When Pathos Acoustics says "Made in Italy" they practically mean "Made in Vicenza". You won't believe just how much of this amp is made in-house. But the Pathos Classic One MKIII hybrid is not just a pretty face. As always, Kevin bares all, and shows us just why this is such an amazing integrated amp.
This is what I love about this hobby. I learn something new all the time.
This amplifier is pure magic. Very musical and sweet and yet 3D holographic. Bloody live vocals and airy presentation. For those who want to experiment with tubes I recommend to try the genalex gold lions tubes. I very much prefer them over my stock JJ E88CC

Always wanted this baby because it looks so good. I ended up with another Italian amp, the Audia Flight. Their build quality is top notch. I had a Unison Research Unico Primo once, a nice amp too.
Kevin is making me want to buy this amp, darn it. ;)

Wish Pathos made a matching amp so you could run .Some folks run two of them for more power but this seems stupid to duplicate everything.Really a sleeper line though

I've had my doubts for some time, as I don't think their marketing narrative is always transparent, especially regarding their trade ins. Slight problem I have is that you used to tell us how great they were...
I do like the Franco Serblin designed SF that i have , this also look's like a great amp with Italian style , Kevin !, did you ever revue an EAR / yoshino amp that is made in England ? ,

Doesn’t McIntosh make a majority of their components, including boards, themselves? True made in America quality.
Yes they silkscreen solder paste on their own boards. They also do their own metal work and painting or powder coat in-house. Even the glass front panel is cut with water jet in-house.
The build quality of the Mcintosh MA252 is excellent but the sound is dull and boring.

I was thinking about upgrading from a rega amp io to a rega elex-r (pairing my triangle borea 03's sensivity 90). How do you think an amp like this compares to the rega elex-r in the same conditions? is this better quality sound then the elex-r? It's very hard to get info about this brand.

Is this a solid state amp . I notice only 2 tubes for the pre amp I was considering a prima Luna more tubes for a warm sound . Can you elaborate on this thank you

Funny, I bought a PS Audio BHK preamp from Upscale a couple of years ago and as per usual, the salesmanship kicked-in when talking with this gentleman. Talking very positive about their products. Oh, have times changed!

Chinese are only making the stuff to the company’s specs, we think of China stuff that is to CHINESE specs ( of the past) of course now that’s changing.. they can make good stuff like any other humans

Hybrid vs, all tube. Not exactly the same. Equally good.
Primaluna... Both are great I'm sure but Yippie is right full tubes... Full tubes are the way to go. If I had the money I'd definitely have a primaluna preamp or integrated amp... If you want a hybrid setup you can get a schiit freya+ preamp with 2 aegir monoblocks. It'll give you way more value and it'll sound amazing regardless of the money
