  • This is a video tutorial showing you step by step how to replace a rear axle on a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 V8. This axle came from a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 V8. The years that are compatible and interchangeable according to google are 2007-2014 Chevy Silverados. The reason we are swapping the axle is because it was damaged during an accident and had a hop at any speed.

    My 08 Sierra 1500 ate a culvert so now this video will definitely help. However I found out there are so many types of rear axles for this generation of GM trucks. I finally weeded out what wouldn't work and waiting on funds to order one.

      @@ChrisVause-fo5uv hey thanks for watching and I really appreciate the feedback. Most likely the line closest to either side is most likely where it goes for example the one closest to the passenger most likely goes on that side and the one closest to the drivers side most likely goes on that side. Another thing you can do is follow the lines back. Hope this helps and hope you’ll consider subbing to the channel.

    I have a 2002 chevy silverado 1500. Should this be similar in my truck? I’m having a heck of a time finding a video specifically for the 02 🙃

    • @ucanfixit1
      @ucanfixit1  Год назад +4

      Hey thanks for watching! It should be a similar process because before I did this truck I replaced a rear axle on a 01 jeep Cherokee and that’s what gave me the knowledge and confidence to do it on the Silverado and it was almost exactly the same other than a few different sensors. Hope this helps and if you would please support me by subscribing I would greatly appreciate it!

      @@dylanbruce8693 yea both those rear ends were stock besides the lift. All the gear ratios were the same we never messed with anything we just took it out of a donor truck which was stock and replaced it on our truck. The repair is straightforward. If you do a google search it should tell you what year vehicles are compatible. Hope this helps and good luck bud!
