Pariston is such a good friend after his deepest friend Netero died he did everything in his power to ensure the organization his friend made wasn't turned into something Netero wouldn't want even if it was in his own twisted way.
People always forget Pariston was Netero’s “sparring partner” people don’t think he’s strong the Dudes a absolute monster that just gets overseen by how good he is at trick and manipulation but he himself has trained a Hunter apprentice that later on Earned a Star himself. So he’s one of the few 3 star Hunters the dudes a complete monster up there with Ging and Beyond etc it’s just a matter of us actually seeing his powers or Nen/affinity.
I seriously refuse to believe paristons nen ability isn’t somehow connected to to his perception of people / the way people see him. there’s something so unnerving about him being one of the few characters in the series that just inexplicably gives people the ick/chills. While pariston is usually 3 moves ahead of the people around him his entire psyche changes around people like netero ging and cheedle ; he’s like a kid playing with matches and then sees a gallon of gasoline , to him the danger doesn’t matter of it means he gets to see how bright the flame burns.
I haven’t read the manga in like two years at this point but from where i last left off Gon is still decommissioned. Really hoping they bring him and Killua back as main characters and give them off screen training arcs like they did for Kurapika and Leorio

Starting to think that Pariston’s nen activation condition is just listening to him. This would essentially make the ability incredibly weak but even just a grain of sand in someone’s brain can kill if it’s controlled properly, for example
I think an ability like "emotion manipulation" could work well enough to have a strong influence on others. He would just need to provoke the right emotion at the right moment to encourage the behavior he needs for his own benefit and could be subtle enough so most nen users won't notice.
one thing i really like about hxh is how there doesn't seem to be a clear antagonist, just "forces of nature" to be dealt with at some point during gon's adventure. there's no akutski, no father or world government at odds with gon's existance, sure there's hisoka and the phantom troupe but they're just kinda doing whatever
Also why the story can work even if you almost entirely remove the main cast. Like currently in the Dark continent Arc. Gon and Killua aren't involved at all and Kurapika is barely involved (mainly passively). This conflict between Troupe,Hisoka, Princes and Mafia all doing their own thing is extremely interesting

My speculation is that Gon left over aura is being suppressed by Nanika aura, from what i remember when Nanika heal the bird there's a white nen aura, and when he's healing Gon there's Black and White aura, indicating that's Nanika aura and Gon aura is clashing. Since it's clashing each other, the people around didn't feel the threat since the aura isn't for them.

You know what I REALLY love what Togashi-sensei did with showcasing these two and their intelligence? It's a small (or maybe a HUGE detail, you decide) detail, but when the chairman election ark started Ging made the very first move before anyone noticed(except beans) with that trick he did making sure his rules were the only ones drawn.But at the end of the election, Pariston made the VERY last move by purposely threw the election to Cheadle because he was bored as shit and wanted to go to the Dank Continent. Absolutely amazing writing and I can see why Togashi is reluctant letting anyone else touching his creation that is Hunter x Hunter. I mean I know he has aides to help him now but I think he could have had them help earlier. The fact that Ging has been set up to be an absolute monster from the start and knows nothing but success and almost perfection in peoples eyes as far as hunting goes, then is also shown to one-up Pariston every time mentally and strategically, tells me he might (and we might) get surprised in the end where he no longer has the upper hand against Pariston or another opponent. Since you’d expect Ging to wipe the floor with pretty much anyone. Togashi likes to put twists in things
I wonder if his Nen ability turns his metaphorical connections with other people into combat power. He makes everyone hate him, creating as much "distance" from them as possible, and they have that much harder of a time getting their attacks close. He does this by manipulating them on a deep personal level, so when he makes the move, it can always "connect." Probably dumb, but since his relationship with Netero was pretty much the same as it is with everyone else (except Ging), something of that nature could explain why he was capable of being his sparring partner.
For sure one of my favorite relationships in the series. Their rivality is so good to read, i only wish for it grow more and more, but at the same time, i kinda hope they're forced to work together, similar like what they did when running from thous military guys (But this time, with it not being a Pariston trick), wanted to know how strong they could be if they had to "have each-others back" for sometime, and i admit i want for it to make them hate each other even more
