Hi Grant! Your board came out great! I'm doing something similar and wanted your opinion. I want to keep the bark on my board and not have it come off down the road. What do you suggest I do to keep bacteria out as well as keep the bark from falling off? Thanks, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hi George, unfortunately it is very difficult to keep the bark on the wood as it contracts and expands at different rates than the rest of the board. I have heard of people coating an entire board in epoxy to ensure that it won't come off, but I am not sure if that would be food safe. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.
Looks awesome, Grant. Didn't know you where one of a dozen identical siblings :-) My brother went to Italy last year and ever since when I go over there he busts out some charcuterie. I wish I could join you with your favourite part of walnut, but unfortunately I have no sense of smell. Don't worry, most of the time that is a good thing! 😂 thanks for watching 👍🍻
Thanks for the question Jack. The feet I used are linked in the description of the video. They are small rubber feet and I just pre-drilled a pilot hole and used the screw that came with the package to attach them. (#8 screw about 3/4" long)
