My Own Found Film - this roll of forgotten 35mm slide film spent over 12 years in my Lomo LC-A!

- I recently found a roll of 35mm Lomography Xpro slide film in my Lomo LC-A that I forgot I'd started over 12 years ago! I opened up the back of the camera and was amazed to see it there.
So what does 12+ year old expired film look like? The results probably weren't helped by the fact I exposed the last few frames. I'd love to know what you think. Also tell me in the comments if you've left a roll of film in a film camera for years!

Really sweet pictures! I'm glad you didn't throw away the roll! I had a similar experience. I started to take photography classes in 1998 at a community college and had a horrible experience with a professor who got off making fun of you and your pictures in front of the class and he got physical with me once and I dropped the class. I had two rolls of Ilford HP4 Plus black and white that I took and completely forgot about. I found them in 2022 and these were the first rolls I home developed and was expecting nothing to come out and to my shock, all pictures came out like I had just taken them in 2022. The rolls had pictures of pets that had died and pictures of my mom who sadly died that same year when I developed them. So, my advice is never throw away your old rolls. Have them developed or develop them yourself. It's worth it. Great video like always.
Thanks so much! I’m sorry to hear about the professor, it’s incredible how a teacher can either be a huge encouragement or completely undermine you 😢 that’s so amazing you salvaged the pics! I’m sorry to hear about your Mom and your pets, that would’ve been so good to see them again on film though! 🥰
I was in the same boat a few years ago, found a bunch of disposables, sent them off and they ended up being a ton of family photos. So glad the lab was able to produce photos.
Oh amazing, glad to hear they turned out Christina! I’ve actually found an old waterproof disposable from years ago and I’m wondering what’s on it now 😂
Great story. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate it 😊 🙏
Pure gold!
Finding "lost" photos of your kids like that must be a wonderful feeling.
Your development from film to digital to Polaroid and back to film sounds very familiar. I just went full circle back to digital/digicams afterwards. I do still use my film gear - I just have challenges due to the lack of labs around here, and I don't feel comfortable developing myself because I don't have a good way to store the chemicals.
Yes! Same here NP, I’ve got into digicams and new digital camera post pandemic! 🥳
Same thing happened to me! The LC-A had been in the car for 7 years before I remembered there was film in it! I truly miss Lomo XPro 200 film; I had loads of fun with that back in the day.
No way ha ha! Yes I tried to find more of that xpro slide film back in 2019 but I gave up 😭 I have a few rolls of made in Japan Agfa precisa though. Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate it 😊 🙏
In 2020, during a pandemic-fueled resurgence in my interest in film, I took out my Superheadz wide and slim camera (successor to the Vivitar and predecessor to the Reto) to take pics of my then-5-year-old and I found a used roll in it. Lo and behold it had pics of her when she was around 9 months old. Glad I found that roll.
Wow yes for sure! That must've been special. That's one of my favourite cameras! I have the pink version of the Superheadz UWS and I also tracked down an original Vivitar version AND I bought a blue Reto version ha ha! I love Superheadz cameras, I also have the Blackbird fly and the Golden half! Thanks for watching!
I once found an undeveloped roll of C-41 film in an antique store. It was labeled “Mystic Color 200” which was probably a local brand of film as I live near Mystic, Connecticut in the US. I got them developed, there was a very strong blue-green cast but I did get back 3 panoramic shots of possibly New London, CT, sometime in the 80s or 90s. It was an interesting find.
Oh wow super cool! I have a couple rolls I found in other cameras that I must get developed!
Aha, I remember you mentioning this roll a few years ago 🤣🤣 So good! So glad you didn't throw it out!!
Yes! Finally got around to doing a video about it ha ha
What a great find and lovely storytelling!! It was also fun to hear a little bit of your camera history and timeline!!
Thanks so much Kary! In recent years I’ve bought some of those cameras again with a view to doing reviews of them 😊
@@MattLovesCameras Looking forward to those videos!! I got a Pentax wr90 a couple years ago and quite like it!
@@KarySchump amazing! Does your infrared remote work Kary? I bought 3 of them but none of the remotes work anymore, even with fresh batteries 😭
@@MattLovesCamerasThat’s too bad. You know, I haven’t checked! I’ll let you know.
Haha what a find. Funny enough, I bought that same camera that same year and shot a bunch of rolls on vacay in Miami. I’d shoot from the hip back then lol
No way ha ha! Miami would’ve looked great on the LC-A! Sometimes I forget to change the distance setting but I’m trying to remember ha ha. Thanks for watching 😊
