悉尼鲍拉尔老镇 Sydney's Historic Town: Bowral

鲍拉尔是澳大利亚新南威尔士州南部高地地区最大的历史城镇，距悉尼中央区西南约132公里。鲍拉尔的人口约1万多人，以澳洲出生的人为主，其次是英国和新西兰移民，少量原住民。宗教以圣公会和天主教为主。由于悉尼至墨尔本铁路的修建，该镇在1960至1990年代之间迅速发展。现今，鲍拉尔已成为了南部高地地区的主要商业、娱乐和旅游区。
鲍拉尔曾经是悉尼绅士们的乡村避暑胜地，因此在该地区建有许多的庄园，以及维多利亚式的风雨板房屋。随着欧洲移民的到来，引进种植了落叶树木和花卉，使鲍拉尔成为具有欧洲和英国风格的花园城镇。
每年春季在鲍拉尔的科比特花园举办的郁金香时间节是澳大利亚最古老和最受欢迎的花卉展览之一，曾获得了2015年世界郁金香比赛的嘉奖。
鲍拉尔夏季温暖，冬季凉爽，加之宁静优美的自然环境、便利的生活和医疗条件，因而吸引了不少的悉尼退休老人和空巢老人在该镇购房养老。
Bowral is the largest historical town in the southern highlands of New South Wales, Australia, about 132 kilometers southwest of the central area of Sydney. Bowral has a population of more than 10,000, mainly Australian born people, followed by British and New Zealand immigrants, and a small number of aborigines. The main religions are Anglican Church and Catholicism. Due to the construction of the Sydney-Melbourne railway, the town developed rapidly between 1960 and 1990. Today, Bowral has become the main commercial, entertainment and tourism area in the southern highlands.
Boral was once a rural summer resort for Sydney gentlemen, so there are many manors and Victorian weatherboard houses built in the area. With the arrival of European immigrants, deciduous trees and flowers were introduced and planted, making Bowral a garden town with European and English styles.
The Tulip Time Festival held every spring in the Corbett Garden in Bowral is one of the oldest and most popular flower exhibitions in Australia, and has won the award of the 2015 World Tulip Competition.
Due to the warm summer and cool winter, together with the quiet and beautiful natural environment, convenient living and medical conditions, Bowral have attracted many Sydney retirees and empty nesters to buy houses in the town for living there.
