I have gone up to six months without seeing him. He'd come through town and we'd be lucky to visit for an hour. I told him he is like that song Cat's In The Cradle! But I changed the lyrics to "when you coming home Dan..." Anyway this song helps me get through without him when he is traveling on the road! We grew up so close together almost like twins! We are only 13 months apart, and as the two youngest in the house we mostly had each other to hang out with. We're so close as siblings! When he is gone I feel a bit lost! I love him dearly! I'm grateful to have such a wonderful brother! It would tear me up if I loss him.

He sent us, his sisters, a package that we were to find out contained a cassette tape, along with a photo book that he'd put together. He arranged for us all to be together at a certain time (it was actually the day before Christmas) when he could call and had us open the package and play the tape and go through the photo book. We opened the package inside, but the only cassette player we had around right then was outside in my car. We stood out there in the freezing cold, with my oldest sisters portable phone - couldn't get in the car or the phone would cut off. ( Portable, in those days, not cell, remember?) So there we were, icy wind and my car cranking as hard as it could just so we could hear the tape - it was this song. We cried our eyes out. We were a pretty tough young bunch of girls, raised in a military family, but, yeah, we were flat knocked down. Lord, I still can't make it through this one...
