The battle against Pucci at the end of Stone Ocean has always been one of my favorites. The desperation from all the characters really shows through and its conclusion is quite shocking for a first time reader. More than that though, I've always enjoyed imagining how David Productions would handle their adaptation. The constantly shifting light source (the sun) could make for a visually remarkable and unique battle if they pull it off. This animation is just my attempt at visualizing how the dynamic lighting might be handled once the anime rolls around.

Not that it matters, but I wanted to let everyone know that this animation only took around 3 weeks to make from start to finish tops. I've seen some people claiming it took over three months but that just isn't true, haha.

T Kg Nah he’s moving around them at a speed where at the moment the brain interprets it, he’s right back where he started. It’s like if the time it took for him to move there and back were less than a frame, it would appear he remained stationary.
I never realized it was going *that* fast. Animation makes it terrifying

I like how Araki does overpowered in the most interesting ways. For example, Instead of just any powerful stand Made in heaven is just plain terrifying. There is no winning. Jolyne doesn’t evolve stone free to win, there is absolutely nothing she can do to Pucci. Even with C-Moon there was a chance, but Made in Heaven is just too powerful. The Joestar always has a trick up their sleeve, even against an Aztec god, but there was genuinely nothing Jolyne could do here…
At least Emporio came through for everyone in the end

I think what sells it for me is Pucci isn't really overpowered in ways that the Joestars haven't beaten before. Like Jotaro nearly kills Pucci multiple times but is always stopped just short or has to focus on something else.
Pucci's real power was he had fate on his side. He was going to achieve Heaven, and once he did there was little anyone could do to stop him, the last being when Jotaro nearly kills him but saves Jolyne. Instead, Pucci loses to his own fate. It wasn't someone else going above and beyond to kill Pucci, Emporio outwits Pucci and makes him use his own fate against him.
My favourite panel is when Emporio tells Pucci that he lost to his own fate while pointing like Jotaro.
if they just lured pucci into a large area then bombed the entire place then he would've died. I assume pucci can't outrun an explosion.
I mean, it's not like araki doesn't do ass pulls but yes. The existential horror of made in heaven isn't lost (although this fan animation probably captures it better than any single scene)
Of all of the villians in Jojo.
The one who feels the strongest and most menacing is hands down Pucci.
The feeling of despair and hopelessness really is transfered to the readers of the manga in the made in heaven arc and from the moment Pucci obtains that stand we can feel that the heroes of this part won't be able to defeat him.
The way his character is designed, written and executed is absolutely flawless and he's just the perfect antagonist, much like funny valentine from part 7.
Pucci is in my opinion not only the greatest antagonist in Jojo, but the absolute best in all of anime and manga.
He is just incredible.
This animation is incredible beyond belief especially because it perfectly portrays the terror and menace which is made in heaven and you can tell the difference in power between Pucci and the heroes so you feel their hopelessness perfectly.

Man, I can't wait for the anime, I hope that DP will capture perfectly that menace of Made in Heaven. Also, I agree, Pucci is the most superior villain in "JoJo", my favourite character in this franchise to be honest.
What makes me like him even more is that unlike every other character in the series, he actually earned his power
If you think he is the best antagonist then that's literal evidence that you have never watched any other anime than Jojo.

This is so much better than the anime but it makes sense since time wasn't accelerating that fast in this scene. That happened way later when Emporio was riding the dolphin and jolyne was dead. So this scene is literally not possible.

Checking back in now that Stone Ocean is finished. The anime’s take on this was VERY very good but I still likes yours a little better! It’s a little more horrifying (in a good way) and the modulation on Pucci’s voice because of his speed is still brilliant.

It has its charm and the voice modulation they use for Dio is very cool but a) I much MUCH prefer the reboot of JJBA to the 90’d OVA and b) imo it just makes the most sense to have Pucci’s voice sound like it’s a hum because of the speed he’s operating at. While the voice modulation for Dio was cool idk if it was really needed, made a ton of sense or was worth it compared to this where it just really fits perfectly given the character and circumstances.

This captures how terrifying Made In Heaven really is so well.
As someone who hasn’t read part 6 I have no idea how terrifying it is and I’m pretty lost watching this, an explanation would be nice

This is tonally a lot darker than what the anime is probably gonna do. Like comparing the OVA version of Jonathan and Dio’s fight on the boat to the anime version; the former is infinitely darker and more foreboding.

Crazy good animation for a fanmade. I dream of seeing this scene animated by DP since I read part 6 manga ... but this was a great sample. Jolyne facial expression gives me chills. Great work!
Not trying to shit on them, but alot of people here are kinda stupid.
This is a SFM. Using premade models and using the light source to spin around giving the reflections and light you see.
They do have to know how to use the program properly, but if you look at their whole channel, it's all just SFM stuff.
They are great at animations though but even those are using pre-existing models, bones, and rigs.
The sound design, and filmography is all them though.

@@HipsteryDibstery Well, like I said, they are very good at animating otherwise. Those are the same models on steam workshop but the post rendering, the lighting, deciding what filter to use, is all the creator of this video's talent.

More like there's a difference between putting enough time on working on the animation frames freely to reach its quality and putting NOT enough time on working on the animation frames on a strict schedule. That may be true, but it depends on planning and skills. However, in my opinion, the fan animation is just as good as the official anime scene, but both were done based on timing and freedom.
That's fair, but final episodes and big important fight sequences often get more time put into them than regular episodes. It feels a bit like a dropped ball nothing even close to this was attempted by a professional studio employing lots of people

After watching all the 24 episodes released, i am seeing this and comparing it to the anime. The animation is actually as good as the original anime and i hope David Productions make it even more dope. One thing we all can agree on is that there is excitement for the last bunch of episodes which will conclude the s5

After she got her chance to shine by countering C-Moon's ability with a Moebius Strip, this is something she didn't expect.

@@theextremeanimator4721 i dont know much about animation but pretty much the last 6th of the manga is like a giant mindfuck, like cape Canaveral turning sideways, made in heaven, and just insane stand abilities over all just seems like it would be impossible to animate decently

Hard is stuff like hair and cloth, water (allthough that gets better with new tech),
basically anything detailed that has to react to both physics and itself.
Edit: Apparently I was wrong in terms of 2d animation, but everything I said still holds true for 3d animation!

@@kenm.a.d.7196 yeah that's one thing, but with all the respect for the effort put into this by the animation, production and voicing team, I've gotta say the episodes also felt way more rushed than previous parts
