Love your cleanmyspace. My concern is about the oils lavender and the T tree oil. I read where it said not to use these oils around animals. They can cause bronchitis or even death. Please check into that.
Melissa, let your web manager know that when clicking on the "buy now" button for the pro kit, it leads to the small space kit. Love your videos! I have been making my home cleaning products for years thanks to you and essential oils. Smells so much better than bleach and Clorox wipes.
steel wool "pot mits" as they used to be called (not mitts to hold hot pot handles) have been around since my grandmother at least. Great especially for cleaning bottom outside of pots and pans. Problem is they quickly rust after wet. Suggest, if using big one as shown in this video, to cut them into usable sizes, use bit by bit, dispose of straight away because they discolor everything, like sponges stored with them, or washing-up water. If someone could invent a rust-proof one they would sell very well I think. Great to discover your channel Melissa!
Here in Kenya, Africa it is a staple to have steel wool in the house. We use it for pots and pansade of aluminum or stainless steel. It does not damage them at all. We use it for scrubbing bathroom tiles, for removing rust, for cleaning the bottom of your iron if you have burnt sth, scrubing your sink and bathtub, it basically replaces a lot of your scrubies in the house and it comes in the size you shows in the video for 5cents or a huge massive roll that you just cut with scissors as needed for about a dollar or so which last forever.
I bought the compost bin straight after I watched your video! Brilliant. My daughter thought it was great how the lid popped itself open with a click of a button. Now, no soggy bags and annoying loose ends that keep falling inside the bin! Love it!
I find cleaning with baking soda and vinegar are my staples. I do purchase the large baking soda on amazon and it’s reasonable. I know that is not a products but I find they are the best and I tried so many cleaners...
I love the Tubshroom! There are four females in our home with tons of hair and the showers were always closing. For the past year or so we’ve had the Tubshroom in our showers and it catches hair, is easy to remove every few days, and the shower stays unclogged for a long time.
We have been using the Tub Shroom for a couple of years and I love it! My daughter and I both have long hair and this keeps us from having to clear the tub drain or de-clogging. Also a big YES to a video on extra fine steel wool and its uses, please. Thanks!!
Yes, please do a fine steel wool video. Question regarding your micro cloth how do you wash and sanitize them? I prefer to have separate colors for kitchen, bathroom, and dusting. I love the sticky lint rollers to use on lampshades and in the car.
Yes, would love a video on fine steel wool! I love the blade cleaner and dull edge tool. My hubby worries what I will buy next after watching your videos!
Ohhhhh dear, that bottle brush had me laughing so much!! When you held it up, it was an exact for a disabled aid which used to be sold by a company I worked for YEARS ago, it was called the bottom wiper (I kid you not!) the toilet paper fits and is held on to the end, I've never tried it, but I can imagine it's a brilliant help!
I thought the same thing. When I was in a recovery unit after losing the use of my dominant hand they tried to get me to use one. My reaction? I'll figure it out without that!
My favorite cleaning tools are: microfiber cloths, our wireless vacuum, aaaand basic all purpose spray cause i make it myself and never have to go buy cleaning spray! Just water, soap & some vinegar does the trick. I'm also always buying baking soda & vinegar thanks to CMS!
Put your compost in the freezer. It's always just fresh food scraps frozen in time...when you are ready, defrost and chuck. No.smell, no sweat. No juice. Nothing
Especially if you live in the south, the first time we did compost in the summer - I put it under the sink to walk into the kitchen to a big oozy mess!!!
I saw a previous video where you mentioned your family does not wear shoes in the house. We, too, have a no shoes rule. We are currently moving into a larger home where we can have guests visit. My husband is not a huge fan of taking his shoes off. He does it for me. His friends and family also never take their shoes off in their homes. How do you have guests over (especially if they are in/out of the backyard) and expect them to not contaminate your floors/rugs?
I started looking for recipes for DIY cleaning products. I watched quite a few videos. Some of them are really bad. I am glad I found yours. I love DIY cleaning products and yours WORK!!! I am a happy person! Thanks!
very cool! @CleanMySpace how did i not know about the Blade Brush??!! that would come in so handy. I work at a farm housecleaning, was washing the dishes and one item happen to be a sharp meat knife. I ended up slicing my hand, middle of the palm, right down the middle. apparently i didn't have enough wash cloth between my hand and the knife. may be not exactly in the middle, but starting between the thumb and the pointer finger, going to the middle of my palm.
Yes I use steel wool to clean my cars windshield and get it super super clean without having to scrub super hard. I cut the wool into small sections to avoid the rusting.
I love steel wool to use. To clean pots and my glass top stove. So easy to clean. Specially with Pink solution grey pasta removes all stains dirt from pots makes them shining
I love when you do this! I also love when you go to Chicago for the house and home show. I bought the Green Gobbler drain cleaner and I am never going back! Tubshroom has also been a blessing in our household! :)
Thanks for your videos! I like Bon Ami. It cleans so many surface safely. I use it instead of brillo, magic eraser and to remove stubborn streak from stainless steel
I have a German Shepard who sheds A LOT! I mean I could make 10 plush puppies out of one combing! There is hair everywhere and I need a really good, no joke, lint roller. Do you have any suggestions? Please!!!
Yes on the video for super fine steel wool. I don’t like to scrub because I have arthritis. Steel wool is hard on the hands too. I have hard water stains on shower doors for years. Has never come off no matter what I use.
Hey Melissa, I noticed that you're using a compost bag with your compost container, and wanted to let you know that you should find out if your municipality accepts those. I'm bringing it up because I'm also from the GTA and learned not too long ago that my city actually recommends not using biodegradable bags for the compost bin.
My fav is the machine washable long reach flexible duster. Great for cleaning under the washer/dryer, dishwasher and esp the fridge. Don’t think I got mine from Amazon, but they have them there. I’ve had mind for 10 years, easily.
I don't do my own compost anymore but do save for the local garbage/scavenger. I put the scraps in the green bio bags then store in the freezer. I keep filling until up to the top then store them until garbage day. Goes out the night before or morning of pickup. Since contents are frozen the bag won't break (i had that happen storing in the refrigerator). If you have a secondary freezer in the garage or basement you can wait until you have many to put out with the garbage in the green bin. This is what I do with meat/bones too. Once a chicken is boned I put the bones and skin in a plastic bag, store in the freezer, then it goes out frozen into the garbage can. Seriously reduces the smell situation.
Yes. Do a video on steel wool, and how do go about cleaning grout in bathtub, And how do you clean silicone in tub that’s going mildew, and how to clean sliding glass door railing
Seriously, the tub shroom is the best thing ever. I've tried other stuff that just end up covering the drain and not letting the water drain out properly or just don't work. And I absolutely HATE trying to get stuff out of the drain. It's gross and goopy and nasty. My husband kept getting mad at me for clogging the drain all the time with my long hair and would refuse to clean it out sometimes. So I found that product on RUclips and it seemed to have good reviews. I'm so happy cause it works!
Thanks for sharing your Amazon necessary cleaning mini-haul. I agree with you, I see so many "hauls" of unnecessary plastic "stuff" that I'm sure ends up in landfills from the Dollar Tree. Less is more in my opinion. Less to clean and toss that is.
EXCELLENT find of CASTILE SOAP!-- picked up, Kohler scraper (did not know this existed) and Dr. Bronners castile soap (did not know about Castile products and its usage either)! Thanks for the links, and great video!
I just got the tub shroom... actually the tub, shower, and sink shroom! Lol! What a life saver! My husband is so excited to not have to worry about my hair clogging up the drains. 😋 also, I love the maker’s cleaning cloths! Keep up the good work guys! Oh yes, and I would also love to see a video on super fine steel wool! Thank you in advance!
Thumbs up for the small hand brush used for cleaning counters and near edges. I've been using one for decades in applications from glass working to the kitchen. Not the same one, obviously. LOL
I don't always buy things that are recommended, but I thought the "Blade Brush" was a good idea so, I bought one. I love the thing! It cleans the blade of the knife well - even after cutting something like cheese! My knives and I both thank you for this recommendation. 👍😊
a surprising tool i like is I have an old fashioned Linda Laudry Bar soap. its great for working on fabric stains and at times other cleaning tasks. super cheap and lasts seemingly forever.
I'm going to say 2:12, It's some kind of glass / plastic bottles or long shaped ornaments CLEANER. I say this because I have a similar shaped , Metal coat hanger with a clean rag wrapped around it. I get my bottles and ornaments cleaner 👍🏻
I just wanted to say how much I love your microfiber cleaning clothes. I got a set for Christmas and they are my FAVORITE. Especially the waffle weave towels. I need to get the minis!
Can you do a video on types of laundry baskets??? I know it seems like a straight forward thing (being just a basket lol) but id love to know options, sorters, plastic vs wicker
Angie D Well, let’s see if I can help! I hate plastic! But wicker, straw, and fabric will absorb odors from soiled clothing. Wicker and straw and metal often have bits that are sharp and can snag on lingerie or other knits. Therefore, I use plastic laundry baskets by default not so much by choice. I don’t want added work of having to wash my laundry baskets so I don’t use fabric ones! I have enough work! Lol
Re knife bristles, I hv a doodad that sticks on the side of my sink with bristles inside that is for knives and silverware. The suction cups work great and it is very handy. If it gets dirty I just throw it in the dishwasher. I see Amazon has a version of it. Cool!
I'm not a big fan of dusting so I have been storing small rags around the areas I frequent like in my bedside table drawer and at my desk, so throughout the day I can grab a piece of cloth and give the area a quick wipe just to cut down on how much dusting I need to do. The mini cloths would be perfect for that :)
I'm so glad the large space kits have been sold out lately because now I get the new smaller cloths! And the new pro size kit?!? YAY!!! Now we just need the flat weave cloths in a smaller size for glasses and to keep in a laptop bag. Also, yes, please, a super-fine steel wool video would be great.
I would just advise that you are careful with all those essential oils Melissa because they are toxic to cats. Cats lack an essential enzyme in their liver and as such have difficulty metabolizing and eliminating certain toxins like essential oils. Cats are also very sensitive to phenols and phenolic compounds, which can be found in some essential oils. The higher the concentration of the essential oil (i.e. 100%), the greater the risk to the cat.
Yes please on the video for steel wool!! I've used it on my kitchen sink before and it worked like a dream on some rust that had developed under a can that had been sitting for a while. I didn't know you could use it elsewhere though, I figured it would scratch. Would love some insight!
I agree with your take on hauls too. In a nosey way I kinda like watching them but I know its irresponsible for a RUclipsr to do things that can inspire other people to haul. You made a distinction: you said to make sure a product is for a problem you actually have...and that is very true. But I think another equally important question to ask yourself is if you already have what you need to solve the problem. There is a new makeup remover on the market. They say it melts on contact to get everything just so...looks like coconut oil to me! You may be sitting on the active ingredient to a "new" product the whole time, or a pantry staple that doubles as a cleaning, first aid, cosmetic, or toiletry item...and it's usually safer and cheaper to use, and better for the environment .
So true about that "active ingredient". A long time ago one hack to getting blue pen ink off clothes was to use hairspray. Turned out it was the alcohol in the hairspray that did it. So, why would you use expensive hairspray when you already have alcohol available. Same goes for the "Tide Stick" and "non-chlorine bleach". I use hydrogen peroxide to handle all food type stains with 100% success and I read the ingredients on the bottle of non-chlorine all color bleach and..... it's water and (hahaha), hydrogen peroxide. Won't be buying that anymore, and Mellisa has ALL the tips on using hydrogen peroxide! BAM! So, watch out for all those gimmic-like products!
@@cherylrevell3081 yes indeed these are all good examples of what I'm talking about? I also love Castile soap. MM does a great job covering it on this channel but I mean really. You can use it for almost everything. There are some times when I don't but that's usually a cost consideration or a rare instance when the chemistry of soap doe not jive with what's going on. For example every now and then I give the kitchen floors vinegar rinse to cut the crud on the surface and to deodorize the air. Not compatible with true soap! So I either skip it in favor of dish soap, a tiny bit of laundry detergent, even a dot of shampoo will work etc...whatever I have around that is NOT soap? When you know your products it doesn't surprise you that all these detergents are basically the same. Anyway thanks for the amen!
I understand and agree with what you're saying, but on that specific example, coconut oil is terrible for your skin. The molecules are too big to be absorbed by your skin, so it's very comedogenic. If it doesn't break you out, you likely have pretty good skin to begin with.
MAKER'S STOREWIDE SALE: bit.ly/makersclean
Clean My Space when’s the Canadian Maker’s site coming back up??
Love your cleanmyspace.
My concern is about the oils lavender and the T tree oil.

I am from India and wanted to know if you sell your microfiber cloth on Amazon India
Melissa, You should do Anti Haul videos. What product or item you find wasteful and should anti haul.
I second this!!
Joseph Joseph is my absolute favorite company. Everything they have is useful and innovative.
I bought the compost bin straight after I watched your video! Brilliant. My daughter thought it was great how the lid popped itself open with a click of a button. Now, no soggy bags and annoying loose ends that keep falling inside the bin! Love it!

my vote: YES please do make a video showing the ways to use super fine steel wool
We use brillo pads in the UK we use it for steel pans, backs of pans and frying pans to shine them and get rid of grease. Also on the sink lightly
my grandmother gave me my love for steel wool, detail tooth brush, and scraper for cleaning. They're always in my cleaning caddy.
Yes, please do a fine steel wool video. Question regarding your micro cloth how do you wash and sanitize them? I prefer to have separate colors for kitchen, bathroom, and dusting. I love the sticky lint rollers to use on lampshades and in the car.

Great tutorial: especially liked that the tips were personal faves of host MM. Excellent testimonial and guidance. Perfect!

Yes I use the super fine steel wool and it works wonders especially on utensils
yes, I would like to see the various ways superfine steel wool can be used around the house, thanks!

Gleener is the best sweater pill remover and as a knitter, I use it for my handknit items.
Yes, please do a video on how to use super fine steel wool.
Seriously, the tub shroom is the best thing ever. I've tried other stuff that just end up covering the drain and not letting the water drain out properly or just don't work. So I found that product on RUclips and it seemed to have good reviews. I'm so happy cause it works!
I use fine steel wool to sand wood furniture before I paint it, and for in between coats of paint. Smooths better than sandpaper
Thanks for sharing your Amazon necessary cleaning mini-haul. I agree with you, I see so many "hauls" of unnecessary plastic "stuff" that I'm sure ends up in landfills from the Dollar Tree. Less is more in my opinion. Less to clean and toss that is.
Love my Maker's Microfiber Cloths. I ordered some of the minis last night and some of the electronics cloths.
EXCELLENT find of CASTILE SOAP!-- picked up, Kohler scraper (did not know this existed) and Dr. Bronners castile soap (did not know about Castile products and its usage either)! Thanks for the links, and great video!
YESSSSSS!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I usually skip ALL HAUL videos. Can’t stand them. But once in a while, one might be interesting.. like this one.
The superfine steel wool works good. But I find it may leave small fibers around.
Girl I agree 100%, your cloths are an amazing cleaning tool.
Thank you!
I use a battery operated sweater shaver. Love it and easy to use. Less snagging then pumas stone.
My grandma used the super fine steel wool a lot!! Great wise woman! Please make a video about it
Tub Shroom is amazing! I have used one for over a year. Great item.
I just got the tub shroom... actually the tub, shower, and sink shroom! Lol! What a life saver! My husband is so excited to not have to worry about my hair clogging up the drains. 😋 also, I love the maker’s cleaning cloths! Keep up the good work guys!

I don't always buy things that are recommended, but I thought the "Blade Brush" was a good idea so, I bought one. I love the thing! It cleans the blade of the knife well - even after cutting something like cheese! My knives and I both thank you for this recommendation. 👍😊

Robin Holbrook , they have really cute decorative plastic laundry baskets at target, in different colors.
I have the bottle brush, I bought it to clean my humidifier. It works well.
I am curious what the superfine steel wool can be used for.
Yes Melissa, please do a video on uses for steel wool, love your videos

Cats are also very sensitive to phenols and phenolic compounds, which can be found in some essential oils. The higher the concentration of the essential oil (i.e. 100%), the greater the risk to the cat.
YUP! Especially in misters! The oil is deposited on their fur and then they ingest it! I had to toss all my diffusers!
My favorite cleaning tool is Velida antiscratch sponge
I would love to know more about your compost bin as I’m a gardener and could do a review
The "Dull Edge" thingy seems really useful! I use a bread tag, which is really tiny.. I might have to get that squeegee/scraper
Oh, please a vid about the super fine steel wool! I have only used the SOS brickets and I hate them
Yes please on the video for steel wool!! I've used it on my kitchen sink before and it worked like a dream on some rust that had developed under a can that had been sitting for a while. I didn't know you could use it elsewhere though, I figured it would scratch. Would love some insight!
Yes, please! A video on fine steel wool!
Yes! Please a video on steel wool. I have no idea how to correctly use it.
In South Africa, steel wool is very popular 😊we use it for everything
I agree with your take on hauls too. In a nosey way I kinda like watching them but I know its irresponsible for a RUclipsr to do things that can inspire other people to haul.
@@cherylrevell3081 great information
I understand and agree with what you're saying, but on that specific example, coconut oil is terrible for your skin. The molecules are too big to be absorbed by your skin, so it's very comedogenic. If it doesn't break you out, you likely have pretty good skin to begin with.
I need help! How do u store diff types of hangers? Hangers organizer doesn't work for me.
Yes! I want a video on the steel wool
