    Would have been nice to hear more from Jules in this review. Dillon and Dutch kind of echo each other and talk over Jules here..

    Dillon seems predisposed to hate on this one. Of course, for $250 I might be as well.

    Whiskey Acres, a distillery local to me, just released a 7 year wheated bourbon at 107 proof. It was a limited release though, and I'm not sure when they'll be able to put them out on a regular basis. I'd still be curious to see how it stacks up against the Willett, but there's no way I'm dropping that much cash on it when I grabbed the Whiskey Acres for between $65-$70 and can also probably find Larceny Barrel Proof for around the same price.
    I have some Larceny Barrel Proof, Weller Antique 107, and Maker's 46 Cask Strength in my collection right now, so I might just have to do my own wheater taste off with the Whiskey Acres 7-year.

    Willet is so over hyped. So disappointed every time with every single one of their products... Seriously, I will never buy a Willet anything ever again. I will also never knowingly accept a pour of Willet. Period. I protest that hype.

    Bourbon prices are out of control. Sucks for the drinker. So tired of the collectors running up the prices. Half the bourbon will sit in some window and get funky before someone will beable to taste it for what it was.

    Hey guys, what are your thoughts on alcohol addiction? How do you enjoy sipping spirits while not becoming addicted? I wanted to get into it but after speaking with my parents they are concerned about me developing an addiction.

    • @Batzarn82
      @Batzarn82 Год назад +3

      If you look up alcoholism and addiction in general about 50% of it is dependent on your genetic makeup. Some people are predisposed to addiction. I have known people addicted to drugs and much of it seems to come from a chemical dependency that develops overtime and can depend on how addictive the substance you are taking is. Some are very quick and some take more time and use. Alcohol can get the upper hand if you are drinking too much too often or if you’re predisposed to it. I haven’t ever had an issue with “needing” a drink but I’ve known people who do and the best thing they can do is just stop. If you aren’t predisposed to alcoholism then drink in moderation and as long as you aren’t using alcohol as a crutch to cope with issues in your life you should be ok. I would be mindful if your family has a history of alcoholism. My mom was an alcoholic but I don’t have that issue and I never have. I will sip on a couple ounces of whiskey probably 3 nights a week and I’m perfectly happy. I don’t get drunk often but I did when I was younger and putting down the bottle hasn’t ever been a concern. Make of all that what you will. It is your decision and you should do what is best for you. Cheers.

    • @Walking_Ears
      @Walking_Ears Год назад +1

      Having some self-imposed "rules" about moderation is helpful IMO. I limit myself to six drinks a week (except when on vacation lol) and always have at least one night a week when I don't drink at all. Also take a "dry week" every few months where I don't drink at all. Ralfy, an older youtuber who mostly reviews scotch, has made some videos talking about ways to enjoy spirits without putting yourself in danger of becoming an alcoholic, but it comes down to moderation basically in the end.

    • @sjcsscjios4112
      @sjcsscjios4112 Год назад

      @@Walking_Ears Ok. I had limited myself to once every 2-3 weeks. But after further discussion with my parents it was reduced to once every 3 months which just makes it not enjoyable tbh. Idk what to do

    • @Walking_Ears
      @Walking_Ears Год назад

      @@sjcsscjios4112 do you live with them? Assuming that moving in to your own place with more space is in the future, you could always get more into spirits once you live away from them. When you get to be an adult it shouldn't be up to them to impose those kinds of rules, though its still good to be planning on keeping your drinking within healthy limits

      @sjcsscjios4112 Год назад +1

      @@Walking_Ears i do live with them. Hopefully in a few years I can move out and enjoy spirits. But maybe they have a point on once every 3 months but I don’t really know
