My first Sadowsky comes in Saturday, been watching so many videos on this bass in research. Super excited to get it.

Wow that’s beautiful! Where did you find that Pick Guard for the ME??
I few years ago i had one made by Pickguard Planet for a MetroLine Vintage Jazz 5, i love this look and how this bass sounds, is this exact set up and color scheme.

    •  4 дня назад

Just had it done here by a local and sourced the blank sheet of tort

I picked up the 4 string PJ Metroexpress recently, I know the phrase 'plays like butter' is overused but... it really does. I might possibly drop the Sadowsky VTC preamp in there at some point, but the more I play it, the less I feel it needs it. Tried it back to back in the store with some far more expensive Fenders and it wasn't even a contest, the Sadowsky came home with me, haha.

    •  8 месяцев назад +1

I know what you mean…felt the same. And yes the more I play it, the less the need to drop in a vtc….well for now. I have a snapshot with my hx stomp that controls that tone going from that modern slap thing to a vintage sounding jazz bass. And yes I wouldn’t trade this for a fender ultra sorry

That's cool. What the neck feels like for you? Fender ultra has a such a comfortable neck and I'd like to hear some comparison between the 2.

@@FagnerSerrano tried both in a shop the fender ultra and the pj metroexpress smx. They felt similar in the shop. The big difference is in the price. The roasted maple of my sadowsky make it so smooth!

Nagpalagay ako preamp kay sir jay ng final shape with sadowsky config same sa SX mo sir, how does it compare to that bass?

    •  10 месяцев назад

Malayo. Iba kasi q ng preamp freq points and headroom nya ang laki

    •  10 месяцев назад

Dati akala ko madali lang ma copy mga preamps basta alam mo freq kaso pag di mo alam q ng freq points and how the pickups work with the preamp….malayo ka copya…they work hand in hand together. Like sobrang match sila. Naintindihan ko lang ito nung nagkaroon ako ng sadowsky mismo

    •  10 месяцев назад

Tsaka tong preamp na to boost only. Mga gawa sa akin ni final shale before may cut.

    • @mykpausa9238

Yeah, the Sadowsky Blue Label strings are amazing!!! Sadowsky hit a home run with this bass!!! If I didn't have my 1st Gen Sire V7 5 upgraded with Bartolini dual-coil pickups, I would get one! I may consider a MetroExpress P/J which sounds FANTASTIC on RUclips videos that I've watched!!!

None bro. I’m using the gruvgear neo for all my basses

How do you shape the tone without the tone control? I have the pj very frustrating without it. Obviously i have to install one but thats 200 to 350 more

    •  4 месяца назад

The two band eq is a powerful thing if you know how it really works. Keep in mind this is a boost only preamp so you can’t cut. Honestly brother, I only use just a hair of boost on the bass and treble depending on what the song needs too. People say that it lacks the mids but really how the slope of the Q works on the bass and treble frequencies and understanding them can make you cut within the mix in live or recording situations. I have a recent hybrid pj and both the jazz and hybrid, cuts in any mix out of all the jazz basses I have tried.

Do you still get a hum when soloing a pick up? I never noticed it before so I am not sure if it’s new, or it’s been there. Only have the bass about a month. Hum goes away when both pickups are on full so just like a regular single coils, but I thought it’s supposed to be noiseless. Love the bass though.

    •  7 месяцев назад

Never got those 60cycle hum. Yeah for me this is the ultimate jazz bass…having tested and played numerous jazz basses…from fbass, fender elite to ultra and player plus, lakland, sire…this thing over delivers
