Ich war dabei! Seltsames Konzert, da Use Your Illusion noch gar nicht veröffentlicht war, und wir den größten Teil des Sets gar nicht kannten. Und die Stimmung in der Band war echt besch…. Und was habe ich am Tag danach gemacht? Zurück nach Basel weil da stand Monsters of Rock auf dem Programm! Mit AC/DC, Metallica, Mötley Crue, Queensryche… Mensch was waren das für Zeiten 😮
I was supposed to be at this show, already had my ticket, but my good ole squad leader in the US Army made me stay in Wildfleken another day for the M60 range. Took me another 25 years to see most of the original band back together. Thank you for posting.
NIN have been booed from the beginning, Raznor freaked out, rammed his mic stand into the piano and left. Skid Row were fantastic, really raw and rough, gnr abroad and ... well, you've seen the video. And it took a looong time til they began. And yes, it was so hot that day. As hot as the girl at the camp side. I've never seen her again. ...
Damals war das wirklich noch roh und wild… wir waren alle so alt wie die Band… aus ganz Europa waren Fans da. Wir kannten das neue Liedgut gar nicht… use your Illusions kam erst 2 Monate später raus. Außerdem wurde die Band per Knarre zum weiterspielen gezwungen, da Axl mal wieder abhauen wollte. Trotzdem war es das aufregend und ich hatte noch nie so ein vocalintro bei Sweet Child je zuvor gehört🙋♂️✊
I was stationed in K-Town Germany & was at this Concert, so great find footage from this concert (Believe it or not Nine Inch Nails opened them before Skid Row)
Genial. Ich war damals auch da. Vor allem bei den ganzen Spekulationen über die Veröffentlichung von Use your Illusions konnte man sich erst darauf verlassen als Axl das Datum verraten hat. Geile Erinnerung
war auch mein erstes GNR Konzert und ein Hammer Erlebnis. Lese gerade die Biografie und kam heute an die Stelle in der hervorgeht, dass Izzy einen Tag nach Mannheim verkündete, dass er aus der Band aussteigt. Er hat wohl noch 1 Woche weitergemacht und dann nach einer Show im Wembley-Stadion das Handtuch geworfen. Sau Sau-Schade...aber auch irgendwie nachvollziehbar.
He’s the only singer that I hope when he takes off running ends up running out of stage and ends up in a un cool looking pile of man child in the barrier between festival seating and the stage. Still a great masterpiece of a song that never quite got the props it deserved. Maybe because it’s 47 minutes long. Could be what did it in. Those of you that say or even think nut uh it’s not 47 minutes lo…. Shut up
Sorry all you GnR-Fans, this show was horrible, one of the badest concerts i´ve ever seen, me and my four friends went frustrated back to munich while Axl still did his snake dance on stage!!!
@@MegaPollofrito Axl left the stage after LALD and he only returned because the promoters convinced him that this would cause another riot like the St. Louis show. And on the next day Izzy sent a letter to the band telling that he was leaving the band and only would complete the remaining dates.
