With lots of help from the community pull off the most Epic Recovery Ever!! Seeing the other side of Papa Dar doing what he does when he ain;t stealing comfort on the soft seat in Paul's shop is always a moment not to be missed. The fact that the community around that area is so tight knit, makes wanting to move there more inticing. As you said in the vid, everybody knows everybody, and everyone helps when needed is so rare these days..Full respect to all who assisted in the recovery, and thanks to all for capturing a story to be told for years to come.
I don't think FabRats can top this recovery.. Enjoy seeing PAPA DAR.. Miss seeing him on FabRats... Great video!!!!

Having Dar on a video can't be anything but good. He's pretty knowledgeable on doing jobs like this. The silo homes is quite an innovation. Must be hard to tell a kid to stand in a corner. lol Good video !

Having done contract work for a wrecker company scuba diving to hook up to rigs this takes me back years and if I start to tell some stories they look in disbelief. It was one of the good thins in my life. Young and invincible times.

They do make big recovery ropes for huge fram equipment and semis. That would have been perfect. Heck out yakums site to see the huge ropes.
I was thinking yankum ropes would of been sweet , leave the middle man out & go straight to alan .

Hi Ben I live in the uk and I was a wrecker and recovery driver and I watch alot of RUclips videos and this is the most epic recovery I've ever seen, thank you for getting everyone together in the making of this it is some of the best footage I've watched in a very long time, as for Papa Dar he's alway's there to give a big helping hand to everyone Heck Yeah, was the truck driver frightened about gaters or snake in the pond?? but this was fantastic to watch and you made me laugh and if i get to the USA I'll be looking for somewhere to stay thank to everyone in the making of this video thank's Ben.

I was headed to SoCal from Bryce Canyon and passed by this right before they started pulling it out. Thanks for posting the video so we could watch the recovery.
Well, Papa Dar can't stretch the truth in retelling this story because to many people saw what happened. Awesome 'TRUE STORY' and it looks like everyone really did pull together on this one! Also despite the seriousness of the situation, everyone had fun, and no one was injured. Thanks for the show!

I was in your neck of the woods last fall with my son. All I can think is how I want to come back... pretty country everywhere Maybe we will stay in a silo next time. I guarantee it would beat the pants off the motel in a Panguitch!

Great video. The insurance company should pay to have the pond dredged and let it refill. Who knows what contaminates are now in the water.

Me too, I figured he was either Paul's or Michelle's dad, but that's not the case.
Not related as far as I know. He's just a good friend.
I think Paul mentioned that Papa Dar grew up and was friends with all the Dads - Paul, Ben, Merlin, Sean, Ben and any other kids that haven't been mentioned.
Michelle worked for Papa Dar at his campground when she was a teenager.

Great video!! Can't beat Papa Dar for some good stories!! The poor guy in the semi wasn't about to get out and swim! Can't say I blame him if he can't swim... that would be pretty terrifying. You all came to the rescue and got the truck out of the pond safely!! NICE JOB!!!

You guys just inspired my next summer road trip. Heading to hurricane UT from ID. Then spend a night in Glendale at the silo's. Then on to Moab. Lastly I have a Aunt in Spring City. Gonna be a RUclips trip lol. Matt's, fabrats, trailmater, and Robbie Layton awesome. Thanks for the idea on the silo's. Heck yeah!

Good folks helping that driver in need. you all are good people. I just love what you did with the silos. I know also papa Dar also has a camp ground you can stay at, and i think you can stay at fab rats property next to the gift dhop, and grandma lolly will make you breakfast.😂
Now that’s a unique recovery, I saw that damage rolling into Glendale Friday. We knew something went into the pond. Fun to see the footage and method of recovery

Great recovery but I really need to plan a vacation out there and I couldnt pick a nicer place to stay but in one of those silo's
You know what we cool is they construct a large boulder pile and a large concrete barrier like they use on freeway between the two that should stop any big truck 🚚.

It is so fun to watch these videos, my wife Brenda grew up in Kanab. She worked a Houstons, on a road crew one summer while in high school, she played on the high school basketball team under coach Kelly, and her dad Duane was still the custodian at the elementary school.
Hey, I know who engineered those silo's, he's a really good man that actually saved his entire family when their home caught on fire, getting very badly burned while doing it. He would be a wonderful interview for you. He also has a really cool place with some really awesome greenhouse projects going on. @Heck Yeah Adventures.

I would have loved to see Paul bring his off-road record out there and see how much it really could pull. It's pulled a couple of loaded semis before wouldn't that be crazy to see'em in use a Yank'em Rope and just pull that sucker right out with no trouble with Fab Rat's off-road Wrecker...wonder if they've even got a 2" Yank'em rope?

Wow that place is awesome
But the truck and trailer was in a pond . The water was deep enough to cover higher than the tires and trailer frame . You watch the video , when it's pulled out of the water the trailer tires are sliding not rotating . PaPa Dar says in the video , they hooked an air tank to the trailer's glad hand to release the trailer brakes . But they couldn't do anything about the truck's brakes because it wouldn't run .
wonder if could of back feed threw the service line to fill the trucks air tanks, to release the tractor parking brake

My wife is in the safety department for one of Americas Trucking companies. She wants to know who to contact to release this in their driver safety class.

He might come from Florida State where you cannot go form swimming in the old swimming hole because you might 🐊 in the hole or 🐢 snapping turtles. So need to learn how to swim. Plus public pool cost money. Swimming in the ocean is crazy with sharks swimming 🏊 around on the beach.

Papa Dar needs his own set of Yankum ropes. The biggest ones they offer or make, same with the towing company and all the software shackles. Imagine the advertising Yankum after this recovery with broken chains.
