Thank you William Federer! Please never stop teaching!!
✝
I have heard of some of these stories, but many I have not. Didn’t realize St. Nicholas was involved in the counsel of Nicaea. Great information.🎄
Very interesting to hear that story of St Nicholas from the Western Perspective. I am Eastern Orthodox and St Nicholas was always part of our holy tradition. I remember when on St Nicholas day in 1945 there were a pair of burgundy slippers on the window sill filled with nuts and a mandarin in each slipper. I was 5 years old and have never seen a slipper, walnuts or oranges. I learned that St Nicholas brought them because i was a good little girl. The war was just over in June of 1945. (we lived in Germany at the time)
Wow!! I always wondered why my mom put nuts and an orange in our stockings when I was little. Now I know. :)
@MinnieMouseRice It's a an Eastern Orthodox Tradition because St Nicholas was a real person and participated in Universal Council of Churches before the West decided in 1054 to be on their own. The East had 4 Patriarchs and the West had 1, the Pope of Rome.
How cute. I'm glad you had nice treats in 45. All my grandparents lived through the war. I was born a lot later but my mom always put chocolates in our boots ..
good morning, you use the word *tradition* why? revelation 12:9 is a good start. 🧰
@goholmes2510 ❤
..w h at do u mean?
All roads lead to Rome. All paths of our Judeo-Christian heritage lead to Christ. I knew so many of your stories when I was young, but I hadn't realised how they have become perverted or interwoven or misrepresented! I absolutely must get your book!! Thank you for a delightful video.
There is no Judeo-Christians. Christian share more in common with Islam than Judaism, regardless of what big media and big academia promotes
I’ve always loved Christmas and knew some of the things about St. Nicholas, and know more about him. Thank you so much for giving a historical foundation to what many consider be an imaginary character. Merry Christmas, Happy “Holy Days” and may God bless!
I really enjoyed this!! Thank you!✝️🎄🎅
Wonderful historical information! Thank you!
I enjoyed this immensely!!!! I so much want to grasp more church history. I have never been able to get upset about Christmas customs except for drinking and gross materialism. I think the decorations glorify God. Candles, lights, songs By bringing light, good will between people. Generosity. I know many people think Christ was born anywhere from spring to fall but I am just glad He came. Celebrating at the same time of the longest night and Hanukkah is meaningful for me anyway. Because He really is the light of the world . And Saint Nicholas was a real Christian
I agree with everything you said. For me the decorations, the lights, the candles, pierce the darkness in the world figuratively, and literally, and are symbolic of Christ piercing the darkness in our world. I love Christmas, because for one day people from all over the world stop, almost as if suspended, and worship the advent of God himself on Earth. There is such a Holy atmosphere.
And if that wasn't enough, it is the Best time of all to share Christ with others. Even amidst the hustle and bustle and excessive materialism that plagues our society, people seem to have an open ear and perhaps an open heart to the things of Christ. Blessings!🌟🎄🌟
Amen!!
This is so good. This stuff going on in the world was making me feeling guilty for loving Christmas. I love Jesus. ❤😊
Thank you for sharing this story, I hadn’t ever heard of any of this
Because you live under a rock?
What a fascinating man! I’ll have to listen to this a few times!
Thanks for this!!!! I knew some of it but definitely got lots more from this. Best short presentation on Saint Nick!
Wow that is interesting, l have to watch this more than one time, so that l can get more.... out of it,it's amazing! ❤ for me it's to much at a time, may God bless you 🙏 and have a Mary Christmas 🎄
The story I was told was that the tree was an ancient winter solstice symbol. As well as the holly.
All of the Xmas symbols are pagan to the core. "But, I'm using them for good, to worship God!" However, it's God's opinion that matters. A whitewashed abomination is still an abomination to God. He said, "...do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ “You shall not worship the LORD your God in that way; for every abomination to the LORD which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it. Deut 12:30-32
@@TheSwissHillbilly,
People love the lie. They don't care if they offend the Creator. God wants clean and truthful worship. Use of Santa, a tree, Holly, yule log, all have pagan origin and are elevated above The Grand Creator, Yahweh,. Jesus did not, as all Hebrews, did not celebrate birthdays. The world is full of distractions........
God made holly, evergreen trees, and the winter solstice. God can be seen through His creation and worshipping Him because His glory is revealed in His creation is right! It is right to learn about this and turn away from worshipping the created thing, and instead, recognize Him through His lovely creation. All glory be to God.! Read Romans!
What a rich feast of information! Thankyou for this super interview.
Bill Federer is a truly remarkable man. His knowledge and wisdom are such a blessing to this generation and so needed for the next. God bless you, Bill! Keep on keeping on.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful story ❤
Heard William Federer speak at Andrew Wommack's summer conferences several times. My kids took mote notes from this man and his knowledge all pointing to the Bible and Jesus. He is a great teacher!
Great research. I am German and I do appreciate your research. Merry Christmas…..Frohe Weihnacht
Fantastic - thank-you and Merry Christmas!
Really interesting thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
I really enjoyed this history lesson! I’ve shared it!
Thank you to your family as well and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
So glad i listened to this it is great info... with so much deceiving in this world that i stopped decorating and participating in christmas among other holidays Im just glad to know the true history.
Time to drive back out those decorations isn't it.
Thank you. This is a very good explanation. It does makes sense. I was on a trip in Turkey when i learned about St. Nicholas being what we know as Santa Clause.
Around minute 28:00 “September 23 is celebrated as the conception of John the Baptist.” And talks about likely time of the birth of Jesus. 👑
This video was amazing! Answers I’ve been praying and searching for. “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to search it out.” Btw my wedding anniversary is September 23, 2012. 😊
There are scholars who say there was the Bethlehem star conjunction that happened April 17, but maybe that marked his conception date (March 25 in Gregorian calendar) as the Jewish calendar goes by the moon and falls on different dates of our calendar every year. Or maybe at marked some other important event about Jesus.
Jesus was conceived December 25th and born September 29th we learn this by studying the course of Abia that Elizabeth's husband Zacharias served.
I have shared this today. Great info. Thank you! ❤
Saint Nicholas was A baptized Catholic Bishop not a “saved” Protestant.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ✝️
If true I bet Nick would hate being a character on a day selected that is supposed to put Yahovah and YESHUA above all.
Good point. Just as Miriam would have hated being prayed to as if she were able to answer prayers.
Thank you for your explanations of Christmas holidays.
He is a great historian!
Amazing presentation. Fascinating revelations about the traditions of our early Christian faith, that we enjoy today.
Wow, so informative!
I really appreciate this thank you 🙏
Merry Christmas!!
Amazing! I'm definitely going to TRY & do abit of research. Very very interesting n enlightening. Gracias & Feliz Christmas 😊
Bro....I beg do your research o! Many details left out about the true origins and many half truths. But if you are a Christian ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's mind on about these pagan topics.
Good to hear that Santa really existed !!!
Awesome knowledge
Interesting historical information on how these traditions of men developed. However fun or well-intentioned, I have chosen to leave them behind to follow the Word of God. All best to everyone here.
You have that in common with Saint Nicholas. Without men like him you wouldn't even have a Bible because Diocletian tried to destroy the Bible.
@@bradleesargent God would not have let His word be destroyed. My comment was about the "traditions of men" that developed following the service of Nicholas. It's about God and His son.
@karenbuckner1959 yes and he always chooses the right people to write the Bible since Jesus didn't personally write a single word of it himself. And he prophesied about the sages who would be the ones to preserve it.
@karenbuckner1959 God's word doesn't preserve itself by itself no matter what you say. Jehovahs Witnesses and the new world translation is an example.

This needs to be a children's book!
Voice of the Martyrs, 6 book series for children, called "Courageous." Also includes Patrick and Valentine.
AWESOME!!! I’m a a Roman Catholic attending Latin Mass and my priest mentioned in the homily about the birthdate of Christ but he did not have a chance to go into detail. This answers SOO MANY QUESTIONS
Thankyou, Merry Christmas 🌲🇨🇦
Glory to God in the highest and peace on Earth. In Jesus name Amen.
Really incredible history & evolving tales to get us where we are today - wow!!! No matter what you do believe about Santa, it all started with Christ our Savior & lovingly giving to those in need. Thank you for sharing!!!
What an amazing video! I am definitely getting that book.... we tell the kids Santa was a real Saint and that he is a helper to baby Jesus and all gifts come from Jesus.
That was how I raised my children to believe also. So wonderful to see others doing this I always put the the gifts were delivered by Santa and that they were from Jesus that Jesus gives with love and Santa delivers
Thank you for explaining about Saint Nicholas😊
He was an old man who lived in the mountains alone. He spent his year whittling wooden images of the forest and the creatures and give too the children of the nearby town. He was an old man with a kind heart.
I had my identical twin boys on march 25 mothers day fell on it and the clocks changed on the same day 1990.I always thought it was a blessing.🙏🌎❤️
Its worse than just being secularized Christmas. The church itself has denigrated these traditions of using objects found in nature to proclaim Christ, and falsely claimed they are pagan. Lying about our traditions and denying Christ in the church is NEVER an appropriate response to secularism.
Really interesting story! Thank you both for doing this interview!
This is so fun! Merry Christmas to both of you!
Luv this ❤merry Xmas 😇
Do not remove the name Christ from the word Christmas !
Christmas is about Jesus' birthday. 🙏🏼
@@mariajaramillo1135 you apparently didn’t listen to him very well. @marissalillyblad8732 is not removing Christ from Christmas. Just using the ancient Geek way of conveying the message. Peace.
In Afrikaans-South Africa, it's called Kersfees, "Feast of the Lights", we never received our gifts on the 25th December, but on the 15th December. Usually clothes, small toy & sweets. No tree, or decorations. Sundays we went to Church, and was reminded of GOD'S loving gift, JESUS CHRIST to us.
My mother in law was a Roman Catholic, who did all traditional trimmings on the 25th December. I explained to my children that it is all different cultures...
Never heard any of this😃 so great ty
I really love how you’ve gone back to early church history.
Amazing history, thank you so much 😁 God bless! 💕🙏
Except I've slept overnight in the Sahara ( similar latitude) and there's ice on the blankets overnight, so it is cold.
Taylor Marshall has videos confirming December 25th as the true date of Our Lord’s birth, for those who would like more detail on the subject.
🤔 Against everything we’ve been told about pagan religious practices? Thought Jesus was born in the Fall..? Doesn’t matter, bc Ik, that Ik, that Ik He was born & died for us! Hallelujah! Merry CHRISTmas ✝️🙏🏼🕊️🥰
Yeah and hdhould know cause this is Sooo factual... Not!!!e
Marvelous history! Thank you!
This video is wonderful 💜 It explains the history of Santa Claus throughout the history of the Christian church. I have never heard such details of the life of Santa Claus 🧑🎄
Thank you, this is most enlightening ❤
We learn most of this ad a Catholic as we study the saints named by the church of which these people are deemed to have such a virtuous life that others should desire to be like but showing how they are just as human as we are, enduring trials and struggles the same as us.
Amazing to know the history! Thank you and God bless!
Thank you. I had heard some of this but learned much more. Merry Christmas 🌲. Have a blessed Happy New Year.
MANY PEOPLE KEEP TRYING TO EXPLAIN IT AS A GOOD THING. READ AMOS 5:21.
The Feast days in Amos 5 are the Feasts of the Lord that people were observing in heresy and unrighteousness. It was like the people were living how they pleased, apart from GOD, but still celebrated the appointed feast days.
Amos 5 has nothing to do with a Christmas celebration.
I do think that Christians, in general, have lost sight of the fact that celebrating Christmas can become nothing more than an expensive secular holiday.
@@swimmingupstream5301 ELOHIM DESPISES ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT LINE UP WITH HIS WORD INCLUDING CHRISTMAS ETC.
Use to be taught in schools in America before 1990. Thanks for the video. M
Christmas celebrations used to be illegal in the Colonies and was not legalized until around the time of Lincoln's assassination when the Roman Catholics regained power in the nation (as Jackson had ousted the bankers and the Catholics).
Great video and history lesson. Thank you for sharing this. I love learning from William Federer.
I have studied my Bible all my life since I was able to read well. Also I have studied the origins of Santa since I was a poor kid and almost never got anything for Christmas! This was all very interesting! How can I contact this man?
Very interesting. Thank you
Thank you I always learn so much history from William Federer.
Saint Nicholas was a Catholic Bishop.
Unfortunately you skipped over that fact.
Your welcome and merry Christmas
THE DECEMBER 25TH CELEBRATIONS HAD THEIR ORIGIN IN SUN WORSHIP.
AMEN 🙏🙌 ❤️ I'm so glad someone else is speaking of about this and is awake. Praise God! The celebration of Christmas for a Christian is a complete abomination and idolatry.
You didn’t listen to the presentation - he addresses this.
@@peterworsley5507You are being deceived and/or not accepting the truth. Please read the KJV Bible about the wolves in sheep's clothing. Straight is the gate and narrow is the way leadeth unto life and few there be that are finding it and wide is the gate and broad is the way that is leading to destruction and many there be that are going in!
so awsome what we can learn on you tube,i love it ,thank you

I'm so glad I watched this! Thank you for the info.
Love the history! Thanks
VOM, Voice of the Martys, has a series for children of six books: 3 from people in the New Testament, and 3 from church history: Patrick, Valentine, and Nicholas. The series is called "Courageous."
Very nice ❤
Wow! Thank you soo much for these powerful historical facts about St. Nicholas, the trafition of the Christmas tree, AND CONFIRMING THE 25TH DECEMBER AS THE TRUE BIRTHDAY OF THE LORD. God bless you both.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Boy, are you deceived
This is awesome!
Thank you so very much for all this information. I'm going to get the book to explain this to all of my family 😊
Great documentary on the Christmas tradition and St. Nicholas.
I always think about the movie "Miracle on 34th Street" with Jimmy Stewart. It one of my favorite Christmas movies. 🎄
Maybe you're thinking of Us A Wonderful Life? Cause that's the one that Jimmy Stewart was in. He wasn't in Miracle on 34th Street, which was the one about Kris Kringle.
@@LM-hb6yn You are correct! I am wrong, thank you 😊 🙏
@@davidcerullo7976 No problem. Those are two of my favorite Christmas movies too. Hope you had a nice Christmas. Happy New Years!
6:05 hmm 🤔, I always assumed that term was referring to ✝️ & for one reason or another had been turned to X. Interesting 🧐
Oh my goodness ! Jesus and St. Nick must shake their heads
Wow it Never ceases to amaze me how fasrrr off out there we create non Biblical accounts of our Lord Gods Birth amd fiction concerning biblical characters out of non binlical characters, one lie leads to another and another etc. and so it goes hence Pagan holidays, yep Unholy as it van get
Merry Christmas to all
Interesting. My mother hated the use of Xmas. She always said that they were taking Christ out of Christmas.
Love this story
WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING TO DO WITH JESUS BIRTHDAY👎😳🤦♀️🤷♀️IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS JESUS CHRIST BIRTH THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD 💥✝️💥
But He was not born on Christmas. That was a pagan holiday.
What about Pagenism , and how The Holy Bible tells us not to partake in Pagenism ? Im asking sincerely..
Awesome! Looking
Love Love, Mr. Federer!!
Wow this has really helped me as I've been on the fence about christmas for some time❤
Wow!! I never knew any of this!!
Very interesting...but what do you think of the modern version of Santa Claus etc
