    I have an earthway, one day I'll upgrade to the jang it is the superior seeder by far. Curtis do you worry about unearthing previously laid seed when you run that close?

    My Jang TD1 did a terrible job of singulating pumpkin seeds. I don’t know if it was a brush setting or if I drilled the holes I properly. That was a good time, btw. 🤦‍♂️😆

      Ya, it's a weird shaped seed. We transplant pumpkins.

    Curtis, how close are you able to get your crop to the next crop in the same bed without damaging the existing crop?

  • @Blainegarrett15
    @Blainegarrett15 7 лет назад

    Curtis, do you wait till everything has sprouted, then lay your landscape fabric down? and pull the plants through the holes?

    Have you ever used the double plow shoe for jp-1. I prefer that when seeding carrots. Makes a double row about 1" apart, perfect for carrots.

    • @offgridcurtisstone
      @offgridcurtisstone  7 лет назад +2

      I haven't tried that yet. I just prefer to keep my seeder the same. I try to avoid changing things around because i plant so many of the same things each week.

      To reduce weed pressure. We planted them before the tunnel went up.

    Hey Curtis do you change the planting depth on the Jang depending on what crop you are planting?

  • @chickendrank8637
    @chickendrank8637 7 лет назад +3

    Curtis do you always buy pelleted seed? Seems like you'd almost have to for the seeders, but I've never heard any mention of it.

    • @offgridcurtisstone
      @offgridcurtisstone  7 лет назад +5

      I barely buy any actually. I think Salanova lettuce and some carrots are all I use that are pelleted.

    Hey bud, do you use the stakes for preventing the irrigation tape from overlapping on where you seeded? Or is there enough tension in your main lines to keep things relatively straight?
    Furthermore, in your experience, do you just let the starts work their way around the tape rather than sweating if you're covering your rows?
    Thanks!

    • @offgridcurtisstone
      @offgridcurtisstone  7 лет назад

      Yes, that's it. Don't worry about where the lines go, for direct seeding at least. Transplants is something else. Just landscape pins to hold them down.

    on your micro greens flats what does your soil mix consist of/ ratio

    • @offgridcurtisstone
      @offgridcurtisstone  7 лет назад

      I don't do the mix. It's premade. Sunshine mix 3, or look for a germination mix.

    Hey man, in more recent vids you've said most plots of yours are covered in landscape fabric and transplanted. is the jang increasingly unused? for which crops is the jang still used? most greens except lettuce?

    • @offgridcurtisstone
      @offgridcurtisstone  7 лет назад +1

      I still direct seed most of my crops. The jang is used lots.
