I did the same thing with an aluminum stem in a steel steerer. I used the handlebars as the lever. The fork had a flat area in its front and back, so I could lock it in a vice. PS I've read that Sodium Hydroxide will help dissolve the Aluminum Oxide that causes the seat post (or stem) to swell. Sodium Hydroxide does not like skin. Not sure if it attacks paint, too.
most interesting fact is that the bike is an early 90ies Univega Alpina. I had three of them in my workshop lately that all suffered from a stuck seatpost. The build quality at Univega seemed to be awful at that time. They obviously didn't grease the seatposts during assembly at all.
Yes friend ...we are zillion with this same problem with alu seat posts....l would really want to come the time back and put same grease on it...but thats imposible.........yes ,you won one.....l ll try your way.....hug 👍 👽
Very simple technique, and a reminder that prevention (greasing the seat post) is better than cure.

if your paint is metallic, it will react with it, otherwise it will mostly affect the polish of the paint :)
wont heat make the aluminum expand twice as much as the steel thus making it even tighteer?

Pull force toward your body, brace your leg backwards so when it comes out you don’t fall, it comes out a bit faster.
