And, my little boy doxies don’t lift their legs to pee pee like normal male dogs. They actually squat like girl dogs. So I don’t have to worry about them spraying on the wall etc. They also love love taking showers. Anytime the shower comes on they run for the bathroom and jump in no matter who’s in there. Makes for a funny scene when someone visits and gets surprised. They’re so loving. I haven’t had one minute regret having either one.
How did you potty train them? I get mini weenie friday and i'm trying to figure out if i should kennel train her at the start then let her in my bed later on
What an utterly charming, and very informative video you made. Your obvious love for these two beautiful dogs comes through loud and clear. Your natural warm personality must surely lead to your dogs trusting you completely, and therefore they respond readily to your training sessions. As a one time father myself, I'm sure your dad must be very proud of you. Have a lovely life, Olivia. From Belfast, I wish you rainbows.
My little Darla looks just like Charlie. She's 11 months and topped out at 7lbs. She's pretty small even for a mini. I was worried about the barking issue that I had heard about from other owners but luckily mine isn't that bad at all. I had other dogs that would always bark at any noise outside the door but my mini only does it every now & then. My neighbors down stairs have a corgi that'll sound off when they're running the vacuum and most of the time she doesn't bark back. The potty training was more of a struggle. All of my other dogs were 100% trained in a month or 2 but my mini still has an accident every week. She's almost there, I just wish she'd cue when she wants to potty instead of going in the house lol. Def the sweetest breed I've ever owned. Most loveable dogs in world!
The first dog I ever knew was my grandparents dachshund named Buffy. When she died my parents left work early to properly ease me in to the bad news when I was in the third grade. I had lost my second grade teacher to cancer who I adored and did not take it well. I too still love black dogs with cute eyebrows. 😍
My little man. Differently stared into my soul. Rip 6-23-2022 16 years of joy. He had different winnes for everything. Love my little man more than life. Miss him every day....
My mums just got a mini dach she is so cute she's absolutely bananas too loves to play and loves her cuddles she don't miss a trick clever little doggys thanks for the awesome video
I have 2 doxies , the little one used to eat really really fast also., when she was small , also it was difficult to potty train , took me around 5 months , but we all love both of them so much , best dogs ever , nice video ❤
First night I had mine I slept on the sofa with her in her dog bed on the floor. Every time she stirred I said go to sleep. Night 2 I crated her with a blanket over the top. Each time she stirred I said go to sleep via my ring camera and she thought I was the other side of the blanket and went straight to sleep. Not 1 nights missed sleep for me. Perfect! I agree smart and stubborn. And super cuddly too. Their favourite thing.
I first met my baby girl (doxie), hiding in a pile of leaves on a very cold winter day, she took to me instantly and became my guardian angel and best friend for the next 12 years... it has been 15 years ago since her passing and I still miss her dearly...she was the bravest little dog I have ever seen...I named her Nub
I have a cream and dark brown mini dachshund I named Banger/Smausage. He doesn’t bark a lot at all unless he’s playing, and loves to cuddle and follow me, his mom, everywhere haha. He’s been a wonderful treat this pregnancy, he’s my absolute best baby. If he potties in the house, he usually will run to where he pottied and run around it so you can see it. He is long haired and his fur is always soft but the biggest downside is with him being so small he does get pee on his belly a lot. He doesn’t like a crate at all so I allow him to sleep on the bed where he’s most comfortable. It breaks my heart I didn’t start him off in a kennel but he was also very small and the runt when we got him. I didn’t want him to leave my side. I have puppy pads in the master bathroom so he can potty throughout the night and it is a GREAT help if you haven’t crate trained, putting puppy pads on a hard floor and showing them this is where they go when nobody is able to take them out. He is very intelligent as well, and I can have whole conversations and it’s like he listens
An old friend used to have a mini dachshund, and she was like half the size of your dog, full grown. Smallest dog I've ever seen in my life. Like the size of my foot, a d yet hd infinite energy. This tiny dog, who's legs were a whole 2" long, could launch itself from the ground, onto the back of the couch. I have no idea how tf it was even possible.
I'm getting a lil mini dachshund in two weeks when she's old enough to be able to leave her mom and honestly I wanted to take her mom with her 😂 I'm so excited and doing lots of research now so I can be prepared for her!
Totally protective..& so loving... ))) & potty training was very easy..they just need the opportunity..I have a little bell on their door outside & they ring it when its time))
I have a Bernese mountain dog called Gus and I'd love one of these in black and tan since Gus is black, white and tan. I'd call it Chorizo. Both breeds are smart and stubborn so I think they'd be so cute together as little and large.
I have a doxie--pin (dachshund/miniature pincher mix), and she is a treasure, but you want to be careful about letting these dogs in your bed. Doxies bred to burrow after small field vermin like badgers, moles, rats, and the like. So many doxies tend to nest is a very unique way. On their hooman's bed, they wreck the comforters a lot to create a mound to burrow into. The more blankets and comforters, the bigger the mound the burrow with. This is common with piles of laundry on the floor too. And it's funny to watch, but it can be a bit annoying when you want your place presentable. That said, if you ever wondered why your doxie is always rooting in fabrics - this is why. I also live on a tree farm, and her hunting instinct to dig hits very hard after a hard rain because a lot of the field prey dig into the earth much easier with soft soil. So her nose goes active and you need to be vigilant with these dogs, because they were bred for hunting. So they will dig after something that's 3-4 feet deep into the ground.
Had two Doxies at the same time. Females, one mimi and one standard. No back issues at all. Be careful in how they are picked up. Also, safety on couches/beds. Teach the kids. Our mini (Sophie) lived until 16, standard (Lieb) until 18. We are on waiting list for a new Doxie pup. Thanks for the great video!
My boy Magnus inhaled his food as well. We had to get a slow feeder which barely slowed him down! My littler girl, Scarlett is much more dainty about eating. Magnus was a standard. He just loved his food. Any food. 😂 He was also a Black and Tan smooth haired. They are such sleek gorgeous pups. Enjoy them both. A lifetime of laughter awaits! (And probably inside potty if it’s wet outside. Or cold. If they get mad at you…) watch where you step! 😉
You just described my two black and tan doxies!! Yes, they're whip smart and so protective and clownish!! One eats his food slow but the other one just swallows without chewing, so dinner time is a challenge sometimes. Great video and both dogs are super cute!!
We just got a sweet little mini dachshund “Theodore” And he’s of course absolutely adorable, and yes people can’t seem to help themselves when we have him out and about. Your video(s) are very helpful, my wife came across this one and sent it to all of us, thank you!
I am an 82-year old grandma I would love to have another Doxie but I don't think I should. I have had two, both of them live to be 18 one was a long-haired red one, he had a lot of mischief in him. He did nice a back surgery at 2 years old. It was very expensive $5,000 my first Doxie was a perfect gentleman he did not bark loud and was very precious I loved your video
OMG, everything you said in this video is soo true i got my little guy 2 days and love him more everyday. but i personally don’t think there’s a con other then the back problems🥰
I’ve been in a medical rehab for about a year and I don’t think I’ll be able to walk again so I’ll be in a wheelchair. Any tips on that? Do I walk her alongside the wheelchair any tips you can give me on that I appreciate it and potty training them on a pad would help so much, thank you so much😊
If this is still a problem for you, I recommend swaddling HIGHLY. Just wrap them snugly but not too tight, just so they can't squirm out, in a blanket with their head out. Rock them saying softly "quiet, calm" for about 10-15 min. It helps them to reset out of that crazy energy mode and calm down (like a thunder shirt does sort of). This breed doesn't respond well AT ALL to negative or punishment based correction and often loud speaking like "NO!" can be seen by them as you barking along with them and encourage them to continue. So the swaddling is very positive, bonding and is a good time out.
@@elainereaper259 if you’ve had a dachshund you’d know they bark for almost anything, training them to bark less is reasonable lol. didn’t say they couldn’t bark at all 😂 (7 months late)
Hi my dashound is now 14months and so how did you teach your dog to stop barking at everything she's friendly and is great with my 2 Grandchildren but when out she barks alot and people think she gonna be nasty so how do you teach them Not to bark all the time.many thanks this would really help and yeah I love my Narlas eyebrows also so cute
My Niece has a dappled baby, who is so cute and sassy. She gets on with people and other dogs. I love watching her with my Sisters German Shepherd, who mothers her. I am sure she now thinks she is the same size. We are mindful of her back, but she does not seem to care at all and will happily jump on and off the sofa. She does have a little set of doggy steps to get on and off the bed though (worth buying a set).
I miss my Zack all the time! He was my bestie from birth and he lived until he was 18!!! That heartbreak was worse than all of my breakups combined (and there's been trauma lol!) Yours are too cute. I cannot wait to adopt another. My Zack was also black and tan and was supposed to be a miniature but he was borderline normal. Maybe that was just his big belly lol😅
Being a dog mom and a human's mom is so similar with the random corrections while trying to do other things. 😅 I find myself telling my toddler, "drop it!" "Leave it." 😅🤣
we have 3 doxies a red (dad) a black and tan ( mum) and the baby a silver dapple. Mum and the baby are inhalers and Dad is a slow eater . the old older dogs are barkers and very protect I would love to hear your method re barking. mum is at present pregnant so this will be her final litter s o in 6 weeks it will be a house with at least half dozen bundles of cuteness
I've had 5 Dachshunds over the years. The best way to describe their stubbornness compared with most dogs is when you say jump to other breeds, they say "How high?" A Dachshund will respond to the same question with "Why?" They're hilariously stubborn and easily have the best personalities of any dog breed.
My partner & I had 2 standard size Dachsies.. Talk about " Big Personality ".. For such small poochies their personalities are out size. They're almost clowns ..Tooo adorable.. We miss them both terribly..
Can you say anything about the size of a regular dachshund? Did you think about getting a regular dachshund? Is a regular dachshund the size of a beagle, or bigger? I remember a great dachshund owned by friends, but I can't figure out whether it was a normal size dachshund, or a miniature one.
Ohh both of your dachshunds are so cute! I have a dachshund, She is bigger than a mini but smaller than a standard and she is very smart, loud barking even though we train her everyday but my dog usually barks when there is someone at the door or when she sees a dog or hears a dog barking, She doesn't bark at other dogs because she hates them, She wants to play with them because we go to this dog park near our house and when a dog walks past she barks but when there are other dogs in the dog park she loves to play with them!
I had a red one but recently got short hair black and tan female that's 3 years old from a family member because they couldn't spend enough time with the dog. She absolutely hates when I go to work and will look at the window crying while my roommate watches her and follows me everywhere I go even if I just step off the bed she has to come with.
i have 2 babies a red an blk an tan an i miss my first baby he was 16.5 yrs old when he passed last yr but i love dachshunds best babies in the world to me
Cant wait to pick up my mini black and tan shorthair puppy from the breeder in a couple weeks. Currently have an 18 month old mini red shorthair and were excited about getting her a sister.
The only thing I wish I knew first was that it would be unbearable to live on without my lovely stubborn sausage dog. It's like being trapped inside a grey box with no sun and a huge hole in your heart. Miss you Yasha
I got 2 mini daschunds last week, hank is a baby, he will be 2 months on Aug 3. And we adopted his mama who Is 5. They are so entertaining. I wouldn't say the ppl I got them from are the best breeders, (they have 17 more daschunds of their own) its not a puppy mill they are certified, but the mama has breathing issues bc they smoked like a chimney in their house w/all the dogs and the puppies and the mama Cocoa is so afraid of everything, idk if she was abused. When I grab my soda when she's in my Lap she finches like I'm going to hit her:(
Hi Olivia!! I've recently put down a deposit on a mini longhair dachshund. The breeder expected to have a next litter in mid-2022, so I came across your video while doing my research. Thanks for posting this video, I found it helpful 🙂!!
Hello, I really hope you see this comment because I’ve asked multiple people and no one has helped me. I’m a new mini dachshund owner and my female is coming up on six months I want to get her spayed but I’ve read that six months is too early for this breed I should wait for 12 I’m not sure what I should do, because we also might be getting a male and I want to get her fixed before he gets involved. Any advice would help !
hi! the ideal time to get your puppy spayed is somewhere between 6 and 9 months. i got Charli spayed at just a couple weeks after she turned 6 months, which is completely okay!
Funny.. I have had Dachshunds since 1980.. Got some of the. As a rescue.. For the last 17 years.. I have the last of my Dachshunds that I raised from pups or newborn.. I have Never had a problem with them.. Yes they bark at a doorbell.. No problem !! I have 2 left now.. A mini.. And a Giant Standard.. Who weighs about 34 lbs.. They are old.. But Never any problem with them.. Trained them since they were little.. What to bark at and not to bark at.. Yes they can do tricks or learn very fast.. But they Love Hunting.. Thought them that since they were young.. Cause they Are Predators !!
Our female jack russel constantly wants attention & playing with and both our families jack russels bark at anything and everything plus often nothing, they are stubborn, they still have the odd accident in the house, they have destroyed soooooo many toys. They are cheeky monkeys. So I expect I’d be used to it if I got a doxie. I’d love a miniature dachshund when I move out and get my own house.
I have a female Jack Russell too! I keep watching videos and I’m like this sounds exactly like my dog and I love her to pieces, and I really want a mini dachsund so she can have a friend
The issue that I’m having with my miniature dachshund puppy is the biting. He’s even biting me and I’ve had dachshunds all of my life and I’ve only had one dachshund in my whole life that bit me and never bit me again but this one he seems to think that it’s a game.
Mine walks into her crate at night zero crying all night and never has. Rarely barks shes 5 months and never has accidents. Is a kangaroo around other dogs 😂 But sit, leave it, recal.... No chance😅
I had to put my mini dachshund of 12 years down because he broke his back falling off of the stairs that we had for him to get up on the bed. Common problems with dachshunds is their back when they get older.
I just bought a mini dachshund today, and I found your videos pretty helpful.... I don't know much about her, as she seems pretty nervous around us... Maybe there are too many people and it's a bit much for her.. I'm trying to get her adjusted to her new home 😊
Buckle up, it's gonna be a wild ride lol this is not an easy breed but you will be HOOKED on them. They are stubborn and feisty and independent but SO FUNNY and loving. You will never want another breed
Being nervous is normal! It also signals she is independent enough that she won’t have too much separation anxiety later. I don’t know for sure, but I’ve read that.
The biggest con for me was.. they are lap dogs.. they will steal all of your time. If you're retired and do nothing, these dogs are great. If you're busy most of the day.. even if you're home, they can be demanding in their own little way. I just didnt have time for mine.
Dachsunds are the best breed ever. They are loyal, loving, smart, and silly. My Dachsund is not a nuisance barker at all. 18 years that's awesome must have been one very happy healthy dog.
What a loss(( A very long life...
My condolences for your loss.
Heartbreaking, my condolences.
We just got a mini. Lucy. We hung a bell at door and she rings it when she needs to go out. Very intelligent.
Getting my dachshund 11 years ago was the best decision ever, not a single regret. They are the best❤
Nice vid!

I literally would die for my mini dach! she’s almost full grown and only 6 pounds like her parents! She is my pride and joy!
Hi can you tell me where you got your 6 pound do ie
* doxie
I’m thinking of buying one right now.

I had lost my second grade teacher to cancer who I adored and did not take it well. I too still love black dogs with cute eyebrows. 😍
I had two dachshunds while growing up, and one was Buffy!!
My little man. Differently stared into my soul. Rip 6-23-2022
16 years of joy.
I first met my baby girl (doxie), hiding in a pile of leaves on a very cold winter day, she took to me instantly and became my guardian angel and best friend for the next 12 years... it has been 15 years ago since her passing and I still miss her dearly...she was the bravest little dog I have ever seen...I named her Nub
rip Nub❤️ they’re truly the best:)
rip Nub lol
That is so exciting!! Yay!!
Enjoy!!
Totally protective..& so loving... ))) & potty training was very easy..they just need the opportunity..I have a little bell on their door outside & they ring it when its time))
Totally smart!
Actually my bell is inside so they ring it to go outside..))
I HATE THE WORD DOXIE WHY NOT USE THE RIGHT NAME
We just got a sweet little mini dachshund “Theodore”
And he’s of course absolutely adorable, and yes people can’t seem to help themselves when we have him out and about.
Your video(s) are very helpful, my wife came across this one and sent it to all of us, thank you!
We just got a dachshund a little over a year old about 3 days ago and I immediately fell in love
I put my puppy in a playpen with a patch of real grass so she could potty when she wanted. Worked really well and I got lots of sleep
Do I walk her alongside the wheelchair any tips you can give me on that I appreciate it and potty training them on a pad would help so much, thank you so much😊
how do you discourage them from barking? we are thinking of getting one soon!!
a firm 'no!' when they do bark, and when they stop, reward with treats! its a process but it does work! so exciting that you might be getting one:)
Dogs bark !!!! If you don't want it to bark don't get a dog !!!
@@elainereaper259 THANK YOU lol
That heartbreak was worse than all of my breakups combined (and there's been trauma lol!)
Yours are too cute. I cannot wait to adopt another. My Zack was also black and tan and was supposed to be a miniature but he was borderline normal. Maybe that was just his big belly lol😅
Being a dog mom and a human's mom is so similar with the random corrections while trying to do other things. 😅
I find myself telling my toddler, "drop it!" "Leave it." 😅🤣
I’m getting one tomorrow! Thanks for the tips I’m so excited ❤️
How'd it go?
@@skall1023 great! She settled in so well and eats like a horse lol. She’s got crazy energy and very hyper. It’s a 24/7 job but love her so much :)
we have 3 doxies a red (dad) a black and tan ( mum) and the baby a silver dapple. Mum and the baby are inhalers and Dad is a slow eater . the old older dogs are barkers and very protect I would love to hear your method re barking. mum is at present pregnant so this will be her final litter s o in 6 weeks it will be a house with at least half dozen bundles of cuteness
how do you discourage your pups from barking at everything?
we have a dachshund. they like to burrow . the only dog that can cover itself with a blanket and stay there all night .
I've had 5 Dachshunds over the years. The best way to describe their stubbornness compared with most dogs is when you say jump to other breeds, they say "How high?" A Dachshund will respond to the same question with "Why?" They're hilariously stubborn and easily have the best personalities of any dog breed.
exactly!!😅😂
The smooth ones are definitely yappy
The wire ones are very friendly.
I’ve had weenies for years used to raise them. Teach them not to bark. Mine don’t do much. Love food. Especially yours.
She's very beautiful and cute
The dog is cute too!
My partner & I had 2 standard size Dachsies.. Talk about " Big Personality ".. For such small poochies their personalities are out size. They're almost clowns ..Tooo adorable.. We miss them both terribly..
so sorry😢 dreading the day mine aren’t pawing at my legs anymore:(
one thing to consider too, they are diggers, so might want to install metal plates to keep them from digging out of the yard
My Doxie is ten weeks and bonded to me but I need to go away for a week in January.... Any suggestions ?
I have 2 mini there a nightmare to potty train and don't piss them off there def divas lol
Dachshund ramps are a must. Especially for bed.
Hey,
What was your training method for stopping the barking.
We are picking our pup next week and would like to know how you did it
Thanks
how do you discourage their barking that works?
Can you say anything about the size of a regular dachshund? Did you think about getting a regular dachshund? Is a regular dachshund the size of a beagle, or bigger? I remember a great dachshund owned by friends, but I can't figure out whether it was a normal size dachshund, or a miniature one.
Minis are 10 pounds fully grown but standards can get up to 20/30 pounds
Why does this keep showing up on my feed? I watched this like 4 times already for my future dachshund
WHERE DO YOU FIND THEM! Me and my family are looking for a red mini dachshund but we can’t find any:( please tell me ❤️
Your dogs are adorable. Great video. We are getting a dachshund puppy in a few weeks. We had one for 14 years and she was wonderful.
She’s beautiful! She looks very much like my little Dixie.
She absolutely hates when I go to work and will look at the window crying while my roommate watches her and follows me everywhere I go even if I just step off the bed she has to come with.
i fell in love as soon as i saw
i have 2 babies a red an blk an tan an i miss my first baby he was 16.5 yrs old when he passed last yr but i love dachshunds best babies in the world to me
wow! what a good long life! they really are the best
Cant wait to pick up my mini black and tan shorthair puppy from the breeder in a couple weeks. Currently have an 18 month old mini red shorthair and were excited about getting her a sister.
so excited for you!!!
@@OIiviaLeigh Only 12 more days!
That is the color I want too! I think getting two is a good idea.
@@marah3298 Definitely was a great idea. They instantly became best friends.
@@williamhermann6635 Wow, that’s great!! I’m so happy. Do you think it’s best that they’re close in age?
The only thing I wish I knew first was that it would be unbearable to live on without my lovely stubborn sausage dog. It's like being trapped inside a grey box with no sun and a huge hole in your heart. Miss you Yasha
Bro my names Olivia and my dream dog is literally a dachshund 🤣 they are so stinking cute!
When I grab my soda when she's in my Lap she finches like I'm going to hit her:(
Thank you so much. Super helpful vid 💗
Best dog for city life to live with them.
Hello we recently got a red weenie she is 4lb and was born may 14 is she a miniature
Do you think buying just one is too lonely for them? I have a cat at home and she’s sooooo sweet. I wonder if they would get along.
I think as long as you give her lots of attention it should be fine, like if you work or at school all day then it’s probably not the best
My first dog was a miniature dachshund 2 one is the white one name is Sammy and the black one is daisy
so cute!
I lost my wee longhaired 2 years ago. Excited to say I’m getting a short haired choc/tan in a few weeks. Naming him donny.
Hi Olivia!!
I've recently put down a deposit on a mini longhair dachshund. The breeder expected to have a next litter in mid-2022, so I came across your video while doing my research. Thanks for posting this video, I found it helpful 🙂!!
i’m so glad you came across my video! you’ll have a new bff before you know it!❤️
Hello, I really hope you see this comment because I’ve asked multiple people and no one has helped me.
@@OIiviaLeigh thank you so much ! I will get her spayed 6 months !!! & for males 6 ? Would be ok as well ! (:
Charlie is so precious!!! ❤❤❤
Best dogs in the world!
Separation anxiety is common in the dachshund..😊👍
Hell you say my babies sleep with me. They are kennel trained but only use it when I'm leaving the house. Otherwise they are stuck on my heels
How do you train the barking?
We've owned 17 in 22 years.
that’s my new goal!! jk, my 2 are enough for me😂
@@OIiviaLeigh We had 5 at one point from 17 -2 years of age and it was funny watching their pack mentality on squirrels.
I have a dashund too its 12 months her bday is next month july 15 and she is a girl and i love her so much❤️❤️❤️
🌸❤️🌸❤️🌸❤️🌸😊
she and the other are so cute!!!
thanks!!!
Girl you have a husband? You literally look 18!!!
I have 12 Dachshunds and I don't know what to do anymore 🤣
Resource guarding can be a problem with dachshunds but there are lots of videos on how to train them out of this behaviour.
The issue that I’m having with my miniature dachshund puppy is the biting. He’s even biting me and I’ve had dachshunds all of my life and I’ve only had one dachshund in my whole life that bit me and never bit me again but this one he seems to think that it’s a game.
Where do u find a legit and ethical breeder or mini dauch?
Best breed ever my 3rd doxy 2 years old now.
Can u do like training tips? Idk just a suggestion
Like how to discourage loud barking and walking them. Cause i feel like its different with a dachshund ya know:)
Mine walks into her crate at night zero crying all night and never has. Rarely barks shes 5 months and never has accidents. Is a kangaroo around other dogs 😂
But sit, leave it, recal....
Do they bark a lot ? And do they stay small ?
Yes, they do bark a lot.
I would love one. Where you located
Woah that voice change
