I am a big fan of Tom Deininger , I got to meet him years ago in NYC , my boss and owner of a building bought 2 sculptures from Tom and he was on site to see them installed . I myself am a junk artist and I made a American Flag and an 8 Ball Sculpture as a tribute to Tom Deininger . I have 2 separate videos of my sculptures on RUclips . Thanks for sharing . Mike Espo.
This art should be celebrated in Contemporary Art Biennales around the world. Unfortunately it seems like Biennales are not looking for art with any aesthetic value.
Portuguese artist Bordalo II does the same, but better. I used to live in Lisbon and his pieces are all over the place, decorating random walls on buildings
I think the late art critic Robert Hughes would love this work. The multi-layers of motive and outcome will become very historical in the future. For instance, I'd love to see these pieces be installed in the Capitol Building and other places where ordinary people who produce trash can see it. Truly it is art for the "people."
They probably look best when photographed or videos. I imagine there is only a certain location that it would look in its perfection. I imagine it would mostly look like trash at most points. It is gorgeous stuff though and madly creative. I would love to see an exhibit just not sure about owning one. I think the novelty would where off. Personally
